It was rewarding for most of the time. Having Kim Junmyeon as the new owner and the change to more friendly dynamics with the higher-ups was something you were totally here for. For instance, you didn’t have to constantly hear that you needed to lose weight. All the mean managers were gone because you were now the sole restaurant manager. It truly was a gift at this point of your career to be recognised for your impeccable work as well as respected and even loved. Yes, Kim Junmyeon treated you like a member of his extended family like he described when he promoted you when he took over the hotel.
Everything was perfect.
Everything… except for the constant bickering between none other than celebrity chef Do Kyungsoo and the hotel’s head chef. They were acting like a pair of toddlers fighting for the crown.
“I’m the celebrity chef here. Junmyeon-ssi has asked me to run this kitchen the days I’m here. Would you expect me, chef Do Kyungsoo, to work under your supervision?” He asked the head chef who was rolling her eyes for the tenth time today.
“Absolutely not of course.” You nudged her with your elbow lightly. “We’re delighted to have you here.”
“Train your staff to respect me and obey my commands then.” He demanded.
“Yes, chef Kyungsoo.” She sarcastically agreed.
“Please, the model Luhan is about to arrive and Junmyeon-ssi has specifically asked everything to be perfect today, please.” You begged them both.
Indeed, today was a very special day. You heard this Luhan was acquainted with Junmyeon enough to always come to his hotel, but also not close enough to be considered a friend. You heard rumours saying that Luhan’s father had helped at the time Junmyeon’s father as an investment, and once Junmyeon’s father stood on his feet, he returned all the invested with its corresponding interests. It was the business language that Luhan apparently inherited, and of course Junmyeon still felt indebted forever judging by the over the top preparations and how he received him bowing at Luhan as if he owed him a kidney.
You watched the scene from where you stood at the restaurant’s entrance. The lobby was converted to a prime minister level type of reception.
You were having mixed feelings, Luhan seemed gentle with his soft features that you observed in your late night stalker investigation about him when you checked out his Instagram account. He was what they called a pretty man, a flower boy. Imagining how he irradiated pink fairy glittery dust as he walked. That was your first impressions about Luhan, however, his body language and the cold greeting he gave Junmyeon and even Baekhyun, told you he was nothing but an arrogant brat.
You sighed while shoulders shrugged in disappointment. The dream you had of Luhan being the fairy king taking you on a stroll around the garden was nothing but rubbish.
“So do we know the exact time this man is dining tonight?” Kyungsoo asked as he stood next to you with his deep voice.
“Chef Kyungsoo!” You held on your chest feeling your heartbeats. “You startled me!”
Kyungsoo didn’t even blink as he was waiting for his answer watching you catch your breath.
“I have Luhan-ssi for 7 PM tonight, but when the crowd is dissolved I’ll go talk to Junmyeon-ssi to make sure the plan is still the same.”
Kyungsoo nodded leaving you and your heart to go back to its normal beating. You looked one more time just to fill your eyes with all the candy you could while it was available.
~~~
Everything was perfect. You took your phone to take a few pictures of how you decorated the table next to the panoramic window. You had reserved and emptied a few tables surrounding Luhan’s. You took a step backwards to get the angle right, and that’s when you felt that you had stepped on something that definitely wasn’t the intended carpet. You spun around alarmed when you met none other than our most VIP guest that you had been told over and over how special and perfect everything had to be.
“So not only you made me wait until you took those pictures, you stepped on my sponsored limited edition GUCCI shoes.” He rubbed his lower lip landing your eyes on that very same lip scar that traced all his lower lip drawing them to the perfect imperfection they uniquely were enhancing this beauty that no man on earth shared with him.
You experienced heart eyes in real life.
“Mr. Lu!” You bowed, holding your phone at your belly looking at the horrible GUCCI shoes you stepped on. “My apologies.”
“Put that phone away.” He ordered. “Because if I see any of my leaked pictures of this evening, reporting you for stalking, firing and deporting you from Korea altogether wouldn’t satisfy me enough.”
“Ah… no no no!” You moved your hands in front of you showing him your phone. “I was taking pictures of the table setting. I’m the restaurant’s manag-”
“I don’t care!” Luhan cute you off. “Bring my food, put the phone away and watch where you walk. You’re not…” He eyed you from head to toe. “If you broke my toenail you’ll seriously be in trouble.” He shoved his hand.
Did this angelical looking devil just body shame you? What an absolute prick, you thought. You were ready to scoff, but you thought of the trouble you’d be causing Junmyeon, so you bit your lower lip, swallowing your pride.
“Right away, Luhan-ssi.”
You bowed again, entering the kitchen where Kyungsoo was giving orders and supervising every single little pate that was for Luhan’s table. You had to hold yourself helped by the counter trying to overlook what just happened. After all, he was right, you weren’t exactly petite and you totally stepped with all your weight on his poor little toe.
You took a few breaths opening the door for the waiters to go in line towards Luhan’s table, following closely to fix the plates yourself. You could see Luhan disinterested in what was being placed in front of him, but instead he was scrolling through his phone with his head tilted, exposing his glorious jawline that you admittedly didn’t notice until now feeling almost sorry for your poor soul now that you had this view unfolding right before you, damning how absolutely flawless this man was. His longish hair wasn’t allowing you to appreciate his neck before, but now this was all a show for you to admire.
“Is everything of your liking, Luhan-ssi?” You asked, clearing your throat gently once the waiters left.
Luhan exhaled before flipping his phone closed, placing it on the table. He rested both his wrists at the edge playing with his beautiful fingers while biting on his lower lip emphasising the view of his lip scar.
“I want all this in my room.” He simply and nonchalantly asked. “And you’re the one going to bring it to me.”
“Bu- This is only the entrees. Chef Do Kyungsoo himself is the one that prepared the laborious dishes.”
“So?” Luhan challenged. “Bring all the food to my room. If you must know the reason, I think my toe had suffered an accident and I need to check on it. Would you think it’s alright for me to remove my shoe and sock here?”
“I’m terribly sorry.” You bowed again. “Would you like me to call the hotel’s doctor?”
“No, just bring a first aid kit so you can tent to my toe.” Luhan advised as if nothing, standing, taking his phone in hand and fixing his hair walking out of the restaurant, all while you followed his every move hypnotised.
“Where is he going?” Kyungsoo startled you again.
“Chef Kyungsoo! You really need to stop doing that!” You held yourself. “He wants everything room service.
“That’s going to be a few trolleys.” Kyungsoo explained. “I’ll start preparing everything.”
You nodded, thinking all you needed to do is deliver the food and be gone.
~~~
You knocked the door gently turning to see the three trolleys of food aligned and awaiting to be delivered to Luhan.
“Good evening, Luhan-ssi”
He peeked his head to see three people assisting you in having everything delivered.
“Didn’t I say that you deliver the food? Send everyone away because you have to understand that you did me wrong and I’m being quite the decent man by only overworking you. Am I wrong?”
What an asshole this one was. You had to act as professional as you could and bow before he could read in your facial expression how disturbed you were from his pettiness.
“Absolutely, Luhan-ssi.” You assured him, sending everyone away. “May I enter, please?” You smiled showing him the first aid kit.
Luhan stepped aside letting you in. You placed the kit on the table going back to get the food trolleys.
You smiled at him once more before aiming to exit the room, but he stopped you extending his leg across the doorframe. You looked at him briefly before watching his grin grow.
