Delight in the elegance of homemade French macarons with this basic recipe. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, these colorful treats are perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients: 200g almond flour. 200g powdered sugar. 150g egg whites aged and at room temperature. 50g granulated sugar. Food coloring optional. Flavor extract e.g., vanilla, almond; optional.
Instructions: Put powdered sugar and almond flour through a sieve and mix them in a bowl. If you want to use food coloring, add it to the dry mix. Whip the egg whites that have been aged in a different bowl until they are foamy. As you whip, slowly add the granulated sugar until stiff peaks form. Carefully mix the dry ingredients into the egg whites that have been whipped until everything is well mixed. This is the batter for your macarons. Put the batter in a bag with a round tip for piping. Place small rounds on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. To get rid of air bubbles, tap the baking sheet on a flat surface. For the macarons to get a skin, leave them at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes. Prepare the oven by heating it up to 300F 150C. For 12 to 15 minutes, or until they have risen and set, bake the macarons. Leave them on the baking sheet to cool all the way down. The macarons should be carefully taken off the parchment paper once they are cool. Put them together based on their size and shape. Put a little of your favorite filling like ganache or buttercream between two macaron shells if you want to. Put the filled macarons in a container that won't let air in and put it in the fridge for 24 hours. This will give the flavors time to blend. Before you eat them, let them come to room temperature. Serve these delicious French macarons and enjoy them!
