I feel really, really sorry for Castiel as a character. You know, I used to love him, he was badass, Misha was good looking in season 4 & 5, powerful, etc. His story was truthful and meaningful till his death in Hello, cruel world. I can even accept him after that, I passed by his scenes and everything, but it was 'meh'.
What he became the last few years is just.... Wrong. Where was the hero people saw in him? Where was the powerful, badass character that I think pretty much everyone liked the first few years?
And then he was reduced to THAT cringey scene.... And most of that is Misha's fault. I really do feel sorry for him, maybe if Mushi was a decent human being, Castiel would have been long gone with decency, he would have had a meaningful goodbye for a character that was important to the show as a villain*to me*, but still.
Seeing how protective J2 are of Sam and Dean, how they try to give the best with the awful writing the show has come to have and how Misha treats his character.... I feel even more sorry for Castiel, he deserved a better actor to play him, to show him respect.
I just feel bad for the good Castiel fans. True, I don't like him at all now, but they and him as a character (not half of a stupid ship) deserved better.
That's why wincest is better, because non of them has his importance reduced to the fact if they screw or not.
Exactly. I was a big fan of Castiel when he first showed up. When he died in Hello Cruel World, I was sad to see him go, BUT I felt it was a dignified ending.
Then he returned in that godawful OOC trenchcoat scene. THAT was a sign of things to come.
You are right, IF mishmash had been a decent person, he should have accepted Castiel’s death and moved on (as so many SPN alumni have done) instead he got his buddy Singer to twist Sera’s arm to bring his untalented ass back to the show. And here we are now.
We thought his AU and Lucifer Cass’ were bad, but his teenage girl in love!Cass was the cherry on top of a lot of bad acting choices.