“I’m not going to let this incident just go. I hope you know that and are prepared for my tormenting.” You gulped, nodding nervously not even thinking that at this point you could report it to Junmyeon. “Go get the food.” He motioned with his head moving his leg away.
You got out of the room taking the first trolley and entering again. This time Luhan was removing his blazer. You walked slowly watching him remove his watch and rings, having to almost shake your head to focus and not let your imagination take you to how truly flawlessly sexy these simple actions were.
You placed the first trolley in front of the dining table going for the second one, and this time Luhan was unbuttoning the buttons at his wrists before rolling his first sleeve. You really had to look anywhere but his silhouette that seemed to have a magnet for your eyes to land on him again. Third and last trolley. You inhaled, placing it next to the other two.
“Would you like me to arrange the table for you, Luhan-ssi?”
“What kind of question is that?” He scoffed. “But before that, tend to my toe.” He sat comfortably spreading his legs and moving his injured foot.
Luhan hadn’t even removed his shoes, and by the looks of it, he was expecting you to remove them for him. You went on your knees gulping, extending your hands to hold his shoe.
“Have you done this before?” He asked, startling you as if caught doing something wrong retracting your hands almost at your back.
“You mean…”
“Yes, I mean, have you removed shoes for a guest before?”
“I haven’t, however I understand I must. I hope your toe is not too badly injured.”
“I hope so too, because I cannot afford a bad toe while I model.”
You nodded, holding his foot and undoing the laces. You pulled gently hearing him hiss. Once you removed the shoe you removed the other one to have him barefoot and more comfortable. You held on the sock of his injured foot trying not to make any contact with his leg skin pulling it somewhat faster than intended causing discomfort when feeling the dried blood on Luhan’s toe, something you weren’t really expecting, thinking all this was just an exaggeration from his side. You gasped covering your mouth with your hand at the view, thinking that now you truly were in big trouble. When once you thought what you were doing was unnecessary and not within your scope of responsibilities, you were now in front of a potential lawsuit against you where you stood no chance in front of this enchanting deer looking angry man.
“I’m so so so sorry! I think you need to be seen by the doctor!” You tried standing but Luhan pulled you by your wrist.
“I don’t want no doctor.”
“Then allow me to go to the our spa really quickly, to get a foot soaking bowl and-”
“The spa…” He repeated scrunching his eyebrows. “Does that Kim Jongin still work there?” Luhan asked intrigued. “That womaniser fucker.” He added surprising you.
“Ah… yeah he does.” You admitted.
“No need then. You might not come back if that manwhore catches you near.”
You were extremely confused now. You knew of Jongin’s antics, but Jongin was nothing but a little brother that came to you like a little bear cub when hungry. Besides, why would that annoy Luhan? You just met, plus you were on his bad side, plus he repulsed you, didn’t he?
“I’ll just try to see for myself how bad the damage is. Is that alright with you, Luhan-ssi?”
Luhan nodded watching you open the little briefcase containing disinfectants and other aid tools. You took a bit of cotton wool drenching it with alcohol slowly patting on his toe after you placed his foot on your lap. You cleaned the dried blood realising how you broke his toenail causing the injury.
“You’re good at this.” He complimented.
When you looked at his face you regretted it. While you were focused, Luhan had decided to gather his hair into a man-bun that absolutely brought all his beautiful features to a more deadly perspective.
“I hope it’s not too painful. The nail itself is not too badly damaged. I’ll put a bandage around it.” You explained. “I hope you don’t have sandals to model in your schedule.” You joked laughing by yourself feeling like crap when all Luhan did was have his beautiful eyebrows knitted. “All done. I guess my job here is finished.” You placed his foot back on the floor standing. “I sincerely apologise again for the incident, and please do rely on me if you require anything during your stay with us.” You bowed.
Luhan stood following you to the door, finding it strange as he didn’t give the gentleman vibe at all since you’ve met. When you placed your hand on the doorknob to leave, Luhan’s hand rested on yours, trying to figure out why it felt so good and bad at the same time. You wanted to die but also indulge in how warm and sturdy it felt against yours.
“If you think this is over, you’re widely mistaken.” He whispered over your ear from behind. You really needed to see what expression he had in his face for some strange reason, and that action only gave Luhan more space to toy with you finding your back against the wall while his other hand slapped the wall right at your ear level making you flinch. “I’m not even close to being done with you. My toe is very expensive, and I don’t think you can afford it.”
“I-” You tried speaking, thinking he was pissed because you wanted to leave before you prepared the table.
“What time are you in the restaurant in the morning?” He asked, tilting his head in question.
“I start at 6 AM.”
“My breakfast shall be on my table at 6:10 AM.” He removed his hand from yours crossing his arms over his chest. “One more mistake…” He came closer, almost touching your earlobe with his lips. “And I’ll make sure you never work in your life.” He blew on your ear saying those last words.
You nodded nervously and repeatedly as you turned the doorknob to leave sprinting outside, noticing how much you had sweated.
And with that, you were proclaimed Luhan’s toy during his stay at the Crimson Aurora Hotel & Spa.
~~~
Today you looked prettier, if you had to say so yourself. Sehun - the ever so robotic in all his expressions - even winked at you that morning before you slapped his wide shoulder. You did make an extra effort to look better in a sense that everyone will notice. Even Luhan, who instead of watching what you were serving him, was scanning at your face and your choice of lipstick and your little silk scarf around your neck.
“And that’s the dark matcha tea you asked for.” You announced, trying to find a small place to put it on the table filled with goodies.
“The shade of brick red lipstick suits you better than the coral one you wore yesterday.” Luhan simply stated earning him a spillage of the very same matcha tea you were announcing.
His beautiful fingers were the victim this time. You heard him hiss in pain as your paralysed self from the compliment and the accident couldn’t cope.
“Luhan-ssi!” You took his hand in yours. “I’m so so so sorry! Please follow me so I can give you some cream to treat the burn, or do you prefer going to the hotel’s doctor?”
Luhan had an expression that felt like he was shifting to a werewolf and chop your neck off your body, however he just followed you in silence. You entered the staff bathroom taking his hand placing it under the cold water. You looked for the first aid kit the bathroom was equipped with finding a burn’s gel. You applied it in silence avoiding making eye contact despite how he hadn’t stopped looking at your face for a second.
“You’re screwed.” Luhan held your name tag to read your name. “You really are. If you didn’t know, I have a photoshoot for Boucheron today, and it’s none other than rings I’m endorsing.”
Hello! Thank you so so much! Thank you for sticking around so long, and I looooove this one! I hope you do, too!
Luhan stares at you with dark eyes, his fingers are wrapped around your wrist as he leads you inside after one of your regular date-nights.
“Xīngān,” Luhan murmurs, “Did I tell you how beautiful you look tonight?
You blush at the pet name, a little hard to translate to English, similar to ‘my heart and soul’, as you turn to face him once he shuts the front door.
“Yes, Lulu,” You giggle, “You told me a thousand times.”
He pulls you into his embrace, wrapping his arms around you as you lean into him. The night was nothing crazy, just dinner at a nice restaurant, a few drinks, and now you are home early enough to have a decent rest before your busy weekend.
“You needed to hear it,” He hums, “You know how crazy you make me when you wear something tight like this.”
You smile at him, as his hands trail down your back to settle at your hips, and you look up at him with wide eyes as he digs his nails into your skin through the silk fabric. You do know that this dress would drive him wild, you wore it because you want to see his wild side.
