Quick Magi Rant...

I HEADCANON YUNAN AS AUTISTIC

And yes I’ve done research on this. Certain symptoms that I have taken into account about autistic people that relate to Yunan are as follows:

Light and sound sensitivity (sensory processing issues). Yunan canonically dislikes bright and open places and has the ability to hear things from very far away. He’s agoraphobic, which means he hates large open places, and it’s why he stays in the great rift, because that’s his safe space. He also isn’t very good at picking up social cues or common cultural mannerisms. This much is more evident in the manga but he really just doesn’t care and does what he likes, then gets a little stressed out when he feels as though he’s being scolded at. Yunan has been reborn several times and that’s sure to throw him for a bit of a loop as well.

To me it just makes so much sense. And before you think anything along the lines of “he doesn’t look autistic” what the fuck do you think an autistic person looks like? Yunan is a grown-ass man so YES he’s going to be able to take care of himself and he lives in a time and place where he has no access to anyone that could properly diagnose him.

Please remember as well that autism is a spectrum and not all autistic people are going to have the exact same symptoms, it’s not a virus.

We don’t get to see a lot of Yunan as he doesn’t really have a proper arc or anything (at least as far as I’ve read) so I don’t have a lot of evidence for this, but it’s a huge comfort headcanon and felt as though it needs to be shared.

I myself am not autistic and cannot speak on behalf of the disabled community, this is simply an opinion of mine and what makes the most sense to me. I mean no disrespect to anyone with autism in real life. :)

Give David a backstory. The thing that was so disappointing about David’s character is that we don’t know anything about him, aside from his prophetic chapter that gives some insight, but not enough. I think he had the potential to be a really complex character (I mean he is in his own way) but it kinda falls short since we don’t know why he even ended up the way he did. I like David, but he was a pretty lackluster villain in the final arc and received no development. He could have been the best villain imo

ARBA. EVIL TRAITOR ARBA. MOST BADASS WOMAN IN THE MANGA. Arba suffered through the same thing as David where she didn’t get much backstory and we never got to understand why she was so obsessed with Illah. I’d definitely expand on her entire backstory and her relationship with David more, because Arba is a very intriguing character. 

ALMA TORRAN CHARACTERS. I don’t care what anybody thinks, this arc was amazing (although it does have its flaws, believe me) and these characters are wonderful and deserved better. And what I mean by better, is more screen-time and development. There’s a lot we didn’t get to see or know about these characters. That’s what sucks about this arc, characters like Sinbad have arcs to explain his character, these guys were limited to one. And it’s not like they have a spinoff to expand on them either…overall, I’d give these characters the attention and development they deserve (especially Ithnan, Setta, Wahid, Falan)

Speaking of Sinbad, honestly I’d give this guy less screen-time. Sometimes I grew tired of him. Don’t get me wrong, I love Sinbad, but he got way more focus then he needed. And that took away from other characters who also deserved focus. Sinbad may be an interesting character, but he is not the only interesting character. 

Aladdin. My boy Aladdin. This boy is the main character, yet he got the off-screen treatment. A lot of things happened to him that we didn’t get to see. Sometimes time skips can do more harm than good. I see a lot of people give him shit he really doesn’t deserve, but I honestly can agree with some criticism he gets. Anyways, I’d give this boy the development he deserved. Also flesh him out more, make him go through things, have him make mistakes, learn and grow from them. Make him seem less ‘perfect’. Just because Aladdin isn’t like Judal or Yunan doesn’t mean he’s not an interesting character.He is an interesting character, even if some people in the fandom like to bash on him. Unfortunately, he didn’t truly live up to his potential. At least in my opinion.

There’s actually more I can say, but these are at the top of my head. Also, these are just my opinions on things, you don’t have to agree ^^

Disney villains

Have you ever thought about the evil stepmothers and queens in Disney movies, like if they're evil why did the dads marry them? And then you thought back about your ships in animes and movies: For example, Sinbad x Judal And it clicked in you.

Once David was defeated, the world went dark. Destruction peppered the land like stars on the sky, and the four-man troupe can only gaze with pity and hope. Bidding farewell, Aladdin and Alibaba went back to Morgiana and Kougyoku, while Hakuryuu stayed behind with Judal. The Magi looked troubled by something, and Hakuryuu was driven to ask, "You're still thinking about him, aren't you?" Judal would be lying if he said no. Besides, it's not often for Sinbad to trust the world's safety to them, especially Judal. "Magis are supposed to guide King Vessels into making a kingdom. One that could be etched into history of mankind," said Sinbad a long time ago, before this whole fight ended. "Do you think Hakuryuu still needs that guidance?" Sinbad's glance at him hurts more than he thought. "Don't you want to follow the fate written for us, the one where you're by my side?" Judal regretted looking away and leaving Sinbad that time, because that was the last time he met that stupid king.

I am writing a fic based on what is happening in Magi recently, but it's purely my imagination. Characters consists of only Sinbad and Judal (of course), cuz they just fcking need to SIT DOWN AND TALK. Like chill, and talk. No weapons.

Some Judal thought

I wonder what was his first word? Al-Thamen? Kill? King? Rukh?

Who actually took care of his baby needs? Diapers? Milk?

When he had his first steps, did the Al-Thamen cheered?

If he doesn’t have any good memories as those, is it too much if I wish for him to be my son in his next life?
