Wing practice
one of those "what type of villain are you" quizzes that I have finally completed after a few months of making it. hope you like it <3
Boy heroically puts horse conditioner in princessās hair without a momentās hesitation
Iāve never seen so much discourse about horse-and-people hair products but please know that your comments have absolutely made my day
now this is a horse product people SHOULDĀ use
@celticmess
no bc literally mane n tail conditioner is another level
iād use it if my horse didnāt try to kill me every time i attempted to bath him
Zombie setting where the undead are drawn towards unhygienic scents, so survivors constantly bathe to avoid being eaten.
Zombies are docile when adorned with flowers.
Settlements overgrown with herbs and flora.
Barely any banditry; everyone is focused on farming and gathering.
Different human factions and towns named after flowers like Lilies, Orchids, Roses, etc.
Instead of immediately killing an infected survivor, theyāre given special funeral rites - the zombie is covered with flowers to keep them calm, andĀ allowed to walk out from the settlement to join the hordes.
#this makes me curiously sadĀ #the idea of flowers covering the undeadĀ #that symbol of human love is what makes them docile
me to zombies:
Thank you all for the responses!!!! I got a few more notes to share from folks asking me about this setting :D
Itās incredibly risky to attack zombies. The scent of the attackerās aggressive intent coupled with spilled pungent rotten blood drives other zombies into a frenzy.
Zombies given funeral rites grow flowers within their bodies, eventually bursting from their chest and head area. These zombies are naturally gentle and their presence tames other zombies in the vicinity. Due to their helpfulness, itāsĀ taboo to harm ābloomingā undead:
Sweaty summers are the worst and everyone hopes they have enough dried flowers to last the winter.Ā
Itās a colourful apocalypse! An overabundance of flowers in the world leads to plenty of dyes and busy little honey bees!! Scented candles are a thriving export.
Survivors who help spread flowers, look afterĀ ābloomingā undead, cull the hordes, and herd zombies away from safe areas are affectionately called Florists.
Regular weapons such as guns and knives are still used but everyone prefers perfumed water guns, spray bottles, and incense.
Zombies are so overwhelmed by the pleasant scent of rain that entire hordes cease movement until itās gone.
Can everyone who reads this PLEASE reblog it?!?!?Ā Libraries literally saved my life as a child!
Being abused at home, bullied at school and lost in the world, the library and all the books I could escape to the most amazing worlds, kept me alive!
I would walk to the library, and spend all day, from 10 am to 9 pm reading there!! I got special awards for how many books I read, I wrote little blurbs on why i loved the books (probably why I love to BETA and do ARCs)Ā
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Just hit the green arrows and the reblog!!!
As a 50 year old woman, the library offers me so much. Digital art pads to borrow, 3D printing, book clubs that are face to face (yeah, the introvert likes face to face because a moderator will stomp on anyone getting snarky)
New books in LARGE PRINT! Iām visually challenged and as much as I love my kindle, The feel of a real book in my hands will always be a beloved feeling!
Our library also has quarterly books sales of almost free books!! For 5$USD we get in a day early and can buy as many as we want. Anyone else has to wait and there is a limit for the first 2 days.
Also many, many libraries have inter library loan(it may be called something different). This means if they donāt have the item you want, they can get it for you. This may include photocopy/pdf of articles. This can also include along with books and DVDs, microfilm/fiche which is also a huge resource. Check around for libraries that are listed as depositories if you want to look at government documents.
Remember that many colleges and universities have open stacks for the public. You will likely have to pay a membership fee but you will get to stuff.
I love the library āŗ
The library was one of my favorite places to go as a kid and I still live to go and just. Sit and read. Or do homework. The university Iām at has a massive 8-story one I love to just wonder around in~ Great places
Iām absolutely not against robits in the home, I think the possibilities are really cool but like⦠Alright actually, hereās a side by side comparison:Ā
Alexa can play Skyrim tho
Damn youāre right.
Iām on mobile can somebody add that as a point for Roomba.
here you go
Roomba creates maps of the inside of your house
Youāre like the 400th person to add this so:
This is the outline of my bedroom, with approximate furniture. Information I might not want handed out to the government or corporations or whatever. Not even including dubious terrain like rugs and clutter:
Hereās what a roomba, at floor level, with clutter and obstructions and stuff-under-stuff might be able to āmapā as navigable area:
This is completely useless to anybody except people developing robot vaccuums who might want diagnostic data. This isnāt even close to the level of Alexaās microphone bollocks. Hit Alexa with a hammer, Roomba is⦠Safe, for now.
I saw the red and blue and my first response was āRoomba is using this sensitive information for GERRYMANDERING purposesā
SWAT team, bursting into your room, having been briefed with detailed Roomba-collected maps: *avoids difficult rug*
technically arenāt the people in fandoms that like intensely adore a villainous character and jump straight to another one when they appear also minions by definition
next time can you just come kill me in person it would be kinder
Follow up contender includes Chicago the musical and Light Me Up by The Pretty Reckless.
Got tagged by @lemon-wedges , I tag @beauandarrow @forbiddenstars @spiderqueen98
I did not have sexual relations, for the record
Iāll tag @that-bat @ash-wants-to-btl @undercovercottonswab and anyone else who wants!! š
Iām gonna tag @nightwillow18 @sheehans-bih @thesebrkenbones and @oddsxnxends (and whoever else wants to do it :) )

donāt you think itās weird how no youtubers/streamers ever talk about smoking as in cigarettes?
like smoking weed is literally more talked about than tobacco from what iāve seen at least
like esp with british content creators, like those who donāt smoke are a minority in britain from what iāve seen
idk man itās just something i think about
here are some things I just heard:
a door slamming
someone exclaim āoh, you sneaky bastardā
the sound of a bell jingling down the hallway
someone at the end of the hallway gasping āhello beautiful!!ā in that very special Iām-talking-to-an-unexpected-cat voice
some things I heard myself:
a light thud
someone exclaimingĀ ālisten here, one of us can see in the dark and itās not me, so weāre gonna have to figure this outā
a meow
literally every minor sound from the street carries up to us since itās so narrow, last year this happened:
a deep voice goingĀ āHEYā
me immediately concerned, it is dark, what is happening
same deep voice:Ā āWHAT DO YOU HAVEā
the playful jingling of dog tags
āWHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR MOUTHā
jingle jingle jingle
Some context for the destruction of that Aboriginal site:
When indigenous ppl complain that their sacred sites are being destroyed and they say stuff like "we have a cultural connection to this place" "if we can't come here it's like ripping off our roots" "we need this place to communicate with our ancestor spirits" etc., white australians are conditioned to handwave statements like that away with shit like "oh well they're just saying that, it's just a random tree, they'll get over it, obviously ancestor spirits aren't real, sacredness of trees isn't real", and that is total bullshit.
Aboriginal sacred sites are integral parts of highly sophisticated mnemonic techniques that have been proven to preserve information for (i know this sounds hard to believe but) at least ten thousand years (they accurately describe coastlines that are now underwater, or dry areas that have since been rainforests for 7000 years, or extinct megafauna etc.)
Physical features (either in one place, or along a track known as a songline) work as subheadings in an encyclopaedia. Ritualised teachings tell people what rituals or song cycles (like subheadings in an encyclopaedia) to associate with specific visual cues, and then those songs all contain stories that have (for example) systematised knowledge of every local animal and plant, contained in songs for easy memorisation. White anthropologists mostly handwave these techniques away as "animist beliefs" and "ancestor worship" but in reality it's this extremely sophisticated system of knowledge that's something like a cultural encyclopaedia, and that's why it's such a big deal when this fucking anglo settler state and its profiteers destroy these locations like it means nothing bc "oh it's just a tree" or "what it's a rock they'll just go to another rock"
In case you all need it said: this is cultural genocide.
Have you ever heard of the memory technique of having a giant house inside your head where you "store" bits of knowledge associated with household items in specific locations & to remember it you can mentally walk yourself to where it is and supposedly never forget anything again? Their physical walks are exactly that, and as the above states, wondrously accurate. Destroying the path and features destroys vital cues for priceless ancestral knowledge preserved for millennia.
There's a really good book about this called The Edge of Memory and it's available online free as an EPUB!

Reblogging again because Tumblr hides links in reblogs but here's a link to a book about this subject, The Edge of Memory by Patrick Nunn
hey abled people if you have friends with chronic pain you need to be making a concious effort to accommodate them. you need to be taking breaks so that they can take a break. do you know how humiliating it can be to make the whole group stop becsuse you had to ask for a break from walking? take the pressure off of them
ableds need to shut the fuck up on this post I hate you all so much
trans people do not owe you their backstory. they do not owe you their deadname, their pre-transition pictures, their coming out story, their heartache. trans people who are stealth are not ātrickingā you, trans people who are open about it are not āfakingā. there is no one trans experience, no specific narrative trans people have to fit.
also, if youāre trans, i love you! remember to drink some water today.

the fact that at the council of elrond glorfindel is like ājust throw the ring into the oceanā is so funny to me after reading the silmarillion just because it feels like the subtext is him being like āyeah letās try maglorās patented and tested method: Just Yeet The Accursed Fucking Thing Into The Waterā
#in fairness they do do literally the other fĆ«anorion approved method of magical item disposal #glorfindel: we could do like maglor and throw it in the ocean? #elrond: no weāre doing like maedhros and jumping into a volcano via @lesbianlanval
*at the council of Elrond*
Elrond: Alright, everyone listen up. We elves have 4 methods of dealing with Accursed Fucking Objectsā¢, as demonstrated by my four parents.Ā
Number 1, the Elwing Method or Mom Method. This is to hide the accursed fucking thing away and keep it safe and close. This is highly not reccommended if the object can take over its user like the ring can, and Sauron will be searching for it, so this method is out of the question.Ā
Number 2, the Earendil Method or the Dad #1 Method. This is, send the accursed fucking thing across the sea or to some higher power. According to Mithrandir, the Valar will not take it and Tom Bombadil wants nothing to do with it, so this is also out of the question.Ā
Number 3 is the Maglor Method, or Dad #2 Method. This is to yeet the accursed fucking thing into the ocean. In this case, it is not a good idea as Ulmo will be very upset and we will still have to contend with Sauron.Ā
The last method is the Maedhros Method or the Dad #3 Method. This method is to yeet yourself into a volcano while holding the accursed fucking thing, and also the method we will be using. You will not have to yeet yourself into the volcano, only the ring, donāt worry, Frodo.
Thoseā¦those really are the four methods arenāt they?
@procrastinationonvacation how dare you hide this in the tags
@justmemyselfandthefridge Why look, hereās the half of the Silm fandom that actually has braincells
I added Duke :)
