His heart goes: How dare he, a man in his 30s fumbling in love like teens? So anytime he wants to tell something very romantic to Luffy, he code switches to Flavian like he is guarding some state secrets.
Queue in third year of relationship, grinning Luffy proposes in crisp Flavian expressing his romantic affection and sincerity matching Law’s accent and tones.
A crying Law hugging the wild roses to the point of destruction be like: What? How? I need an explanation.

When the true answer is, it is Robin and Lami teaching him basics of Flavian grammar and diction and he picked rest up by listening to Law carefully over the years and religiously listening to OP universe YouTube equivalent vloggers teaching languages to dyslexic people.
