Next up is Maacah, the fourth wife of David HaMelech. She was married to David after he went to war against her father, the King of Geshur. Maacah's son was Avshalom, who rebelled against his father to avenge his sister. I gave her the pattern of swords in the background to symbolize her status as a war-bride. I used Anne of Cleves's costume in Six as an inspiration.

Absalom

Absalom was the third son of King David, by his wife Maacah. The bulk of Absalom’s story is told in 2 Samuel 13-19. He had a strong influence on his father’s reign.

Maacah, daughter of Talmai king of Geshur

Maacah {also seen as Maakah} is identified as the daughter of Talmai, King of Geshur.  Her marriage with David was probably an alliance between David and the King of Geshur. The only reference I could find to the meaning of her name was on Biblenews1.com which says “Ma`akah means fondling female, or pet.”  No citation for this was found on their webpage and no other reference I searched provided…
