Julith is nicknamed the witch/sorceress, and witches exist in the World of Twelve (Goultard had married a witch/sorceress in the past), so let's imagine that Joris is a sorcerer instead of a Huppermage?
A kind of dark sorcerer like his mother?
That would be interesting, and he could very well have specialized in killing huppermages, and would be nicknamed the Mage Slayer (as Tot had said in a comment on X)
Losra Ebiti, half-elf resistance organiser in Sinria, "the city of Devils". Pronouns to be determined. Losra is now a contact for some of the PCs in case they ever want to be part of an uprising in Sinria.
I described some of the undercity folks as having more warpaint-like makeup, so I wanted to give Losra that sort of look. Then I realised I had never actually considered what that looked like, and it took me an hour(?) to settle on this "horned" design, which is worn to show solidarity with the marginalised tieflings.
Mage Slayer Infinite: Anime Climactic Battle Scene
"Jack, I'm sorry," Dredmur looked at his brother, who's face he had just scarred as Mordred.
Finally, his brother had gotten through to him, but was it too late? Was their brotherhood irreparable? Had he done too much damage?
Jack put a weary hand on his brother's shoulder, "Sometimes you do a good job of pissing me off... but you’re still my brother, always."
Dredmur sighed in relief, but as he looked at the Great City of Camelot seeing the evil he had released, his heart grew heavy. The Master Balor had been released, Dragons and Giants ravaged the land. The city was on fire with Baloric fury. "I did this to them."
Jack stood next to his brother, wiping blood from his mouth, "There ain't no doubt about it..." He put his hand on his shoulder turning his brother to look at him, "But... you and I can fix this together."
A fire renewed in his eyes, once the traitorous Mordred balorspek, now he was Dredmur the Mage, with his brother, Jack the last knight of the round table, both the sons of King Arthur, they would face this evil and defeat it.
Jack took the Sword of Balor in his hand, the ancient weapon that could defeat any Balor, and as Dredmur held the magic staff of the Great Merlin who he had killed as Mordred.
Jack looked at Dredmur, "Ready for this, brother?"
"Born ready, brother!" Dredmur said.
As the brothers clasped arms, their combined power erupted like a dam breaking. The ground beneath them cracked and splintered, arcs of lightning surging from their bodies. Jack’s eyes gleamed with a blinding white light, his hair igniting in golden fire. Dredmur’s aura crackled with violet energy, his hair rising like a storm cloud as the staff of Merlin pulsed in his hands.
“Let’s finish this, brother!” Jack roared, his voice echoing across the battlefield like a thunderclap.
“Together!” Dredmur shouted, his voice layered with a magical resonance.
The Master Balor loomed ahead, its shadow swallowing the light of Camelot’s flames. It raised a massive, clawed hand, summoning a tide of dragons and giants to its defense.
Jack leapt first, his sword blazing with radiant energy. A beam of pure light shot from its edge, carving a path through the dragon horde. Dredmur followed, his staff unleashing crackling arcs of lightning that surged through the air like serpents, striking dragons and riders alike.
“You’re slowing down, Jack!” Dredmur teased as he blasted a dragon from the sky.
“Save some for me!” Jack shot back, grinning as he spun through the air, cutting down another foe.
But as they pressed forward, the Master Balor moved. A blast of dark energy erupted from its core, slamming into Jack and knocking the Sword of Balor from his hand. He cried out as the light around him flickered and faded, his body plummeting toward the earth.
Dredmur’s eyes widened. “No one attacks my brother... EXCEPT ME!” With a roar, he unleashed a storm of magic at the Master Balor, violet lightning and blazing light crashing against its dark shield.
Jack landed on the ground with a thump, his breath left him in a gasp. The world around him blurred as Dredmur called out to him, “Jack Don’t Give Up!”
Opening his eyes Jack saw the Sword of Balor which had landed end first in a massive stone, the light within the sword swirled and faded.
The Master Balor reached for Jack, cutting him off from the sword in the stone! Dredmur’s chest tightened in fear, “No! Not again!”
The staff in his hand pulsed with raw energy channeling his regret, his self anger for betraying his brother, his home, his family, with a loud guttural shout, Dredmur the Mage shot a storm or lightning blasts at the Master Balor knocking him to the ground with a crash! Jack rushed for the sword, knocked slightly off kilter from the earth shaking from the Giant crash, Grasping the glowing sword in hand, he yanked it from the stone, power returning to his body as he floated upward attacking the Master Balor’s core as Dredmur kept the creature's limbs at bay with magic chains conjured from his staff as Jack stabbed down in the core with his sword, as it cried out in despair, and turned to ash, as giants and dragons were the last to be fought.
Jack landed on the ground as he sheathed his sword the energy leaving his body. Dredmur floated down still glowing with energy reaching out his hand, “Not bad for a traitor, huh?”
Jack clasped his forearm, “I don’t see a traitor here, only my brother.”
As the last of the monsters were finally defeated by the knights, the people of Camelot came out of the rubble of their homes scarred, beaten and battered, but still alive and ready to rebuild what had been lost. So I wrote this after watching sonic 3 for the second time in theatres, and while listening to Live and Learn, which is the sonic climactic battle soundtrack, it is a possible ending for Mage Slayer, but in an anime power up battle, I loved the ending from sonic 3 and I wanted to write this scene to be similar, now the actual climax will not actually look like this, but it was a fun inspiration for the possibility for this ending. Let me know what you think I wrote this in about an hour listening to that song on repeat without stopping.
