So my mom is mad at me because I'm not leaping for joy at the marriage equality thing, and I tried to explain to her yeah it's the tip on the issue but it really goes deeper than that gay ppl and trans ppl still get beat up and will continue to be bullied beat up and murdered (not to mention the amount of suicide from bullying and such) and she's mad saying "oh you can't even be happy for one minute you think this isn't good enough this is it this is what we were working for and its over now everyone is equal" so I tried to explain how yeah it's great but it's like women getting the right to vote, it's the tip of the issue while women and people with vaginas still tend to be payed less and treated badly and the sexism we deal with is still you much so it's not equality if there's still the majority of a group still being treated badly, so she said "oh okay so we should all just not have that right anymore because our female brains can't handle the decision" but when I mentioned the unequal pay she started sCREAMING THAT SHE COULDN'T TALK TO ME ABOUT IT BECAUSE MY INFERIOR TEENAGE BRAIN DOESN'T UNDERSTAND and then she just explained to my brother of 15 years old that there is in fact a wage gap while simultaneously silencing me on this, can y'all help me with a good argument to make next time she goofs and I need to lay down some sick argument on her?
