Today’s job, buttonholes courtesy of this beast the Iron Duke aka the Reece 101. The only machine to mimic a hand stitched keyhole/eyelet button hole, complete with gimp thread, cut after sew. All our denim comes from 3 family run mills in Japan, two of which date back to the 1800’s. We visit every 18 months when possible and when we go we take the opportunity to stay in #kurashiki most people know of this small town because of its rare Bikan historical centre. For us we stay there because it’s the birthplace of Japanese denim. In the 1880’s the same decade the #dawsongarage was built Kurabo denim was weaving in this town.
