Found on the Mentawai Islands off the west coast of Sumatra. The macaques' natural habitat is rainforest, but they can also be found in riverine and coastal swamp-forests. They may sleep as high as 45 metres (148 ft). The primary food of the species is figs. They will eat alongside groups of Mentawai langurs.

to put the basics, I never posted on tumblr i just read on there. i just wanted to share that theory (those theories) that's been scratching my mind for life more than at least 6 months (yeah .. that's long) and a friend told mebthat I better post it somewhere and decided tumblr cuz : first, I got friends who are anime only on TikTok so I d on't wanna spoil them and also that I feel like it's easier to get spoiled on TikTok than on tumblr and second (important) English is not my native language! ple1se correct me if I did grammars error. I'm french so I directly translate the French sentence to English and I also learn English via int3rnet (fnaf, gacha life, mangas, ect..) wtv I'm just yapping at this point •́⁠ ⁠ ⁠‿⁠ ⁠,⁠•̀

I. CANIS BEING THE WATCHMAN;

So I feel like it's a pretty common theory for the mangas only, bir for those who don't know the thozry ler me explain (from my perspective, if I forget things please remind me in comments) :

1. Canis and the Watchman serie. Canis was the one wearing the Watchman serie, people made a link of the watchman serie and the watchman itself. I think (like probably every1) that the Watchman serie was called so after people (idk who but some people who named it — maybe Kuro) decided to name it watchman's serie as a possessive form but then it turned, by the years, to be Watchman serie bcs people never said the 's. In a way it seems not important, when you think ab it, it actually is… like when people were talking ab the watchman's serie then they knew it was someone’s. now it’s jusy Watchman serie, like it got a name but they don’t know it belonged to someone like it's not a giveaway (I got a small hc ab Kuro, who knew Canis became the watchman and decided to make it a thing in every1’s mind by using the Book of the Watchman serie whatever sad yaoi husband trying to make everyone know ab some bs bcs he lost his hubby and want every1 to remember his husband because he doesn't want him to be forgotten)

2. Canis and his connection with Greek mythology. Well… I think we all know that Surebrec is Cerberus but inverted. For those who don’t know, Cerberus is a three headed dog who guards the gates of Hell to prevent death from living. Idk how to start it but GUYS please follow me on that one, first of all — if Canis really turns out to be the Watchman, then it would make even more sense.

Especially with how the Watchman is the one guarding the Border, observing it and making sure no one leaves their land except if they carry a Watchman with them. Actually we gotta interpret the Watchman serie as a passport between the Sphere and the Ground, I feel like Canis can only sense someone wearing the Watchman because it was his jinki (fanon) as a human, so he still sense his human soul divided in each part of the Watchman and that’s how they can cross the Border. But those who don't have it? They directly go back to where they came from (Ground). And I think that this logic only applies to the Groundlings. If the Groundlings knows ab the Spherites, then that's because they get the bodies too. The Watchman only protect the Groundling from going to the Sphere, not the other way around, because Canis is from the Ground. And I don’t have the rest of this part, I'm indecisive it’s because he wanna stops the Groundlings from doing smtj to the sphere : I believe that Canis feels deep hate for the Ground as the population down there may have done something to the Sphere that he seemed to cherish. Especially with how he talked in his will!! One day I'll talk ab his will bcs it's such an important lore thing if I ever get the courage to post.

In conclusion of the 3 (talking ab références of Cerberus and his purpose) ; Watchman = Canis, the Deads = The Groundlings (is that even how you name them??...) and the Border = the Gates of Hell

But let's go back to the theory. The watchman have three “heads”, three “eyes” (circles) that also reminds me of the “Bermuda Triangle” (the triangle but also ab the legend of this place, which is that it transport you to another dimension — in this case, the Ground or the Sphere), that thing is literally Canis you can’t tell me otherwise. LIKE ERVERYTHING QB THAT MAN SCREAMS “I’M THE WATCJMAN!!! IITLS ME CANIS SUREBRZC!! I TURNED INTO THE WARCHMAN!!"

3. Canis’s scar/bandage. When he was writing his will, we got a slice of flashbacks : he seemed in a hurry, nervous, anxious and most importantly ; Canis had scars/bandages on his hands to his wrists to his forearms like Rudo does. And in the anime (it's more clear in it), when we see the Watchman from Noerde’s perspective as she fell from the trashbeast, we could see the same pattern of scars/wtv this is on the watchman's hands to his forearms. There was also someone (I don’t remember the username) on tiktok who talked ab a theory that the one who bears the scars in the Surebrec family will be the next watchman, which means in a way that Rudo could be the next watchman. Plus, a bigger sign (it's still fanon don’t take it as canon, just spéculations), even without seeing Canis in the anime, we see Rudo’s scars and the Watchman’s hands/forearms pattern, so there’s DEFINITELY a link between them.

