PART 2!!!!!

IT IS DONE. THE LAST ART PROJECT. FOR SCHOOL. GONE.

And I should probably mention: I made the entire book myself from scratch with Butchers paper (just some old lookin paper i found) and glued all the painted pages in after I had stitched the signatures together and then I fitted it with a cover made of two layers of cardboard and then wrapped it all up in a fabric covering to give it that Spellbook Appeal (I didn't have the time or patience for leather or anything of the sort so I just had to make do) . It took two school afternoons to assemble it, but I am glad its done. The little Fox bookmark was a loose end from one of the strings I used to sew the signatures together, and I kinda wanted to include a ribbon/bookmark of some sort so I plated it together with some left over string and BOOM :) the fox bead I thought was a nice touch, along with a Duck feather (it changes colours with the light!)

The project itself took roughly a month to complete from start to finish and ended up being 14 pages long (it was presumed that no one would go over 10, and most of the other kids in my class only made 5 and stuck to Paper covers). If I could change anything, I kinda wish most of the pages weren't so messy/rushed (LOOKING AT YOU PAGE TWO) But overall I am happy, and this is probably the closest thing to a physically tangible, published novel my Old Story will ever get to. And I'm ok with that.

Edit: I got an A+!!! My teacher loves it so much and she couldn't believe how well it turned out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She especially liked the last page (she hadn't seen that one in the drafts I was working on!)

I wanted to come back to the Pop-up idea (though it didn't really quite work for this one BUT ANYWAYS) remember my last post...?

This was a part of the scene that happened directly before 'Sad Machine' at the end of the chapter (whwn written) and I wanted to include a Night scene of some sort in my Zine (and attempt to flex on my Galaxy skills haha) and yes, idrawmountainslikespikeswhatareyougonnadoaboutit

The song for this one was Wolves Without Teeth from Of Monsters and Men ("And I Run From Wolves" if yall can't read my hand writing)

Another Zine page! This one kinda relates back to the story I waa writing, it was the only scene that i had finished writing, the one that was the most fleshed out in the story and over all was just my favourite scene to write and read back on. Ah, those were the days....

Last page??? Last page before I put this together??? Idk how many I've done so far (edit: 14 PAGES oml) i am tired and i just wanted to get this one done with so sorry if it looks a little rushed :P

SAY THESE GUYS LOOK FAMILIAR!!? they might as well've straight up walked out of my old sketchbook haha. Boy, I haven't drawn old man on the far left in AGES. Kinda missed him tbh. And the lady next to him??? This is probably the first completed drawing i have of her (sad, i know, but she never made it past a character description in draft notes back in the day...)

This particular scene was inspired by a crazy dream I had kept and eventually written into the story, rhino-croc. There was a standoff between two beasties (not the ones from the Lionheart page, but includes the one on the left) and the MC had Bipiti-Bopiti-Get herself outa there despite having (spoilers) made new friends and met her long-lost family.

Also this song from a really cool amv i found, because I am tired and needed to throw the lyric in Somewhere.

Ayy this was another scene that I had almost completely written out (second to 'Heroes'), added a little more recently to the story before it had been shelved. A touching moment where the Main Character (ie the little Dragon) had paused on her journey just to enjoy the snow :D

I was actually pretty excited for this one, I had been wanting to try out a snow/woods scene

This page was inspired by a rather pretty cover of Sad Machine, but I included a line from the original song (here) since i wanted to include a reference to the song.

Edit: I showed my art teacher this and she said that the sky and foreground/background fading is lovely and that clouds are actually quite difficult to paint with watercolours but I somehow I got it???
