Pen Talk: The Other Warlocks
(4/1/17) As you may know, I am kin with two of my original characters. One is Kai, who I talk to much about, and the other is Road, who I never talk about. Well, today, let’s talk about him. Road is a Warlock, the last surviving one out of 9. He, and his family, were born from an Angel and a Demon to help recreate the world after the Holy War. They each gave gifts and things to the world, and basically made it what it was. The Warlocks were originally immortal, but then a bad situation with me and an Angel caused the rest of my family to be made mortal for helping me out of said bad situation. I don’t want to talk about that yet. All you need to know is that I blame myself for my family’s death, and I really have never gotten over it. That being said, let me tell you about the other eight Warlocks!!
Li was the Life Warlock, and she made all humanoid life on Earth. She was so motherly, but really bad at it, you know? Like, she’d always wind up burning every dinner and breaking things. She was a sweetheart, but a bit of a mess. She based the original people, Humans, off of the Angels and Demons, but when the Humans killed themselves out in a war very similar to the Holy War, she based the next round of people off of the Human’s myths and legends. Jeki was the Animal Warlock, and they made all the animals, obviously. I remember being with them in the early days, when they were present for each new animal’s birth. I gave medicine, so I was the best at checking on the newborns. Jeki always had so much love in their eyes, it was amazing. Moshi was called the Gardener, and he recreated all plants. He was so creative and excited and loved to paint the earth in beautiful flowers. He was bad with people though. He never understood why they had to talk.
Aro was the Love Warlock, and he gave emotions and stuff to the New Beings. He got along really well with Ko because they loved to share stories of love and heartbreak. Hati was the Faith Warlock, and she gave religion, mystery, and faith, but most importantly, she gave magic. She really regretted giving religion to the Humans because of how much they fought over it. She thought that it would give them a moral compass, but they twisted it and destroyed it. The New Beings in the book don’t have religion because she took it from them.
Muri the Light Warlock and his twin, Nuni the Dark Warlock looked nothing alike. Muri was a giant with black skin (not our black. I mean real black), and Nuni was a little tiny thing with light skin. Muri was the one who cleared the sky of all the ash from both the Holy and Great Wars, and he put it in his skin which was why it was black. He also fixed the weather and gave safety. Giving safety to the New Beings killed him. Nuni gave risk and adventure to the New Beings, because she wanted them to have fun in life. She also gave mechanics, but only because we made her. She was the first to die when i was saved. She was a really good fighter, and fought with the Angel. He killed her directly
And finally, Ko, the Beauty Warlock. He gave stories, and beauty, and art and expression to the New Beings. He physically gave them his voice so that they could express themselves, so he only spoke a special sign language that only I understood. (the others tried, they did, but they just couldn’t get it, mainly because it wasn’t standardized. It literally changed on his mood). I was closest with him, and I mean really close. He was beautiful and I cared a lot about him, and when he died, I was devastated and sent into the downward spiral that I was in until Morgana and Neo managed to pull me out.
I’d give anything to see my family again, just for a little while. They were never supposed to leave me, but when the saved me from that Angel, he cursed them and made them mortal. One by one, they left me. And while I know what happened to me wasn’t my fault, it was my fault they all died.
