summary: where y/n celebrates the end of the war a little too much, ending in a confession
a/n: i feel like it has been ages since i wrote something even though it's not true lmao hope you enjoy lovely!! <3
warnings: angst, mentions of war, mentions of death
universe: star wars
To be honest, you have no idea how many drinks you already have in your system, but when if not today are you allowed to celebrate like this? After the Death Star was successfully destroyed, the Empire was defeated and peace and tranquility will return to the entirety of the galaxy. The age of fear and terror is over, the time of fighting is over and you can finally let yourself go. Finally, there is something to celebrate, something you have been working towards for years. And today, after all the suffering, that goal has been achieved and you could not be any happier to be right here, right now: on Endor, in the midst of numerous Ewoks dancing and partying, with your friends who fought alongside you all those years while the sky above you is lit up in a variety of colours.

a/:n: okay, i f*cking love when facing the things we turn away from...so i wanted to give it a try to write something (probably short pieces, let's see) inspired by every song on the album. if there are any mistakes (e.g. grammar), please do let me know!
this is pt. 1 of when facing the things we turn away from series. the parts are not related to each other; rather, i'd call them blurbs.
“You feelin' alright?”.
“Just feelin’ a little sentimental, I guess”, Luke shrugs his shoulders and holds a cigarette in his hands. He swore to himself that he’d quit, but couldn’t really bring himself into it, not yet. These past few months haven’t been the easiest on him, so he decided quitting smoking would be the smallest of his worries. Still, he felt somehow disappointed in himself.
“What’s on your mind, babes?”, she sits beside him by the pool. Luke has been absent the whole day, probably caught on the songs he’s been working on for his first solo album. In spite of that, she was worried about him. Had he even eaten? Had he remembered to take breaks? She knows how he can get when he is working - he has a tendency to forget the outside world completely and work for ungodly long hours. When she arrived home, she noticed how the kitchen was just the way it was when she left. Thankfully, she had picked up some Chinese takeaway on the way.
“I’m missing all these memories, like maybe…maybe they were never mine?”, he sighs and inhales the cigarette right between his middle and index finger. He smiles slightly at her and sways his bare feet back and forth in the water. “For so many years I’ve just kept on going and going, not really noticing what’s around me. I feel kind of…foolish for not appreciating for what I’ve had…and…yeah…not really processing my emotions, at least not in the healthiest way. Partying, drinkin’ till I black out, y’know?”.
“I know this might be a silly question, but what would you change? What things would you appreciate more?”.
“When reflecting on my life, I would change how I treated people. I’d be more present, and loving. I’d show more kindness, and not dwell on my own shit for so long, if that were possible. I’d go to therapy, seek for help. I’d communicate better. I’d love and appreciate you better”.
“Mmmh, I know you are feeling sentimental. And you have all the right to be. Looking back on your life is healthy and self-reflective, but baby, please don’t dwell on it. From my personal experience, it can give you hell. The past is the past, and now you have the tools to look at your life, at this very moment. Don’t let this, right this very moment, go to waste because you didn’t appreciate the past moments, you know?”.
“I know…maybe I wouldn’t actually change a thing, because those mistakes and wonderful moments led to this where I am right now. I am here with you, and that’s all that matters now”, he damps the cigarette on the ground by the pool. He leans towards her and places his head on her shoulder. She takes him in her arms and plants a few tiny kisses on the top of his head.
"I am sorry. I give sucky advice sometimes", she giggles slightly, which only makes Luke's heart flutter. Damn, how did I get so lucky with her, he thought to himself.
“Baby…you give the best advice, thank you. I love you for that…and for so many other things”, he looks at her and she can’t do anything but be all smiles. “I love you so much, can’t even begin to tell you how much”, she answers to him and for a while, they sit in the silence and she plays with his curls in between her fingers.
“Now, let’s get you some food, right?”, she stands up and assists him to get up. “Oh, yes please, I am starving!”, Luke’s voice is full of excitement, to which she can’t do anything but giggle.
“And babes?”, she took his hands in hers.
“Mmmh?”, he looks at her eyes, studying her.
“I am so proud of you”.
“Why?”, he frowns his eyebrows.
“Cause you’ve grown so much, and you are growing… it’s kinda weird to say out loud, but…I love the state of your mind, or should I say how you express your thoughts? I don’t know. Lu, you’re just something really special”.
“Oh…that’s so sweet. I can’t tell you how much that means to me”, he smiles at her and pulls a few hair strands behind her ears, then cupping her face. His lips meet hers in a delicate, sweet, even desperate kiss.
