Just some facts I've put together that I wanted to get out of my system.
Mageth has two moons, the red Sula and the yellow Lasu. The Goddesses Mayla and Kirno are currently imprisoned in them for starting the Einkan Civil War as a form of divine grounding.
The Gods are generally chill people who respect each other and the free will of mortals, and will usually only step in if they feel like something is very, very wrong. Ysalia's Divine Intervention, in which the nature Goddess channeled her in Karen for the righteous cause of preventing faunans from polluting Mageth with fossil fuels, is an example of such.
Part of the reason Ysalia was able to convince faunans to give up on fossil fuels is that magical technology allowed things like solar power and wind power to be invented long before they were on Earth.
Putting your hand over your heart is a sign of respect, usually reserved for government officials.
On the flipside, officials being forcibly removed from power by the populace is not unheard of. "Forcibly removed" ranges in definition from "peacefully protesting until they stepped down" to "a bunch of people actually physically dragged them out of the government building." The former is more common, and the latter has only happened once, because the official in question was a lunatic who could have actually started a third Great War.
A symbolic form of love confession is to give your beloved seven items in the colors of the rainbow, as the rainbow was made as a gift from the Sun God Calwen to the Rain Goddess Melua. Replacing indigo with pink or turquoise is not uncommon.
Instead of black and white, couples typically wear light and dark purple at weddings.
Relatedly, "purple" is a slang term for cool, awesome, or neat.
The slang term "Stay fly" is either given as a well wish for the person to stay alive, or as a warning to remain constantly vigilant.
There's a sitcom about a large extended family living in the equivalent of rural east coast US that has been going on for long enough that the characters who were originally young children now have children of their own. It also went through a dark age and then came out of said dark age because it went on long enough that the people involved in causing said dark age left the show. This fictional sitcom is called "We're All Family" if you care.
Most houses in Mageth are built out of stone rather than wood, because accidental magic surges can seriously fuck up a wooden house, and they're pretty common in babies. They fade as one gets older but even as an adult surges are a possibility. Plus, magic allows stone to be easily transported and carved.
