I am sitting here at the patio

drinking my coffee that has gone cold,

'You should find a job,' Mom said.

'I have only been out of job for three days.'

"Still," Mom said.

I kept silent as I sighed.

I paused my writing. I paused to look at the sky.

A flock of birds are migrating. The sun is yet to rise.

I kept silent. Even though, I want to shout,

'Mom, can't I take my time?

I don't know what I'm doing. So can't I just take my time?

I am weary of grinding in the city with no joy in me.

I am weary of rushing the time. And rushing to places.

I want to watch the daffodils blooming.

I want to feel the wind against my skin.

I want to fly like those birds.

Can I just sit here for a while? And just be?'

But I kept silent.

Tomorrow, I would find a job. As my soul dies.
