Ariette is a “divine nymph” — a being deeply connected to nature, the heavens, and the underworld. She alone has the power to cause the flourishing or the death of most living things. Only one “divine nymph” can exist in a lifetime, which can stretch the length of centuries.
Over a millennium ago, the role of “divine nymph”—also titled “The Holy Maiden” or “Divine Mother”— was first blessed to a mere human whose efforts led to Earth being cleansed from the sins of her brethren. Appointed by the heavens, every holy maiden dedicates their lives to preserving true beauty and erasing any signs of corruption.
Ariette was born as a favorite to most immortals but an enemy to those in opposition. While she has a compassionate heart, a hidden hunger stays temporarily dormant. There’s only so much a nymph can take before mortal sins shadow her soul.