“I want this off,” He complains, referring to your dress, “I want to see all of you.”
“Ah, tiān nà, Lulu,” You sigh, attempting to resist him, “Slow down, we just got home.”
Though this does not stop him leaning in to kiss you, leaving you breathless. As he pulls away, you fight the urge to chase his lips for another kiss, reminding yourself of your plan.
“I said…” He warns, his tone is stern and full of frustration, “Off.”
You stare him dead in the eyes, your expression mostly neutral, though your lip curls up in a smirk.
“Make me.” You dare him, raising a brow as you maintain defiance.
Luhan looks shocked for a moment before it clicks, and he bites his lip as he spits his next words back at you.
He would not make it back in time for Christmas. It was always the same. Always the same excuse repeatedly. He had to work hard, give his best for his fans, and you understood that. You always did. And that was the problem. You loved him. Too much. He was here for Christmas for the last two years. That’s what made you hope he would be here again, not only that, but he told you, no, he promised you he would be here.
Sighing, you got up, heading to freshen up before heading back to loneliness. Stripping down, scalding water hitting you, relaxing you. After the quick shower, you put on your Christmas sweater, heading down to bake something for yourself. Mixing the batter, you opted to mix more than for one portion, just in case.
The door opened as you pulled them out of the oven. Hands wrapped around your waist and you knew it was him. Turning around in his arms you hugged him. “You came” you breathed.
“Of course,” he said as he pulled away and placed a tiny kiss on your forehead. “I smell something~” he cooed looking at the oven. “Just cookies” you grinned, the smile not leaving your face since he came.
Settling down on the sofa, he started the movie. You cuddled to his side, just enjoying him being there with you. It was not always you would have time together, just the two of you. Halfway through the movie, Luhan’s head was resting against yours. But you didn’t mind. Just having him here, being in his presence was enough for you.
Summary: A vacation exploring China’s famous city was supposed to be relaxing. When you witness a horrifying murder, you instead find yourself in police custody, unable to run. Trying to stay alive, you meet Luhan, and you believe you can trust him. You never imagined that he might be the one you should be running from.
A/n: Yes, there is romanized mandarin in here. It was necessary.
Luhan paced anxiously in the hallway. According to Yixing and the female doctor, you had a mild concussion. The fact that that was the only injury you’d sustained was a miracle. Yixing also suggested that you shouldn’t fly for a few more weeks while your brain healed. The female frowned when he suggested this, possibly meaning that the precaution was unnecessary, but Luhan would take it. This ordeal was over and he would keep his promise to you to send you home, if that’s what you still wanted. For now, though, he got to keep you a little while longer.
You didn’t know any of this yet, however, beyond the initial concussion. You were currently fast asleep in his bedroom, keeping his sheets warm as you tossed in between them. He thought it might be a little untoward to sit there and watch you, even though he’d asked you to do the same just a few days ago. So, instead, he’d gone a walk around the mansion to clear his head. Easier said than done.
The fight to keep you or let you go was still going on inside. He felt more alive with you, more a person rather than an entity to be feared. He missed being Lin. Not something he would have ever predicted when this whole thing started, but here he was, wishing he really was that low level gangster. Then he could get on that plane with you and never look back. But he couldn’t just abandon all he’d built to run away with you. Even with Kris and Tao behind to look after things, he was still needed. And he wasn’t sure he could flip the switch on who he was. He wasn’t… he wasn’t the good guy. He would never be, not completely. Which meant that he would never be good for you.
He still hadn’t been able to come to a conclusion when he came back to his room. Unable to take himself inside, he continued to walk back and forth right outside.
“Luhan?”
Luhan stopped midstep. The call of his name came faintly from the other side of the door. You were awake.
Taking a deep breath, he wrapped his fingers around the handle and pushed it open slowly.
In the darkness of the bedroom where the only light leaked in through the hallway, he could make out your faint figure sitting up on the bed. He watched for a few seconds as you rubbed your eyes. You were still only just waking up. It warmed his heart that your first conscious thought was of him.
He scoffed to himself. Look at him, being soft over such a simple thing. It took all his self control not to run and throw himself at you. He had to stay civilized. So, he closed the door and forced himself to walk slowly over to the bed. He sat down on the opposite side and gave you space. “Did you sleep well?”
You nodded. At least, he thought it was a nod.
“Is she… dead?” you asked hestitanly.
“Yes,” Luhan answered honestly. There was no point in lying to you. Eventually, you would see it in the news. The detective’s body was identified after the fire set by Kris and Tao was put out. They’d paint her as a hero, trying to stop a weapons ring and dying in the crossfire. “She won’t hurt you ever again.”
The sheets around you shifted. “It all started with her, didn’t it? The murder in the alley?”
“Yes,” Luhan confirmed again. “One of my men had infiltrated the unit she worked for and was on the verge of discovering that it was her behind the sabotage of our business. She sniffed him out and had one of her other detectives kill him. Then she offed him when she feared he might turn on her.” It was amazing the things that came to light once someone died. Luhan had plenty of informants who were able to dig up all the answers he could ever need pertaining to this particular series of events.
“Then it's all over.”
You didn’t sound as enthusiastic about that revelation as he would have expected. There was a sadness to your tone, a reluctance. So, you really did feel for him. then maybe, possibly…
“(y/n), I know I promised you that I’d-” Luhan swallowed thickly, unsure if he truly wanted to finish the thought.
But he didn’t need to. You knew exactly what was on his mind.
“I have to. I can’t stay.” An invisible hand reached out and took ahold of his fingers, squeezing tightly. “I told you. This isn’t my world. I was only ever supposed to be on vacation here. My life is back home. That’s where I belong.”
Luhan nodded, his heart almost audibly cracking, shattering in his ears. Before you, he wouldn’t have been sure that he even had a heart to break. “As soon as your concussion is healed, I’ll take you to the airport.”
Your own voice came out small, barely loud enough for him to hear you. “How long do we have?”
“Two weeks at the most,” he said.
“Well, then.” You smiled. His eyes had adjusted to the lack of light enough to see that. Besides, he was sure he could make out your smile if he’d lost his sight all together. “I guess we should make the most of it.”
He took that as his invitation, leaning forward and eliminating the air between you.
**
You didn’t want to get out of this car. Luahn was already out of the driver’s seat and waiting on the sidewalk with your suitcase in his hand. These past two weeks went too fast. Yesterday, after a quick examination, Yixing had declared you healthy enough to travel. You wished he hadn’t. Part of you really wanted him to find something else wrong, something else to keep you here. But there was none. And you needed to leave. You needed to be back in your homeland before you lost all the will to leave.
Tears pricked at your eyes, pooling on your bottom lid. Red rims outlined the area, unable to be hidden behind the useless eyeliner you’d put on this morning. You breathed in deeply and unbuckled the belt as you let the used air out slowly. Each step to get out of the car was taken at a snail pace. If Luhan noticed your reluctancy, he didn’t mention it. It was a perfect opening to try and convince you to stay, but he let the debate fall to the side unused.
He saw you all the way to the gate. The fact that he was able to get past the security checkpoint without a ticket didn’t surprise you for a second.
“You should get in line to board,” he said. His eyes didn’t meet yours. Standing in front of you was an odd mixture of Luhan and Lin. The clothes belonged to the latter, more casual than the suit and slacks of the crime boss. Better to blend in with the other travelers and well wishers. But the genuine Luhan was in complete control. The soul behind the mask.