“Clearly god has its favorites”, she laughs all while staring at his baby blue orbs.
“God damn it”.

Headcanon: Your Wedding Without Luke
(Definitely not edited)
I promised myself I would never write an angsty headcanon, but here we are... I swear someone's going to riot because of this, but we're going to write it anyways. (I'm so sorry Luke stans...)
Here we go though. For context, someone made an Instagram reel where an "unconventional" practice is to leave a seat open for the deceased... I think you know where I'm going with this, so let's just get to the story. Hope you enjoy this one!
For the timeline, let's skip to a few years ahead of the game (since we all know Luke's timeline). I think we should just assume the year 2040 and you're Rosa just to be safe.
⭐⭐⭐
Staring at yourself in the mirror, your nervous heart pounds against your chest. While your fingers play with the fabric of the skirt, your mind can't help but wander to your current situation: you're getting married. Although you knew that you wanted to get married from a young age, it feels surreal that you finally found someone to spend the rest of your life with, but it isn't the way that you imagined.
The knock at the door pulls you away from your thoughts, and Kiki's head appears behind the door. You give her a small smile before she enters.
"How are you feeling?" she asks quietly as she carefully shuts the door behind her. Trying to compose yourself from your thoughts, you sigh before answering her.
"Nervous, but who isn't nervous on their wedding day, right?" you honestly answer her as she approaches you with an expression that seems to say "fair enough." You notice how the bridesmaid dress suits her well and smile at her. "You look great in your dress by the way," you comment, and she responds with a helpless smile and shaking head.
"Not as great as you," she responds back as she sits on the couch behind you, playing with the hem of her dress. With the silence that overcomes the room, your mind wanders back to those thoughts, and you decide to voice them, knowing that Kiki would reassure you
"Do you," your voice falters for a moment before continuing, "think that it is right for me to do this?" Biting the inside of your lip and glancing behind you, Kiki looks at you with a slightly sad smile, knowing exactly what you meant to ask. With a heavy sigh, she stands up and grabs your hands, gripping them tightly in an attempt to boost your confidence.
"I think this is the right thing," she answers quietly and carefully, trying to respect your thoughts and feelings. Your mind immediately thinks back to your promise to him before everything happened, and you try to bite back your tears, trying not to ruin the meticulous makeup on your face. If I go, I want you to be happy; I want you to find someone else who can make you smile a lot, alright? Those words in your mind repeat as Kiki continues speaking. "I understand that it's hard because you miss him so much, but I think he would want to see your smiles than to see you crying in pain," she continues, trying to keep it together. "As much as you want him, you know that you need to move on."
"I know I have moved on though; I have someone I'm about to marry," you reason mostly to yourself, "but I still love him." Your voice reduces to a whisper, admitting your feelings. The tears slowly well up in your eyes, and Kiki immediately reaches for a tissue to dry them up for you. Silence returns to the room as you feel like you're betraying him.
"You know," Kiki responds as she continues to dry your tears, "it's possible to love more than one guy. You're marrying someone who accepts you even though you're struggling; he knows that you love him even though you feel like you're betraying your first love." Your mind can't process Kiki's words as you're trying to regain your composure. Her hands continue to dry your eyes as she continues to explain, "If it makes you feel better, no one is going to blame you for betraying him; they want you to be happy. You're going to miss him, but there's nothing wrong with missing someone you've known all your life, alright?" Her words finally process in your mind, sniffling as you contain the sadness in your heart.
"You really think so?" your shaky voice whispers, the words barely able to come out of your throat. Kiki's confident nod eases some of the conflicting feelings in your heart, and you're finally feel the air moving in and out of your chest as if you weren't breathing in the first place. With shaky breaths, Kiki gives you a soft smile, cleaning up the last of your tears before squeezing your hands again.
"It's time," a voice at the door calls, and Kiki acknowledges them before looking back at you.
"Ready?" she asks with a barely audible tone. You only have enough courage to muster a nod before Kiki walks with you to the aisle.
The first part of the ceremony blurs by your mind before you finally come back to your senses. Your eyes nervously look at the aisle in front of you as your father looks his arm with yours.
