I have something that I would like to address.
So you know how All for One has lived for 200 years? So his name must have changed several times. And in Dad for One, in some focus All for One names Izuku after his brother. So there’s One for All Izuku and Midoyria Izuku.
Well what If All for One have Tenko his first name? What if his name used to be Shigaraki Tomura? That would make OFA’s full name Shigaraki Izuku.
If that’s what happens then the battle comes full circle. All for One and One for All used to love each other too (maybe still does) so what if for Shigaraki and Midoryia, it’s flipped? What if we get Shigaraki redemption and that’s how the contant battle ends?
That's a lot of interesting ideas, and I think it would be neat in some fics to address them.
I personally don't love First's name having been Izuku- Because the kanji in his name literally mean "To come from (出) Hisashi (久)"- and I think AfO was lying about his name having been Shigaraki because one of the Doctor's aliases is "Garaki", one syllable off, and I suspect AfO gave him that name to use. But I do kind of like the idea of reversing it- of First's name having been Tomura, and maybe their family name was Midoriya.
First being named Midoriya Tomura, while "(shi)garaki" is a mark of AfO's followers, and half of "(Izu)ku" meaning someone who comes from AfO, would be Quite interesting... All the names clicking together at the end, a symbol of both First having started it all and AfO having his hand in everything, Very interesting indeed
As for the cycle, well. I don't think Shigaraki will want to be redeemed, but I do think it's very telling that like one chapter after Izuku yells that "he'll never forgive" Shigaraki, he's using all his energy to try and crawl to him in order to help him and save him from AfO. Izuku might just drag Shigaraki through a redemption arc no matter how much he kicks and screams that he doesn't want it lol
