Okay, I'm nearly done with Out Of Spite, Out Of Mind & I'd like to request membership in the Brit Haters Club cause girl WHAT THE FUCK??
First off, was there a fuckin gas leak?? Why is everyone in this book so fuckin stupid except Gwen & Jimmy?? Now he's one of my favourite characters cause the rest of y'all are fuckin morons!!
But Brit's the dumbest of all. Maybe I'm too poly to understand but I truly don't get how bothered she is at the idea of Phillip hangin out w Brit The Elder. I understand her bein upset about bein lied to & the secrets kept, but she had an issue w him seein her before all that.
Also her freak-out over no one helpin her doesn't hold any water! It's not like Phillip, Jimmy, BtE & BtME didn't just spend MONTHS tryna figure that shit out without tellin you to keep you safe & not scare you.
If it was meant to be some commentary on women havin to do the lion's share of work while men pretend to help, I would understand that, but if that's what it's meant to be it's poorly done & Scott ain't got the range for it.
And regardless! Even if you think no one is gonna help you, takin a beat to at least have some amount of certainty before you do digital brain surgery on yourself is maybe a good idea.
It's so selfish too because, yes, this will eventually happen to you & you're the epicenter. But this has already affected Phillip & all of Atlantis. It's bigger than you & may kill everyone in existence, past & future. It's fuckin childish to ignore that.
AND ANOTHER THING
When she went to change that code, she had everyone in the mime boxes. They couldn't move, couldn't speak, couldn't use magic, and because they couldn't change anything, couldn't die. If she'd fucked herself up to the point of bein incapacitated, she'd have just resigned them all to a fate worse than death.