4. Canis and the “four best friends” (or the most important people to him—i'm still hesitating and half believing in that one). Now that’s just me thinking so, but did y'all ever notice how the Watchman had five spikes in his back? Could be a signification of Macaca Icol, and the three others best friends that we saw on the mural in Canva Town. Maybe when Canis transformed, he thought of each of them and a spike grew on his back? Tho I also believe is one of the best friend to who we don’t know the name is Kuro, just don't know which one (I'm thinking ab the eye one—Kuro being able to see everything n all). Or maybe he's the seventh Watchman and which number of the Watchman they are show by the spikes idk I'm just making things now.

But the 7 could also be for smth else, 7 is the number of God. I'll save that for later tho

I think that’s all for the theory of canis being the watchman WELL I THINK THZT’S ALL. I MIGHT EDIT A’D ADD SOME THINGS I FORGOT BCS I KNOW MYSELF ZND I PROZBBOY FORGOT IMPORTANT THINGS.

II. THE WATCHMAN.

sooooo… here we are to the main subject. the infamous watchman. it’s so weird?? like??? we don’t know that thing’s specie, we don't know what age is that thing, we don’t know its gender (probably don’t have one) and it’s just so scary like?? why is it there at the border?? I can't imahe how scared are the Groundlings who knows qb that thing are. Especially Noerde. How tf do you recover from that

but anyway

I didn't yapped that much ab Canis for it ro be thrown by the window, I was saying all this for a reason.

And the reason is, I think, that the Sphere is the Watchman's vital instrument.

1. The Watchman and Canis. I just yapped about their connections, but I'm gonna talk ab Canis as the Watchman now. W!Canis for Watchman form Canis and H!Canis for human form Canis. And keep in mind everything I said, because it’ll be connected.

In my perspective, Canis turned into the Watchman when he offed himself, like his curse was freed from his body and could finally take its own form, the Watchman. It probably was a thing in the family to turn into it and protect the Ground, observe the Border and restrain the Groundlings (could be seen as the dead) and the Watchman as Cerberus. (Who knows who Hades is in that univers, maybe Macaca? But anyway, I'm drifting from the main subject again (⁠ ⁠･ั⁠﹏⁠･ั⁠))

I think that the Watchman is paralyzed, it cannot move, so all it does is watch (literally its name), and it seems that the Sphere is the only thing he can actually watch. So maybe, by the amount of years it spent watching it, it grew an attachment to it + cherish it. And y'all don't think it’s weird how the Sphere got resources, while being a floating piece of land? Well, I think that the Watchman is the one creating the resources as the Sphere is his vital instrument. It's just like that, it should be seen as a kind of playhouse for it? Like when you play with your Barbies as a kid and decide what to give them, how to style them and all.

But not only that. Also that H!Canis seemed to cherish it too, so as W!Canis, it could only make more sense for him to cherish it more by observing and giving it resources. I think that’s all for the vital intesumenet part.

2. W!Canis and his senses. The five objects of the Watchman series are about sense : R3 for touch, Mishra for taste, Boots for smell, Connect for hearing and Book for sight. I FULLY believe that W!Canis can actually feel everything from the user, he can hear from the user, touch from the user, taste from the user, smell from the user and see from the user. Ex : Zodyl eat a bug, then W!Canis will feel the test of it on his tongue and will let Zodyl uses the power out of the thing he ate. I don’t know how to explain or put words on it, but like, yk, they unconsciously ask permission to W!Canis when they activate the jinki.

And someone (I forgot again) said that Enjin might have the sixth one if it exists, which could be intuition and it might be the thing in his bag. I mean, it could make sense, but then how does he use it if it's always in his bag?

III. THE SPHERE

This one is gonna be quick, it's a bonus theory, but the sphere TOTALLY knows ab the Watchman and might even be their God. In some way, they might see the Watchman as the protector of their land, the one who gives them everything, their “God” in little word. And that could explain Tamsy’s motives, not only because he wants to break Rudo to free his curse (the Watchman curse if we follow my theories), but also because he wants the direct descendant of their God to free itself from a foreign body and finally come back to its true form.

Like, they (Sphere government/royalty + the most important people of the Sphere) believe that the Watchman had been trapped into a new body, which could explain why (in their perspective) the Watchman had been inactive these years. Since Rudo was born, the Watchman was inactive as its curse was sending itself to Rudo, like the scars on his hands/forearms could be the curse and his curse inside is his heart. The anima of his scars were eroding in his whole body, but used the veins to attend to his heart, where they attacked the most and filled it with anima, to the point that it looks like a curse.

Furthermore, to bounce back on what I said ab the numer of spikes on its (his?) back, 7 is a holy number. It would make only more sense if the Watchman was perceived as the God of the Sphere, and perceived as one of the Ancient Ruler of the Ground

Anyway! That’s all. Idk if I put everything and if it made sense, I'm staying at my grandparent’s for a week bcs I got an internship n they’re the closest to the place, so I'm tireeeeddd.
