I think he used to have his moments even before Steve when bits of Bucky would show through in between the gaps of his Winter Soldier programming.

Summary: after several failed matchmaking attempts, Steve finally gets Natasha to stop setting him up with random people. The only problem is, how is he supposed to find a boyfriend in a week? An unexpected solution to his plans appears in the form of the hot brunet that runs the local bookstore.

“How about Amelia? The one that works at the coffee shop downstairs?” Natasha questions Steve as they walk out of their latest mission debriefing. Steve replies with a long-suffering sigh.

“Come on, Steve. This girl will be different than the others.”

“The last person you set me up with asked me for strands of my hair. He literally told me that he would pay me if I’d give him my sweaty gym clothes.”

Natasha grimaces. “Okay, so maybe Kevin was a bad idea, but in my defence he seemed like a perfectly normal guy.”

“And how do you know that Amelia is any different?”

“I’ve actually talked to her. She’s super sweet, and she has an adorable dog! You’ll love her!”

Steve rolls his eyes. He can’t even remember the amounts of dates he has been wrangled into going to. If Natasha is one thing, it’s persistent.

After a bit too much Asgardian mead at their last party, he ended up revealing that he was lonely and wanted to get into the dating world, but it was just too confusing nowadays with the apps and the people just looking for flings. Natasha has since then made it her job to find the perfect guy or gal for her teammate turned friend. So far, the results have ranged from highly disappointing to downright disastrous dates.

He’s fed up with dating. All anyone cares about is his fame or his body (the one that still doesn’t feel like his own). They want him for sex or connections or to post on social media that they were the lucky winner, as if Steve were some sort of prize and not a human being with feelings.

“I can’t go out with her,” Steve says as they enter the elevator. He silently thanks god that it’s empty so no one will have gossip about his non-existent love life.

“Why not? She’s single, you’re single. Sounds like the perfect match to me.”

“I’m already dating someone,” Steve blurts out. As soon as those words leave his mouth, Steve regrets them, but he doesn’t outwardly show it.

“Really?” Natasha raises a brow. The elevator arrives at the common room floor and they both step out.

“Yeah,” Steve rubs the back of his neck. Although he knew there was a close to zero chance that she’d actually believe him, he might as well try.

“And why didn’t you tell me?”

“Tell you what?” Tony interrupts their conversation, grabbing the attention of the rest of the gathered team. Steve doesn’t think his luck has ever been worse.

Can I post Explicit or Suggestive Content?

Yes, however, the content must be tagged properly to allow people with those tags blocked to avoid the work. The appropriate warnings must be in place and minors should be discouraged from interacting.

When do I have to complete the prompts by?

The prompts are posted on a week by week basis but that does not mean you need to complete the prompt in that week. Any and all prompts need to be completed by the 31st at the very latest.

Do I have to post my works to the AO3 collection?

No, but it is encouraged. If you simply want to keep your work on Tumblr then that is perfectly ok. If you only want to post on AO3 that is also ok. As long as it is posted somewhere.

Can I combine prompts?

Yes, you can combine the prompts across the weeks. As long as you specify which prompts you have combined from each week.

What if I still don't understand something?

Shoot me an ask. Don't hesitate to ask me anything and everything regarding the project!

Does my submission have to be a new work?

Yes, the point is to create something new and challenge you on a potential new area of creation. There would be no point if you simply submitted some old work from a separate challenge

What type of work can I submit for the prompt?

Any form of media that can be posted: Art, Animatic, Fanfiction, Head Canons, Poem. Any form of media like that can be posted for the event

Can I post ship content?

Yes of course, just make sure you tag it correctly and don't bring your ship into a space where it is expressly not wanted. Respect others and their choices within the fandom

Can we add/make OC's and/or Self Inserts - Yes, 100%

When will the prompts be posted? - 12AM Every Friday (AEST)

Can we combine prompts from other events? - Yes as long as the prompts is still Marvel focused

Can you submit the form more than one? - Yes of course, I encourage it

Are crossover's allowed? - No, this is a Marvel only prompt challenge

What type of prompts will there be? - All types, from dialogue prompts, to character prompts to single word prompts