Gripping your passport in your hand, you agreed. “I guess this is goodbye, then.” You didn’t dare hope that you would ever see him again. What your life would like after this, you didn’t know. But you knew it would never be “normal”. It would never be like it was. A part of you would always be missing, left here with him. “Take care of yourself, please?”
A sad smirk pulled up in one corner of his lip. “I’ve been doing that for a while. I think I have that handled.”
“Good.”
Over the PA, your group was called. First class, of course. With Luhan paying, you didn’t expect anything less.
You needed to go now. Hand taunt on the handle of your luggage, you turned and headed for the boarding gate.
No. You couldn’t go like this.
Leaving your suitcase right there, you turned back around and ran for Luhan. His eyes widened at your brash action, but his arms were open to catch you. Wrapping your own around his neck, you kissed him deeply, desperately. Like a nomad in the desert, you drank him in, taking in the overflow like a glutton because there would be no more after this. Luhan held you in close to him, just as deprived and heartbroken as you.
When you pulled away, those fateful three words broke through before you could stop them.
“I love you.”
A small laugh left Luhan’s lips. “Wǒ zhǐ shǔ yú nǐ.”
You furrowed your eyebrows, unfamiliar with the phrase. But Luhan gave you no indication of what those words meant in English. Instead, he simply pushed you towards the gate while stepping back. The official sign that he was letting you go.
You walked backwards as you were unable to take your eyes off of him until you nearly collided with your lonely luggage. It was the hardest thing you’d done since you’d arrived in this country, but you turned around and got in line to board. The front desk worker made no indication that they’d witnessed your dramatic goodbye, merely scanning your ticket, checking your passport and waiving you on through.
This was it. You were in your cushioned seat, staring out the window as the workers piled up the luggage and talked to each other over the headsets. With still time to go until take off, you pulled out your phone that you’d finally gotten back from the police station and brought up a translator app. Into the speaker, you repeated the phrase that Luhan had spoken.
I belong only to you.
An explanation underneath told you that traditional Chinese culture didn’t use the phrase “I love you” as it didn’t carry the same weight. Instead, they used phrases like this to convey their feelings. It symbolized commitment, an attachment that could never be severed.
Closing your eyes, you leaned your forehead against the cool glass of the window and allowed the tears to run down your cheeks.
**
Adjusting back to normal life hadn’t been easy. You never expected it to, but since no one knew what you’d gone through over your vacation, it was even more difficult. Sure, you could have opened up about your experience. You could have told your family or closest friends. But how could they understand? They’d noticed a change since you’d been back. The lack of enthusiasm in outings and the slightest bit of sadness in your eyes, even when you smiled. Most of them chalked it up to missing the city you’d visited. And they would be partially right.
It had been months since you returned. Within those days, you’d forced yourself to find a new normal. You spent more time alone. You were preferring it that way. It was okay, nothing to be too concerned about. As long as you didn’t lock yourself away in your apartment. So, you went on walks around the local park almost daily. It helped you be a part of the world without having to interact too much.
This particular evening you found that you didn’t want to go quite yet. Even with the sun disappearing from the sky, you kept wandering around. The mothers had taken their worn out children home for dinner. Joggers had called time on their workouts and couples were ending their casual dates. But you kept going down the sidewalk, eyes floating around without settling on anything in particular. The trees were starting to sprout their small flowers that would give off a pleasant smell that sang of spring. Portrait green grass that looked soft enough to roll in covered the ground, inviting you to lay within its comforting blades. You didn’t take it. Perhaps another time. A sigh floated from your lips and drifted into the air.
“I thought you might have learned to not go out by yourself after dark.”
You froze like a statue. It wasn’t real, that voice. It was simply your mind conjuring up all your hopes and making you hear things to try and make you happy. You were alone in the park and the owner of the voice was thousands of miles away.
But the tiniest spark of hope made you turn around, just to check.
The air was pulled from your lungs in a violent gasp.
It was a mirage, a hallucination. There was no possible way that he was standing there, ten or so feet away. How could it be real? He looked too normal. No gel in the hair, the button down undone, and a casual smile on his lips. You refused to blink. You didn’t want to risk the image fading away.
He took a step closer, waiting to see if you would run away or come closer. You did neither. So he took another. And another. He kept coming closer until he was right in front of you. No words were spoken. A hand moved from his side, reaching up to cup your cheek. The warmth was real, the touch was real. This was no illusion.
“You’re really here,” you whispered.
Luhan nodded. “I am.”
You shook your head, his hand staying in place as you did. “Why?”
“I told you,” he said. “I belong to you. I couldn’t stay away. Then I remembered that I only promised to let you go back home. I didn’t promise that I wouldn’t follow.”
“But what about-”
“They can handle it without me for a few weeks.”
You sighed. “So, you’re going back?”
“Eventually,” he nodded. “But I thought I could come see you every so often. Planes were invented for a reason, weren’t they? That is, if you’ll have me.”
You let out a sound that was some combination of a laugh and a sniff from the tears forming in your eyes. “Of course.”
Smiling broadly, Luhan placed his other hand on your hip and pulled you in closer to him. His lips repeated the promise to hold on to you. Forever. It wasn’t traditional, but it was a compromise you could live with. Having him part of the time was better than the alternative. So, you kissed him back.
This love wasn’t perfect, but it was yours and that was enough.
Genre/warnings: incubus au, technically guardian angel au??, angst, sorta fluffy??, kinda religious themes, suggestive themes, masturbation, mention of guns, blood, almost dying a few times lmao
Word count: 6,206
Summary: Being in the right place at the right time -- well, depending on how you look at it -- has caused Luhan much more trouble than he was looking for. You’re now convinced he’s your guardian angel despite the fact he’s really the complete opposite, but he’s willing to go along with it if it means getting what he wants.
a/n: this is part of a collab with 11 other writers and we all wrote different exo members as....incubuses? incubi? lmao anyway, so if you wanna read the others, you can find them on the masterlist!!
12 Days of Lust Masterlist
‘Too angelic-looking’. That’s what Luhan was always told whenever he was summoned by some stupid human with some sort of high sex-drive or ‘a need for thrill’. He couldn’t possibly be an incubus because he looked too ‘doll-like’ and ‘innocent’. To humans, he looked like he belonged in Heaven rather than Hell.
However, once he got them in bed, it changed. The way he moved his hips, the way his fingers and tongue could make anybody turn into a whimpering, babbling mess of ecstasy -- that was truly sinister. It was something only an incubus could achieve. He had years and years and years of practice, and he used that well. Whether he was summoned by some lonely human or wandering into the dreams of a poor, unsuspecting victim, Luhan was definitely kept busy.
He did have a weakness, though -- but maybe most, if not all, incubi could attest to the same weakness. He loved humans who were innocent. Those who were inexperienced and easily flustered. He assumed people saw him how he saw the innocent humans. Whenever he got the opportunity to fuck one, he always took it and savored it.
Which was why he went along with this stupid, stupid lie.
Luhan definitely wasn’t the type of person to believe in fate, and you honestly weren’t, either. But he had been in the right place at the right time three times. He had saved your life three whole times now. That couldn’t be a coincidence, could it? It had to mean something -- to you, anyway. To Luhan, he found it to be an inconvenience. Having to deal with pathetic humans in any capacity other than using them for his own pleasure was annoying and a nuisance, and the fact that you now saw him as something other than a random stranger you’d seen once or twice made his blood boil. At least, at first.
