Another successful immolation and series of attacks launched at the Heritage Witch! ☆

This is what we started with:

On the right we have the interior of the effigy with images of Agenda 47, the Heritage Witch, and its various familiars. On the left is the window effigy sealed and covered with the ‘attack’ sigils. (I love how it looks like colorful butterflies are swarming the window!!)

We had rain this morning so it took a bit to get a nice fire going but as soon as the effigy hit the fire pit it was off to the races.

As always, the ‘attack’ sigils were incredible to watch. The bright yellow and green flames were particularly prominent tonight!

At this point, the window effigy opened up and the images of the Witch and its familiars were immediately engulfed in flames! It was such a cool moment to witness!

It didn’t take long at all for the effigy to completely burn down. Despite the damp start, I think this was the fastest that the effigy was reduced to ashes! I’m not sure if it was because of the materials used this time or what but it seems as good as an indication as any that the opposition to Trump’s admin is growing in strength and voracity.

Snape’s showing against Minerva McGonagall in Deathly Hallows is unbelievably impressive. It truly is. He’s amazingly skilled as a duelist. While on the surface it looks like a defeat for him, what is often forgotten is that Snape is undercover. He isn’t going all out. He’s actually operating under two heavy restrictions.

First, he cannot kill, nor heavily injure McGonagall, as he knows that there will soon be a battle. Preferably, he would not injure her at all. Second, he must make it look real, since he’s undercover. 

It’s hard to state how difficult pulling something like this off is. This isn’t some scrub, this is Minerva McGonagall, master of Transfiguration, Head of Gryffindor, a fully realized witch, who has known him for years. And he’s acting. She is trying to kill him, and he convincingly acts out a fight, leaving her with no injuries of any kind, keeping his cover and coming out the other side without a scratch on him. And when given an opportunity to retreat that he could justify to the Dark Lord in the arrival of the staff, he takes it. Which makes sense, as not only could he justify it, but he would have lost against all the staff. (McGonagall, Slughorn, and Kingsley fought off Voldemort, and I doubt Flitwick was less skilled than Kingsley, being a dueling champion and all.)

Hmm, wondering if I should conduct another hunt for the Heritage Witch and its minions for this year’s Walpurgisnacht…

With the admin’s popularity steadily declining and more folks questioning its actions, I think that keeping up with the work would be prudent but I’d love to know if others would be on board to help!

With Walpurgisnacht/Hexennacht tonight, I want to plead my case one more time (even though I feel like that grandpa in the corner yelling at clouds):

Walpurgisnacht (a Christian celebration for the Feast of Saint Walpurga, also known as Saint Walpurga’s Eve) and Hexennacht (Witches’ Night) are annual celebrations celebrated by several different cultural communities on the 30th of April into May 1st.

I’m not sure where certain people in the community are getting their information but Walpurgisnacht the Stage Machinery Witch from Puella Magi Madoka Magica has not historically appeared on or around this date.

Around this time last year, I was the only person in the tags talking about Walpurgisnacht and that was in relation to my Walpurgisnacht working to combat the Heritage Witch. To be fair, the Heritage Witch is certainly an analog for Walpurgisnacht the Stage Machinery Witch, as I see it as the current source of our world’s strife and it is similarly an enemy one magical hero alone cannot defeat.

I’m not sure what combating Walpurgisnacht the Witch tonight would accomplish, as there is no information to support that it has an effect on this world. And while I certainly welcome and applaud the eagerness exhibited by some of the puella magis in the tags, I want to encourage the community to think critically about this and any hype that gets passed around. It is not difficult to do cursory research and do your due diligence.

And if you want to contribute to a battle that I believe has had an effect on the American political landscape, there’s still time to send in ‘attacks’ for the Heritage Witch and its minions! I’ll be collecting them until around 8PM Eastern tonight. ☆

I’ve been seeing some misinformation starting to spread in the irl magical girl tags so I wanted to put this notice out sooner rather than later:

I want to reiterate for the magical hero community, particularly puella magis, that Walpurgisnacht the festival and Walpurgisnacht the Witch are two different things!

Walpurgisnacht (the festival for the Feast of Saint Walpurga) and Hexennacht (Witch’s Night) occur annually on April 30th into May 1st.

That being said, I have no evidence or reason to believe that Walpurgisnacht the Witch from Puella Magi Madoka Magica has historically appeared or will appear on this date.

If you want to direct your energy towards a big bad, consider joining me in my hunt for the Heritage Witch, Agenda 47, this week culminating on the evening of April 30th! The Heritage Witch, much like the Witch Walpurgisnacht, is a formidable foe that requires attention!

hey !! i saw you making posts about Madokami, Homucifer, and kyubey, and was wondering if you could make a post on walpurgisnacht and the upcoming walpurgis day ? its okay if not though !!! love ur posts :)

Hi! So, Walpurgisnacht the Witch from Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Walpurgisnacht the celebration are very different things!

Magica Quartet definitely took inspiration from the feast day of Saint Walpurgis for the naming of the big bad but little else—unless you consider the carnival-like elements of her Familiars as a reference to the festival celebrations. I’d be more than happy to discuss this further in a future post, if that’s what you’re looking for!

However, I have used the conflation of the Witch and the holiday in my Heritage Witch working, which I did on Walpurgisnacht last year and I’ve been toying with reprising it for this year! If you want more information on that, you can check out my write-up here:
