Give her monsters and mayhem, chandeliers falling from the ceiling and secret conspiracies, and Anna would have called it all good Halloween fun. Even expected in Lunar Cove. But the dead rising was one step too far, even for her, no longer a fun game or an entertaining bit of mayhem to watch from the sidelines, but Anna would do nearly anything to stay alive and she had always feared the dead. Especially those whose death were her fault. She was walking as quickly as she could away from the party, wings unfurled from her dress, a wooden stake in one hand, a knife in the other, but the closer she got to home, the more she got the feeling someone--or something--was following her. She turned, and there, lit up by a nearby street lamp, was someone she had not seen for decades, someone who she had never wanted to see again, someone who had the distinct look of rage and revenge in their eyes. Anna held the weapons out in front of her, taking a step backward as she stared at the walking dead--and bumped into someone else. She swore, spinning around to face the second person with a knife held instinctively and defensively to their throat, only to realize this time she had bumped into a friend, not a foe. She slowly lowered the weapon. Apologizing was not in her vocabulary, so instead, Anna pointed out the dead on the other side of the street. “I’m afraid we have company, Darling. I do hope you brought something useful.”