The first time you had run into Luhan, it was during something you never thought you’d have to witness. The bank you went to was being robbed. You were there to get a new debit card since yours was broken, and Luhan was there because his ‘pet’ -- as he semi-affectionately referred to his humans most of the time. But some crazy man with a gun ran in, and chaos broke out. He started shooting, wanting people to drop onto the floor while the tellers gave him the money. The women at the front desk were panicking, the patrons were panicking, and you were left frozen in place from fear.
“Get down!” somebody hissed as they threw their body on top of yours just as the man pointed the gun at you since you weren’t listening to his directions.
They managed to wrap one arm around your middle and catch themselves before the two of you hit the ground. But they kept their body on top of yours.
You would later learn after the man was apprehended and the weight was off of you that she stranger who saved you was Luhan. He politely held out a hand to help you to your feet, apologizing for throwing himself at you like that despite the fact he had whispered in your ear that you were “out of your fucking mind” for not moving -- which he wasn’t completely wrong about. But he didn’t introduce himself and he didn’t ask for your name, either. He only asked if you were okay before he went about his business, and you just assumed it was pure luck that somebody was there to save you.
Only a few weeks later would you run into the same stranger yet again. Only this time, you wouldn’t be too worked up from adrenaline, so you could actually get a good look at his face. After tugging you back toward the sidewalk after you walked out into traffic while you were on your phone, you gasped and looked up at that beautiful, oddly familiar face. His almost white hair almost looked like it was glowing as you stared at him in awe -- but it might’ve just been the sun bouncing off of it -- and his dark eyes looked back at you without any emotion. Just like the first time you’d run into him.
“Of course it’s you,” he deadpanned, though you could see the hint of a smirk on his face as one corner of his mouth just barely twitched upwards. “You’re quite the klutz, apparently.”
Despite being a demon, Luhan had to blend in with people when he was mingling with the humans. So it was only natural for him to try to save you despite the fact he didn’t really care if you lived or died. It wasn’t like it would have any impact on him, anyway.
But to you, he was some sort of savior. The fact this was the second time he’d saved your life, plus the fact the way the sunlight hit his beautiful face made you think he could be some sort of guardian angel. But that couldn’t be real, right? Those couldn’t possibly exist. ...Right?
“You’re lucky I’m around when you do stupid things, huh?” he teased as he helped straighten you out before simply walking across the street just as the walk signal lit.
And all you could do was dumbly stare after him.
But the third time was when you made your move. You actually bothered to say something to him.
“W-wait!” you managed to speak up as he was about to walk away after casually saving your life for a third time.
You were positive he had to be some sort of guardian angel at that point.
Luhan, on the other hand, was positive natural selection was coming for you soon.
Despite that, he spun around on his heels to look at you, still showing no emotion on his angelic face.
“I need to thank you somehow,” you insisted, playing nervously with your fingers. “You’ve saved me like, a bunch of times already. Can I buy you a coffee or something? Dinner? I dunno, whatever you want.”
Luhan definitely had an idea of what you could give him. His latest human was completely useless to him now, and with how thick-skulled you already seemed, he was sure he could get you to do exactly what he wanted. But he figured maybe wining and dining you first would help.
“Dinner sounds lovely,” he decided with the first actual smile you’d seen from him.
But an hour and a half later, he had gotten himself into a situation he never would’ve imagined. He was no closer to sleeping with you. In fact, he might’ve been further from it. You kept saying nonsense about fate and how you didn’t believe in it but there was no way you and him running into each other over and over was a coincidence. He just wanted to tell you it was unlucky timing.
However, despite the rubbish spewing from your mouth during dinner, Luhan couldn’t help but take a liking to you. He had decided you would definitely become his next pet because you were just the type of human he liked. You told him straight away that you didn’t drink despite the fact you were of age to do so. He figured maybe you were trying to be sober or something, but you explained you were raised to think it was bad to drink and get drunk. That definitely piqued his interest. You were still trying to be a good girl, apparently. But then he started to learn more about you. He asked the typical questions he might ask for small talk, like about your job or your family or any partner you might have.
“Oh, I’ve… I-I don’t date,” you admitted sheepishly.
Luhan raised an eyebrow as he sipped his wine, “Oh? Why is that?”
“I’m just really shy,” you laughed nervously as you tucked a piece of hair behind your ear. “I don’t do any of that kind of stuff.”
“Would you want to?” he wondered. “You don’t have to answer if it’s too personal.”
But he wanted you to answer.
“It’s okay,” you assured him. “I think I would when I meet the right person.”
Did you think he was the right person? You were talking about coincidences and fate, so were you trying to hint at the fact that you thought meeting him was fate? That you were meant to be together?
Of course not. No, that would be too easy for him.
“I-I want to admit something…” you told him sheepishly as you leaned in slightly across the table. “You’ve saved my life three times now, and… Okay, I know this will sound crazy, but I feel like you’re like my guardian angel or something.”
That was Luhan’s opening, and he so stupidly took it.
“What would you say if I told you I am your guardian angel?” he asked quietly with a smirk.
You were naive enough to believe it, but Luhan was stupid enough to get himself into this stupid situation in the first place. So now he had to go along with this dumb lie just to get possibly one of the most innocent humans he’d ever met to be his new pet. And while he definitely didn’t want to have to act like some prim and proper angel, he knew that pounding you into the mattress would make everything worth it. So he would carry on with the stupid facade to gain your trust so he could use you for his own desires.
[day five]
It became routine for Luhan to check up on you. Well, he told you he was checking up on you. That was supposed to be his job as a guardian angel, but he was just doing it to get close to you. It was half-boring just hanging around like you did mundane things like washing dishes and doing laundry. However, it was also somewhat fun because he could just sit there and imagine all the things he could do to you in your house. He could lift you up onto the counter and take you there, or how he could easily push your head into the cushions of your couch when you’d bend over to place your folded laundry in a pile before carrying it off to your room.
“Luhan?” your voice broke him from his current daydream of sprawling you out on your counter.
The reality was that you were simply cutting up vegetables.
“Hmm?” he spoke up, eyes meeting yours as you looked back at him curiously.
“Isn’t it bad for people to know about their guardian angels?” you repeated your question. “In stories and stuff, they’re always supposed to be kept a secret. You won’t get in trouble, will you?”
‘I can do whatever the fuck I want,’ he thought to himself.
“No,” was what he replied with instead. “As long as you don’t go running off telling anybody, I’m fine.”
It wasn’t necessarily a lie. He knew how everything like that worked -- between the rules of his own kind, and the ones above. It was just common knowledge for all of them. He knew the angels knew of his rules, as well. Though, his rules were much more lenient. He could get away with far more than any angel could, such as sex. Angels weren’t allowed to even so much as think about something like that, but any demon or fallen angel could fuck anybody as often as they pleased.
Everybody may have pinned Luhan as an angel at first glance, but man, he was thankful he wasn’t one. How boring that life must be.
“What’s it like where you’re from?” you wondered as you looked back down at the vegetables you were prepping for dinner.
‘Where I’m from,’ he snorted to himself.
He noticed you never directly said the names of the places. He wasn’t really sure if you were religious so he figured maybe you just didn’t believe or something. Or maybe it felt too cliche to you to say. Or maybe you were just scared or nervous to say the names out loud. But still, he thought it was kind of funny. Maybe even a little bit cute.
