This was the storyline I needed and deserved

Ancient

No one was quite sure when Wild had left.

But everyone marked the day he returned.

He only said his Hyrule was safe. Everything was alright now.

No one talked about his limp right arm, or how frustrated he looked when he fumbled with more sensitive things like cooking or tying knots. Nor the geometric burns or the torn sleeve. Those were Personal Questions; meant only for the asker and the askee.

They did ask, though. One by one, in a clearing close to the camp, many days apart, they asked about it; the arm, the burns, why the arm was limp....

Wild never answered.

Only First didn’t ask. But again, he probably knew exactly what Wild had gone through. Hero’s Spirit privileges, and all that.

One day, Wild asked for Hyrule to speak privately with him.

In the clearing, Wild activated an ancient green magic, restoring mobility to the arm.

After gauging Hyrule’s reaction, he asked a question:

"Can you teach me proper spells?"

Hyrule wasn't prepared. Nonetheless, he accepted.

“...I can try. What can you do?“

Wild demonstrated the only things he could do with the ancient magic; eliminate malice with dragon-like claws and coat his weapon in spirit energy.

And so, Hyrule taught him. It was slow, both knowing this was new for the other.

Carefully, Hyrule demonstrated the powerful healing magic granted by his hidden Triforce, releasing the energy in golden swirls of light.

Wild did the same, although problems like releasing it too fast and accidentally cutting a bit of grass arose.

By the time they worked out the problems, Twilight was calling them.

Wild’s arm depowered, and Hyrule’s hand stopped glowing.

It would take time, but soon enough the Chain would have a second itemless magic user.
