Lyra Rogers, the myth, the legend.

Lyra: what’s it called when you’re so disconnected from reality that cold water doesn’t feel like anything and you can barely taste food anymore
Liu: depersonalization
Jeff: locking in
Toby: Thursday
GAH!! LYRA!!!!!! WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT!!!!!!!!!
She came back to LIFE!!!!!!!!
Process ↓
The sketches are so old cuz I abandoned this for like.. 5 months? And then came back to finish it
I was wondering something. I'm currently designing a Creepypasta 19th-century AU, and planning the effects of Toby's Tourette's syndrome on his character during that time period is a real challenge for me.
So I've decided that he could not feel any pain since his birth, and his father, who was a part of the royal army, decided to exploit this by turning him into a literal human weapon who cannot feel any pain, which means Toby had to endure hard training sessions since he could hold a sword.
But Toby got scarlet fever when he was 12, then it evolved into PANDAS syndrome, which is the cause of his OCD and Tourette's syndrome. However, this neurological disorder was not known in the 19th century, so the doctors attributed it to Sydenham's chorea at first. But his tics were really different compared to chorea-caused movement, so they changed the diagnosis to "habit spasms" within a year. And his dad started to view this as a will-power issue rather than something uncontrollable like chorea, so he forced Toby to train again. But it went awful, and he even cut his jaw one time, which caused her sister Lyra to snap and argue with their dad.
Oh yeah, long short story, but basically Lyra wanted to learn how to fight with swords, and she had a natural talent for it, but her dad did not approve of this. Then one day, he caught her practicing with swords in the forest, and because he was someone who respected power&talent more than anything and was kinda tired of Toby (before his illness), he agreed to finally train her. This was 2 years before Toby's illness, and she was a fast learner, so Lyra was pretty good at that time when they argued over Toby.
She knew their father would not give up on this project even if Toby could die; she also observed that his tics would become worse whenever he was under pressure. So after some convincing (which was really difficult), they agreed that Lyra would train Toby and display what they did after 3 months. She managed to teach him how to fight without fighting himself over tics; they got the approval after 3 months to continue like this, and they eventually developed special techniques where Toby would use his tics for his own benefit for surprise attacks, as they would be unpredictable for his opponents. It was not easy and took years. I mean he learned how to fight with his tics, and not against them. Later, he even managed to learn how to use them for his own benefit.
Then after some years, Lyra and her dad went to war (they summoned anyone who could hold a sword, and Lyra was among the best), and they talked over letters for 2 years, and Lyra always mentioned how it was going so well, and they could return within a few years. Then a surprise attack occurred; Lyra immediately died before she had a chance and never came back, but their dad came with an amputated leg. Oops.
Anyways, would doing something like this be considered ableist? Because I'm not sure how well I can integrate Tourette's syndrome into the 19th century.
And the fighting was inspired by someone I've seen on the internet; she was an amazing dancer before her PANDAS syndrome started. She loved it so much that she taught herself how to dance with her tics, and she even shared a video where she was actively managing and fighting with an attack that occurred in the middle of dancing, and she managed it so well. It was very amazing and inspiring to see.
Also, I know it's unrealistic, but c'mon, this is creepypasta fantasy AU.
Happy (late) Juneteenth!
Ah Goddamnit, like TDOV and my Pride post, I'm late and look like a Goddamn fool!
Anyways, here's my POC headcannons:
Jeff & Liu - Asian (Japanese)
Jane - Black
Nina - Black, but she also has vitiligo, and I'm just gonna fucking say it: having vitiligo or albinism doesn't erase your color, Michael Jackson died black; he never stopped being black beyond a literal sense.
Zero - Black, but she's also albino, still black cause fuck you.
Lulu - Blasian (Vietnamese)
Bloody Painter - Asian (Chinese)
Hoody/Brian - Black
Masky/Tim - Native
Toby & Lyra - Brown
Nurse Ann - Brown
Korbyn - Brown
Lazari - Brown, but also albino
X-Virus - Latino (Mexican)
Clockwork/Natalie - Pale Hispanic (Pourto Rican)
Max Stone & Rachel Shook - White but very much invited to the cookout
Everyone else - Sadly white, my AU is still in it's infantcy though, so maybe one day I'll return to finally do my part as a Woke Leftist and erase all the crackers from my AU.
All I got,
Peace & Love and all that hippie shit ✌️❤️
More shipnames
Also I included a Luring Lyra ship as an apology to @anothercrpworkshop for just making a semi-joke ship last time
I made every confession that mentions Luring Lyra and that makes me really fucking sad
Might delete later…..(-_-)zzz
(No I’m not)