Luhan had obviously never been to Heaven, so he wasn’t aware of what things were like there. He imagined everything was white and gold and pristine. He imagined everybody was prim and proper and perfect, and that somebody could have their wings ripped just for not standing up straight enough. He had a lot of ideas of what Heaven was like, but he wasn’t positive about any of them.
Then again, it wasn’t like you would know the difference between the truth and a lie.
“All of the angels wear white, and we stick to the rules closely,” he explained, trying to not sound like just the mere thought of having to abide by such stupid rules made him want to gag. “Only when we’re trying to fit in with the humans can we wear ‘human’ clothing. If we walked around in white all the time, we’d look odd, wouldn’t we?”
You looked over his current outfit, noticing the only light thing about him was his hair. Come to think of it, you never saw him in white. But he was usually hanging out in the human world with you, so that made sense to you. So you shrugged it off and went back to cooking.
-
[day thirteen]
Something Luhan could do was enter your dreams. He didn’t do it too often because he was worried you might start suspecting something, but he did do it every once in a while. The first time, not much happened. He laid on the bed with you and just talked to you. He wanted to do more, but he didn’t want you getting suspicious of him. He figured your curious and imaginative mind would assume he had some sort of angel power that could get him into your dreams, so he had to be softer with you -- at least for now. While you never mentioned your dreams about him, it was safe to assume you didn’t think he had any sort of power. But still, better safe than getting thrown back to square one.
You had come home from work looking especially stressed, so he figured this was the perfect opportunity. Your subconscious would probably come up with something to calm you down, so it would make the most sense for him to force himself into your dream to be that something.
“_____?” you heard his soft voice ask.
You were curled up under the covers, crying to yourself because you felt so overwhelmed. In your dream, there was a lot more going on than just whatever was bothering you at work, but you still ended up locking yourself in your room and sobbing. But hearing your guardian angel’s soft voice, you moved the covers from your head and looked over to see him standing by your closed door.
He frowned seeing your bloodshot and tear-stained eyes, “What’s wrong?”
“Everything,” you sniffled.
He walked over to you and climbed into your bed beside you. He got himself under the blankets and held his arms out for you, silently telling you that you could curl up against him instead of being alone in a sad little ball.
Something you did note despite being in a dream was that Luhan was dressed completely in black. He was wearing a fitted black t-shirt under a black leather jacket, black jeans that were ripped at the knee and looked a little dirty and worn, and even had black socks on his feet. But his hair was still the same beautiful blonde that made him look like a perfect porcelain doll.
As you rolled over and snuggled up to him instead, burying your face in the middle of his torso and letting your tears soak into his shirt, he began to stroke your hair back.
“Do you want to talk about it?” he wondered.
“I doubt talking will help,” you mumbled, your words almost lost in his stomach.
He chuckled at how you sounded like a pouting child, holding you closer to him, “Okay, then how about a distraction?”
“Like what?”
You could’ve written it off as your own subconscious for the reason Luhan began softly singing your favorite song. It was one you often listened to to boost your mood, and you typically found yourself humming it from time to time. However, Luhan knew that it was your favorite, and he knew that him singing it in his beautiful voice that you found so angelic would make you feel safer and happier.
And the fact that you nuzzled closer to him only proved that as an almost evil smirk tugged on the corners of his lips, his soft voice filling your ears.
When you woke and saw Luhan before you left for work, you didn’t say anything about your dream. However, he did note that you hugged him tightly before you left.
-
[day twenty-four]
“A guy?” Luhan all but growled, seeming absolutely appalled that you had just mentioned that you were going out with a guy tonight.
You nodded with a small ‘mhmm’ as you carried on with fixing your makeup in the bathroom mirror, “One of the customers from work.”
“You’ve been miserable because of work, _____!” he reminded you.
You paused putting on setting powder to look at Luhan in the mirror, “Why do you seem so upset?”
“I’m not, you can date whoever you want,” he insisted, which was true. He wasn’t here to make any deep, meaningful, emotional connections with you or anything. It’s just that it would be so much harder to get closer to you if you had a boyfriend you were going to dedicate your free time to. “I just… I mean, I’m your guardian angel, right? I’m supposed to worry about you.”
“Do you get like, bad feelings about things I do?” you wondered, still not completely sure of everything he was capable of.
“Yeah,” he nodded, knowing he could use this to his advantage. “I have a bad feeling about this guy, _____. I don’t want you to come home upset. What if he just wants to get in bed with you? You’re too innocent for that.”
“Am not!” you huffed, looking even more innocent and only proving his point.
He chuckled, “You’re still a virgin, _____.”
“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean I’m innocent! I...d-do stuff…”
“You’re blushing and you haven’t even said anything dirty.”
“Shouldn’t you not be talking about this? You’re an angel,” you mumbled, just wanting to end the conversation.
As you focused back on your makeup, you missed the way that Luhan’s eyes raked over your body, imagining pushing your face up against the mirror as he fucked you into the counter from behind and turned innocent little you into a filthy, babbling mess.
If he could make sure your date was awful, he was sure he could do it.
-
He returned that night when he was sure you were home. The first thing he heard other than silence was sniffling coming from the couch. So he wandered into the living room with his hands in the front pockets of his jeans.
“_____?” he called out for you softly. “How’d the date go?”
Hearing him bring up your date only made you cry harder, burying your face in a throw pillow as you curled your knees to your chest. Luhan walked around the couch to see you sobbing into a pillow that you were basically hugging to your face, your cries muffled by it. He sat down beside you, an evil smirk on his face that you didn’t see as he gently touched your back.
“What happened?” he wondered softly, the concern in his voice contradicting how pleased he looked with himself.
“Y-you were right, Luhan,” you sniffed as you pulled the pillow away from your face and stared down at your knees. “All h-he wanted...w-was...was…”
He softly hushed you as he brushed the hair from your face before cupping your cheek and wiping away tears with his thumb, “I’m so sorry, _____. I wasn’t hoping to be right, I just wanted to keep you safe from being hurt.”
You met his eyes, yours full of heartbreak. But you saw sadness in his as he looked back at you.
“I-I’m s-sorry I didn’t listen…” you whimpered.
He shook his head, pulling you into his chest, “Don’t be sorry. It’s not your fault and I could never be mad at you, anyway.”
As soon as your face was pressed into his chest, you cried harder, clinging to his shirt like your life depended on it. Your body shook with sobs as your tears soaked into his shirt. You really didn’t think that guy would’ve just wanted to have sex with you. When you met him, he seemed so sweet and polite and so opposite of how he was on your date. Was it all just a facade?
No, it was all Luhan’s doing.
“I should’ve stayed home with you,” you cried, your words being muffled by Luhan’s chest.
“It’s okay, you’re home with me now,” he cooed. “I’ll always be here for you, _____. You know that, don’t you? I only exist to protect you and keep you safe and happy. I won’t ever hurt you.”
He smirked to himself as he felt your arms wrap around his waist and hug him tighter. Your body melted into his, finding comfort in his embrace, which was exactly what he was going for.
You trusted him. He was your guardian angel, after all.
“I know,” he heard you whimper.
