Laboured breathing and unsteady footsteps near, beyond Lark’s reach. Though there’s no voice, there is the sinking, instinctive feeling he knows their owner well. But the jungle is having its fun with him.
He’d come upon a large, smooth boulder blocking his path some time ago and, as he’d moved to go around it, a thick, high wall of bark and snarled vine grew up around him. A silly little trick, but an effective trap. Climbing the vines proved useless and the boulder was too smooth to get any grip on. At first Lark wasn’t bothered by this, seizing the chance to practice attempt flight. Like some twisted jungle joke, he actually made it higher than he possibly ever had before. Not even a foot, and it took way too much energy, but he almost thought he’d get it. Eventually, though, he gave up and settled for hammering at the bark wall with his fists, his feet, his knife, any rocks he could find.
However, when he hears the footsteps and feels the familiarity behind the breaths, his efforts become more frantic. They sound hurt and, if it is who Lark thinks it is, he won’t accept staying trapped here. There must be something behind only mentally allowing the jungle to put you through so much. Because, as the footsteps slow to a stop just outside the wall and the body sounds like it’s slumped against a tree, the wall gives. The tangled vines melt away like butter and a sliver snaps in the bark, big enough to break through. With a few final, solid kicks to the wall’s weakness he tumbles out of the trap, nearly barrelling straight into a scratched up, bruised and battered—

Good morning 🇹🇿🇬🇧🌏#cupoftea☕️Four Fishermen Called as Disciples 1 So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, 2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. 3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. 4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. 7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” 9 For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken; 10 and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men.” 11 So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him. 12 And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” 13 Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him. 14 And He charged him to tell no one, “But go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as..#Luke5:1-39#PraisetheLord#WordofGod#wordoftheday#versesoftheday#newchapter#bibleverses#biblestudy#qoutesoftheday#prayernetwork#dailyinspiration#beblessedShalom#anzanamiBwanaYesu#biblia#NenolaMungu#Nenolaleo#Luka#barikiwa🙏 #eastafrica#tanzania🇹🇿 #asubuhinjema#chai#Coventry🇬🇧#lifestyleblogger#vlogger #mswahili🇹🇿#rachelsiwa🙏🏽❤️☕️ https://www.instagram.com/p/CGmXdQknLdB/?igshid=zuryqy6153qo

“I’m too much of a sinner to be around God” is terrible theology. And sadly, we’ve often led people to Peter’s theology in this passage, and not to Jesus’. “ .