"Don't worry," he whispers. "You're doing great sweetie." Hearing the aisle music you planned previously, you manage to look up, swallowing the nervousness in your throat. However, your eyes catch something in the corner. You initially blink, thinking your vision is starting to fail you at a young age, but he's still there. At the empty seat you left in the front room, a suited male stands in front of it, and your eyes immediately tear up when you recognize the figure. Everything's the same from your memories of him: his warm smile, the sturdiness of his shoulders, and even his eye smile. The warmness of his aura brings tears to your eyes as you realize that you're learning to let him go; even though he's gone, he'll always support you if that means you putting him aside in your mind.
Walking down the aisle, you can feel your future husband's gaze on you, knowing that the pain you feel can only fade and that he'll support you anyways. However, you also feel your first love watching you like a guardian angel, taking in how you finally found another person to make you happy like he did. Although the music plays around you, you hear his voice telling you that it's okay that this is happening and how happy he is that you found someone else that loves you.
Reaching the altar, you somehow find the raging feelings in your heart calming down, the nervousness slowly dissipating from your body. You know that you'll miss him no matter what. You know that your heart will always long for him, but your heart eases knowing that he loves and supports you. As you take your future husband's hand and squeeze his, you know that this is what he would've wanted. You can only be honest with yourself in your thoughts before the officiant starts talking.
"I love you, Luke. I always will."

Whumpay Day 13
Nightmares
Spoiler: This is an excerpt from Judgement Day
The room around him is dark, and Luke suddenly realizes with growing dread that it looks exactly like the Emperor’s throne room. “Now you will die, Skywalker,” hisses the far too familiar voice, and he spins around, heart pounding to see the Emperor stepping out of the shadows.
This can’t be happening!
He doesn’t have the chance to look for his lightsaber or think past his panic before the Sith starts electrocuting him. All he can feel is the blinding agony burning through him.
It feels like it drags on for an eternity, like it’s never going to end, before it finally does, leaving him struggling for breath on the cold floor. Everything hurts unbearably, and where is Vader –
“Father,” he chokes out, desperately.
The Emperor laughs. “Your father cannot save you.”
A quiet moan escapes him and he tries to lift his head, but instead of Vader standing near the Sith, it’s Anakin.
The Emperor circles again, another wave of terror crashing through him, his heart pounding wildly – though how much is from his panic or the electrocution, he doesn’t know.
“Stop,” Anakin protests, frantically.
“If you will not join me, you will be destroyed,” the Emperor hisses, and
Lightning strikes Anakin next, throwing him to the floor, screaming.
“Father,” Luke chokes out again, trying in vain to push himself up. They can’t be about to die here. He has to do something to stop this –
Somehow the Emperor’s cackling rings out above everything else as another wave of electricity strikes him, burns white hot agony consuming all his senses.
Luke finds himself jolting awake, panting. He’s safe in Padme’s apartment, but it still takes a few minutes for him to calm down. He still hasn’t fully healed from his last encounter with Sidious. He can’t deny to himself that he’s scared to encounter him again, but it’s inevitable. Anakin will be beside him again, but… how does he know Anakin won’t die a second time? He tries to force those thoughts from mind as he lays back down again.
But it’s hard when he knows everything is about to fall apart, and he still doesn’t know how to stop it.
COMFY IN HELL
"And then I found out how hard it is to really change. Even hell can get comfy once you've settled in". ¹
Simeon.
(Idk why I sometimes think he is almost on the verge to fall yet reach no harm coz he already is in hell. I mean, what is stopping him other than his dangerously swiveling moral compass and morally ambiguous friends and brothers).
And because luke has to report to Michael and like growing up to be a pretty good angel and an example of peace among both the realms, maybe just maybe, someon would have to fight him and Simeon couldn't raise anything aginst Luke (he raised him after all, Luke is like his child) and Luke would eventually have to deliver the final blow making him unalive.
The idea of Luke having to one day fight devildom, which was once his home , where he grew up, found family and friends and a dad and a demon dad who cared for him (more than father- god apparently did-because where was father when Lucifer was about to attack him, or the countless times, demons tried attacking him?) Him having to fight with the intention of winning - which inevitably includes injuring ,even killing them?
I really just wanna cry😭😭 and hold the poor boi and Simeon in a tight hug
You’re the voice I hear inside my head, the reason that I’m singing (l.h)

My materialist // Wanna be on my tag list?
He did it.
After almost two weeks of not getting anything good out of his head Luke finally beat the writer’s block.
He jumped out of his seat in the island kitchen and ran towards his music room with a very excited Petunia walking behind him with her tongue hanging out of her mouth. Luke grabbed his notebook and started writing as soon as his ass hit the cushions of the little sofa he had there, getting already lost in the sound.
