Am i the only one who can listen to sad songs such as My Immortal by Evanescence and write a sad little story like this without getting a tiny bit sad at all? Nope just me, okay then.
Padmé Lives AU Short Story:
Padmé finished tucking the children into bed for the night. It has become a nightly routine for her, and she knows she will never stop doing it. She takes a step back to gaze at her children sleeping peacefully. Her son, Luke, and his shaggy blonde hair, crystal clear blue eyes, and vibrant personality. She switched her gaze to her daughter, Leia. Her brown locks, and fiery brown eyes displayed her mother's intelligence with her father's determination and bravado. It haunts her to know how similar her children are to her Ani. It splits her heart into a million pieces, turning it into some mosaic painting that hung in the halls of Theed Palace during her tenure as Queen of Naboo.
Padmé averted her gaze from her children and instead stared into the mirror on the other side of the wall. She looked at herself and was disgusted by what she saw. Tears tracked down her face like the majestic waterfalls of Naboo. Her porcelain skin is so pale and frail she looks half-alive, but the most frightening thing she noticed were her eyes. They looked so dull, empty, numb, and devoid of life. The sad thing is it's true, no matter how much she fought to live and survive for her children, that spark she needed in her life was gone, and only a shadow of the woman she used to call Padmé Amidala still exists. The thought makes her choke out a sob in pure agony and longing. She quickly composed herself for the sake of the children and walked over to her cot in the corner of the room that she made on the floor. She lied down and closed her eyes to await the haunting memories that plagued her dreams every night.
Just because Padme Amidala lived physically, hasn't meant her heart hasn't been killed infinitely.
