Shadowhunters S3 E2 Recap

I’m dubbing this episode: Malec 2.0 aka the Episode that killed an entire fandom.

I will be beginning this review with Malec (for obvious reasons):

Malec:

2 Words: Warlock Party. Man oh man did this party provide or what? Not only did we get to see ‘I’m better than some of these people and slightly bitter’ Magnus, but we also got to see Alec holding Magnus back by placing his palm on Magnus’ stomach. That cute little gesture killed me.

Most importantly during the warlock party we got to see Magnus doing his badass magic, but we also got to see Alec turning his back to the whacked out magic in order to save Madzie.

That’s right, you heard me. We got to see Madzie. Aka malec’s daughter. Let me tell you a thing. This little girl RAN UP TO ALEC AND YELLED ‘ALEC’ AS SHE LEAPED INTO HIS FUCKING ARMS AND THEN THEY STARTED TO PLAY HAND CLAP GAMES TOGETHER. FUCK ME NOW AND LET ME DIE IN PEACE.

After BARELY surviving this moment, I got slapped in the face by Magnus’ cat eyes. Ugh.

According to Izzy, Malec loves their date nights #confirmed

Alec steals Magnus’ shampoo #confirmed. Home boy was walking out the bathroom with it and you know he didn’t bring it back. Magnus has probably been wondering where all his shampoo went lol. It’s okay Alec, your future husband will make you all the fucking shampoos.

I felt like fighting this entire episode. You threaten Magnus, and you have me to deal with.

Uh oh truth came out. Alec now knows about Magnus’ daddy, and guess what?? He doesn’t give a damn because Alec loves Magnus for Magnus and not for who he used to be or who his parents are. Come my child. Cry with me.

Alec even does the cutest confused face thing when he doesn’t understand why Magnus can’t understand how much he loves him. But Harry and Alec did so well this episode. Magnus had to drudge up the past, putting his fears all the table only to have Alec support him fully.

THIEF IN THE NIGHT MALEC. lol these shits actually conned a man so they could get into his house. Alec pretending to stall gave me all the life.

So many AU’s. Give me all the AUs. Thief AU. Daddy AU. Shampoo maker AU. Fancy party attending AU. Ugh. Bless the writers. The Malec gods have delivered.

Can’t forget Alec laying down the fucking law like the Boss he is. Yass my precious gay baby.

Malec is the ship I deserve. The ship you deserve. The ship we deserve. The ship the world deserves. We got cute touching, cute comments, lots of screen time, an actual plot, shampoo stealing, heart melting moments, and a fucking kiss all in one episode. Whew. I’m tired. Let me die now.

The rest:

Glad to see Clary drawing again. Clace and Saia (SimonxMaia) had the worst double date ever lol. Talk about butterfly tattoo awkward. Lol.

Simon and Maia need more screen time.

Jace needs therapy

Isabelle needs a fucking story line and her character deserves better than being used as a shut in who just helps out everyone else

Seriously, give Isabelle a storyline

Like Detective Isabelle or something. Hot damn.

Jimon fans, rise. “It’s only a matter of time before I sleep with him myself.”-Simon. Okay Si, I see you. Lol. Also, the seelie queen branded Simon with some bad ass mojo shit. Can’t wait to see where this goes.