-
[day twenty-five]
It was risky, but it made sense. Luhan had to think of how your subconscious would work, and this made sense. If he entered your dream and tried to make a move now, it wouldn’t be too out there. You saw him as somebody you could trust, and since he was around everyday, it made sense for you to think of him often. On top of that, if things didn’t work out, he could easily just blame the dream on what had happened with that guy you went on a date with. You wouldn’t suspect a thing, he was sure of it. But the best case scenario was that you just indulge in your little dream he was going to give you.
Again, you were laying in bed. But this time, you were much less...covered. You were wearing only a thin t-shirt and some panties that Luhan could see from the way you were curled up into a ball. He bit his lip as he sauntered into the room, seeing that you were awake and staring — more like glaring — at the wall across the room from him.
“What’re you thinking about?” he wondered in a soft tone.
“Why are men disgusting?” you grumbled, letting out a sigh as you stayed in your position. “Like, he was so nice to me just to sleep with me! That’s fucked up, right?”
‘Oh, sweetheart, if only you knew the half of it.’
“Of course it is,” he feigned sympathy as he sat down on the bed and you felt it dip behind you. You felt one of his hands begin to rub your outer thigh softly, and the way your heart started to race at the touch was...odd. “Your virginity is precious to you and you should lose it to somebody you know well and trust, anyway. Somebody who would never use you.”
‘Somebody like…’ you couldn’t even finish your thought. You felt dirty just putting the two together. But you did trust Luhan more than anybody, and who would know you better than your own guardian angel?
‘But he’s an angel,’ you told yourself, ‘that’s wrong. You can’t do that with him.’
You shook the thought from your head as you rolled over and sat up against the headboard, sitting beside Luhan. You could feel him looking at you, his fingertips still lingering on your skin, but you couldn’t look at him.
“You look conflicted,” he murmured, his lips much closer to your ear than you thought, and his soft voice sent a shiver through you. “Tell me what you’re thinking about.”
“N-n-nothing,” you told him, feeling your cheeks heat up. There was no way you could tell him the idea you had. “I’m still just thinking about what happened.”
But Luhan was pretty sure he had an idea of what you’d thought of. He smirked as his fingertips trailed higher, and his eyes darkened seeing the way your thighs pressed together.
“Did you maybe think that...I would take it from you?” he asked with an innocent tone to his voice.
“N-no!” you insisted much to quickly to be convincing.
“Is that what you would want, _____?” he cooed as his hand pushed your shirt up until he was touching the waistband of your panties. “Would you trust me with that?”
Your eyes were glued on his hand as it trailed across your underwear and down between your legs. You absolutely knew you shouldn’t be dreaming this, but feeling his slender fingers brush over your clothed clit and hearing his soft voice so close was already getting you worked up. Would it really be so bad if you just dreamed of Luhan like this? You wouldn’t have to tell him…
‘He’s an angel, _____!’ you reminded yourself, ‘Of course it’s still bad!’
“Luhan, I—“
You wanted to tell him to stop or you wanted to dream of something else but he began rubbing slow circles into your clit, drawing a quiet whimper from your lips. Luhan chuckled as your cheeks tinted pink and you slapped a hand over your mouth.
“You sound so cute, baby,” he teased, leaning in closer. “I wonder what other noises I can get you to make…”
His lips were mere inches from yours, and you were frozen in place. You wanted to back away but you also wanted to lean in. You wanted so much more but you knew you should stop. And yet, your words were stuck in your throat.
His index finger hooked into your panties, pushing them to the side, and that was when you suddenly found your voice and your muscles.
“Stop!” you cried as you shoved away from him. You scrambled off the bed and looked at his shocked expression, suddenly feeling awful. “I-I’m sorry. I just… I know this must be a dream because you’re an angel and you can’t do things like this, and I shouldn’t be dreaming of things like this with you and— Why am I even explaining this? It’s not real and you’re not real.”
“Exactly, none of this is real,” he nodded as he crawled across the bed toward you, “so it wouldn’t make a difference if we kept going, right?”
“I-I can’t,” you shook your head, stepping back until your back hit the wall. “It would be too much on my conscience. I couldn’t ever look him in the eye again.”
“But don’t you want to keep going?” his voice was sultry like the look he was giving you, one of his hands reaching out to grab your waist. “Don’t you want—“
You gasped, your eyes flying open as your alarm went off. You quickly sat up and shut it off before your eyes scanned the room. Nobody was there, but the blankets were off your body, and your pajama bottoms were gone when you were sure you put them on. You figured you must’ve gotten too hot in the middle of the night.
You got up, turned on the light, and got changed before leaving your bedroom. As you went to the kitchen to start a pot of coffee, Luhan appeared on the counter. You gasped and jumped back, feeling your cheeks heat up. You knew he didn’t know about your dream but you were still embarrassed and averted your eyes.
Luhan was grumpy this morning because his plan failed, but seeing how flustered you were now made him smirk. He at least was a step closer now.
“How was your night?” he asked
“Fine,” you replied quietly as you stepped back toward the coffee maker.
“Did you sleep well?” he wondered. “Dream of anything?”
Your eyes widened as you softly cleared your throat and tried to hide the blush that was deepening on your face behind your hair, “U-um, no. Dreamless night again.”
Luhan sat back, licking his lips, “Thats good.”
-
[day thirty-one]
Just because Luhan was around didn’t mean you were any less clumsy. More often than not, Luhan spent his time catching you before you fell on your face or keeping you from chopping off your finger while making dinner.
But Luhan wasn’t with you 24 hours a day. You figured he must’ve had other responsibilities as an angel, so you didn’t expect him to always be around you. But when he wasn’t around, there wasn’t somebody there to keep you from maiming yourself.
Like now.
But with his perfect -- or shitty -- timing, Luhan appeared in your apartment not too much longer after your little incident. Since the living room was empty, he turned to go down the short hallway to your bedroom to find you. However, he stopped when he saw you on the floor with blood dripping from the side of your forehead.
“Oh fuck, _____!” he gasped as he got down beside you, holding your head as he examined where you’d hit your head off the corner of the wall. “What the hell did you do?!”
“I mopped the floor and I slipped,” you replied as if this was a normal occurrence.
“You’re bleeding!”
Luhan could’ve gotten up and gone to get a towel or something to clean the blood off of your skin, but he was kind of panicking a little. It wasn’t that he cared, he just didn’t expect to come into your place and see you on the floor with your head bleeding onto your shirt. So he did the first thing he thought to do: take off his shirt and dab at your wound with it to mop up the blood.
Despite the sting you felt, all you could focus on was Luhan’s bare torso. After the dream you had about him, you just...didn’t feel the same about him. You still liked him around and trusted him, but now you felt more intensely about him in a few ways. And having him shirtless in front of you and just a couple inches away, it was all you could think about.
“You’re gonna have to mop the floor again,” he chuckled. “On the bright side, it doesn’t seem bad enough to go to a hospital.”
Your eyes glued to his body, all you could do was hum in response.
-
[day thirty-four]
You really tried to control yourself. You didn’t want to be weird toward Luhan and you didn’t want to even make yourself feel dirty, but it was so difficult to not think about. Your dream about him was already bad enough, but now seeing him shirtless and so close to you while he took care of your head was…
Let’s just say, you were definitely in trouble.
Your imagination ran wild more often than not and you were afraid that Luhan was catching on. You had to do something about it because it was really suspicious how you found it hard to look him in the eyes. So you figured maybe it would be better to just...get your feelings out in a certain way. Maybe if you let yourself think about him, you could move past this weird feeling.
So you did.
While Luhan’s big plan was to make you trust him and lust after him, he didn’t think something as simple as taking his shirt off would help him with that. He didn’t even think anything had changed that day, but he was in for a big surprise when he appeared in your living room that day, realizing it was empty and figuring you were in your room.
“She better not have hit her—“
His grumbling was cut off by a soft moan of his name. He froze, eyes wide as he strained his ears to listen for more sounds. He could hear the wet sounds of your fingers pumping in and out of your heat, the way your bed moved a little as you rocked your hips against your own hand, and every quiet moan and mewl you made. A smirk slowly formed on his face as he strolled up to your bedroom door, realizing now was his chance. He took off his jacket and dropped it carelessly in the hallway as he approached your door, silently opening it and peeking in to watch you.
Your eyes were closed as you fingered yourself, imagining your dream with Luhan from the other night had gone father. You imagined your fingers were his as you pumped them faster, chasing your orgasm with flushed cheeks and quiet whimpers of his name. Your back arched just a little off the bed, and you—
Somebody grabbed your wrist and pulled your fingers out of yourself. You gasped, your eyes flying open to see Luhan smirking down at you as he brought your fingers to his lips and sucked them into his mouth, tasting your arousal and moaning quietly.
“L-Luhan?” you asked in a quiet, shaky voice.
“Mm,” he removed your fingers from his mouth and leaned down, his face inches from yours. “Don’t be embarrassed, sweetheart. I just want to join you. You’re so cute when you get yourself all worked up like that.”
You really didn’t want to tell him no. You wanted to pull him down on top of you right there, but you were too concerned about him. He was an angel. Wasn’t this against the rules? Wouldn’t he get in trouble? Then you’d never see him again.
“But what about—“
“Don’t worry about anything,” he shushed you softly as he crawled onto the bed, causing you to lean back farther and farther until he was above you. “I won’t get in trouble, I promise. My rules aren’t quite what you think.”
Finally, he pressed his lips to yours in a searing kiss that made your heart race. You weren’t really sure what to do with your hands — yes, you had kissed other people before but this was Luhan — but you found them pressing against his shoulders and pushing him off of you.
“Luhan, I can’t,” you insisted, unable to meet his eyes. “I want to, I swear I do, but what if you get in trouble?”
“What if I can make you a promise, then, hm?” he purred as he tilted your chin up with his finger, forcing you to look up at him. “A deal, kind of.”
This was it. All it would take was the deal. It didn’t even matter if he took you right here if there was a deal involved. He could take you back with him if he wanted to and keep you as long as he pleased, making you wait as long as you made him wait. He could do anything with you and to you if you said yes.
He could drop his stupid charade if you said yes.
“A deal?” you asked in a quiet voice. “Like what?”
“If you give into this feeling you have for me, I can assure you that nothing bad will happen to me. There will be no repercussions for me for these actions. Sound good?” he asked, a soft smile on his face as he tilted his head slightly to one side.
You hesitated, thinking it over. Though, you couldn’t see any reason why Luhan of all people would lie.
“...Promise?”
“I promise.”
Slowly, you finally nodded, “Then...yes.”
“Perfect,” Luhan’s voice was just short of a growl, a smile spreading across his face. It would’ve seemed like any other smile if his eyes hadn’t suddenly gone pitch black, causing your eyes to widen as you sucked in a breath. But because it was Luhan, you didn’t scream or try to get away. You just stared at him with a small hint of fear in your eyes. He was a little surprised, but he remembered how you’d felt about him. “Of course you won’t run away from me. You trust me, don’t you?”
You nodded slowly. You didn’t know what was going on, but you trusted Luhan.
He smirked, a hand stroking your hair back softly before his fingers gripped your hair roughly, making you let out a sharp gasp.
“Of course you do. Because you’re a naive little human. You’ve given all your trust to a demon who’s lied to you for over a month now.”
“D-demon?” the words barely fell passed your lips in a quiet squeak.
He nodded with a hum that almost sounded happy, “And now, because you’ve said yes to our ‘promise’, you’ve given me your soul. But don’t worry, _____, we’ll have a lot of fun.”
Lu Han didn’t know exactly what he was feeling when he found his destined partner. He always felt that his mate would be someone like his mother was with his father. Although she was fierce and can hold her own pretty good, near her mate, his mom was a cute petite delicate wolf. Growing up like that, Lu Han really believed that his ideal mate would also be like that.
Not that he hated the other types of mates, it was just that he really wanted to experience the strong and sublime feeling of protecting a mate like his father did. His father really liked to boost around about how his mate was strong alone but still needed him to be with her. So… Lu Han really thought that he needed someone like that too.
But destiny seemed to have other plans for him… Much to his parents dismay, he was now living with some friends that have around the same age as him, all waiting to find their mates and start their own packs. He started to work at a bar as a performancer while studying music and theater on college. And there was where he found you.
You were… not even close to his ideal… You were new in the town, apparently was still living in your parents pack and would start going to college to study literature.You went to his bar to apply to the empty spot of bartender that they had, dressed in all black and red outfit. Almost as a vampire hunter from movies. By the time he arrived, you were starting your trial night.
Lu Han smelled you before seeing you. Although the salon was crowned, your scent hitted him right in the face. Something like lavender and grass after a heavy rain. You also smelled him, his scent being near lotus and recently grinded ink. Stopping what you were doing for a moment, your eyes found him and you opened a smile to greet him.
He was cute and seemed dependable enough to be your mate, so you were content. But on the other end, Lu Han was conflicted… You did look good for him, your hair, your face, your body, all seemed pleasing for him. Oh, and those eyes! Your eyes shone when you looked at him and Lu Han couldn’t make himself be regretful about you being his mate.
“Oh, that is Y/n. She will be on trial this week. I guess you know her? She entered the sae college you are in, last month I think?” The manager saw him looking at you from afar and went to greet him. Now that he knew your name, he remembered hearing rumors that a girl named Y/n had gone around the college fighting bullies with questionable methods.
He wanted to talk with you but two reasons held him back: First he was almost late for his first performance and second he needed to sort out a little more what he was feeling. Yes, you were beautiful and seemed to have your morals in the right place. But… You didn’t need his protection… Or didn’t seem to at least. As he song, he couldn’t shake this light feeling of lost.
The night was nice and there weren’t much crazy clients. When he was finishing his act, Lu kHan noticed a man walking to the balcon, he was clearly drunk. The man said something to you, that shoot Lu Han a look, and you smiled before trying to distance yourself from him but the male grabbed your wrist, stopping you.
Lu Han was ready to run to help you when he heard a scream. You had grabbed the man, turned his hand and neck and smashed his forehead at the balcon. Still twisting his wrist, you waited for Lu Han and the manager to get to you.
“He harassed me. What should I do?” Your voice was melodic to Lu Han, but your tone was firm and without any trace of fear.
“I’ll take care of him.” The manager didn’t tolerate harassment in his bar but he was quite surprise with you. He took the man from your hand and lead him out of the place.
“So… Quite a weird first impression, right Mate?” You turned to Lu Han and smiled, seeming shy? That also confused the poor werewolf. “Your voice is amazing.” You opened a smile. Suddenly, Lu Han understood something. It didn’t matter that you weren’t petite and delicate, you were clearly still super cute and, from his body reaction at the moment, he couldn’t say that you being all sexy and fierce on your own were a turn down for him.
