Fic List #1 (of Many!)

If your favorite fic isn't on here, don't worry, this is NOT a competition or anything of that nature, these are just fics that I typically first think of!! (if I didn't @ you, feel free to be like HEY THAT'S ME, I tried to find you all!!!!)

This is the first list of MANY. I Intend to hopefully share each fic from Ao3! NOW, SOME OF THESE ARE LOCKED if you do NOT have an account, be warned when you click the links!

With Love by @magiccatprincess: There are plenty of things you can do with love, but when does something really count as having been done for the name of love? (The infamous In the Name of Love fic, it's a good one to cry to)

Mythology of Love by @silvormoon: A magical world where the cast of Boueibu are gods and priests. Parts are numbered in chronological order, but don't necessarily need to be read that way. (This inspired my own God AU ngl)

Mean Boys by @deuterium51614: Teenage Yufuin En was educated in America. When his family moves back to Japan, En finally gets to experience high school in Japan and gets a quick primer on the cruel, tacit laws of popularity that divide his fellow students into tightly knit cliques. He unwittingly finds himself in the good graces of an elite group of cool students, the Student Council, dubbed "Caerula Adamas," but En soon realizes how his shallow group of new friends earned this nickname.(It is an indisputable fact that, if the curry incident never happened, the plot of Boueibu would be almost identical to Mean Girls, but with magical boy elements.) ((Mean Girls+Boueibu does make sense))

Life Without Love by Charm545: Slight AU. The Conquest Club decides to target the source of their enemy’s power: love. (TBH this fic has lived rent free in my head for years)

Something Wicked By @mostlikelytofangirl: The adventures of a group of missfit mystic creatures and their lives in the city of Salem, Massachusetts, narrated through the eyes of a witch and his cat familiar. Trying to live peacefully will proof to be more difficult than what any of them expected. (just know this series really got me into Akorima)

LOVE! LOVE! Adventures by @deuterium51614's cool mom: Enkin fanfiction written by my mom. (no really these are, it's amazing)

God of Light and Love by @koolkitty9: A rewrite of my infamous God of Love AU, Hakone Yumoto, the heir to the throne of Love , also known as: His Highness, Prince Scarlet, Yumoto Hakone, God of Light, Heir to the Throne of Love, is the next God of Love, who is cursed to die by Hireashi. He has to awaken his powers and finish what his ancestors once started. (listen I will never shut up about this au so I'm going to 100% have to subject it to you guys this early on for this list)

(Two Oh) Two Three, Love and Joy by SicTransitVictoria: The Battle Lovers don't know each other's identities. Same for Caerula Adamas. But somehow, Yumoto knows everyone. (I like this one a lot, it's fun!)

Nighttime Rituals by @fortune-maiden: The last futon comes into his view, and as soon as he sees it, sleep escapes him completely and his unease intensifies. Yumoto is gone. (Another one I think of often)

Two Princes by @soullessserenity: Prince Kinshiro meets his future spouse, prince Yumoto, for the first time. (This one is really sweet)

Kinshiro's Immortal by @thatlittledandere: I couldn't find the original My Immortal summary so I'll just introduce this as what it is: a poor rewrite of My Immortal with Kinshiro Kusatsu as the main character. Nobody asked for this and it's going to be very very painful for all parties involved but here it is. (no this is exactly what you think it is, a very iconic fic)

I don't know if you answered this in the past so feel free to ignore this if you has this ask before, what are your thoughts on Daiyako? I know you're a Miyaken shipper, but I'm curious, their dynamic was really fun

I like it a lot! Keep in mind I prioritize Ken/Miyako just because that's the ship I have the most experience writing as a fanfic writer and therefore have developed the most attachment to out of personal involvement, but just because I'm not very good at writing other dynamics doesn't mean I don't enjoy others' works and headcanons in it just as much. Even if it didn't happen that way in canon, I think Miyako and Daisuke have more than enough of a good partners-in-crime dynamic that they could have easily made it work.

In fact, while I usually take voice actor comments with a grain of salt here, I do consider it significant that Natsuki Rio herself said that she figured Miyako liked Daisuke ("like" in this case meaning "would not be averse to dating" moreso than necessarily having a crush on him). This interview seems to have been taken at the point in the series before Ken reformed and joined the group, so her and Tochika's treatment of Ken/Miyako is in a significantly more joking manner, but they do still establish her as potentially being interested in Ken at this point, so it's interesting to me that Daisuke gets the unique distinction of also potentially being on this level.

For people who say Wangxian are morally wrong, MXTX literally made them to be the morally right characters

You could say they did things that weren’t acceptable at the time, but they were indeed were written as the morally correct ones.

Yeah, it’s like... you can disagree with what they do, but we are explicitly supposed to side with them? They are In The Right? Come on.

Did you listen to the audio drama? Did you enjoy it?

I have started it actually! I’m on like ep3 I think. But then life got busy and I wanted to take a bit of a break after finishing the novel so I havent made more progress yet. But I will definitely finish the audio drama, especially because I really want to hear them speak the lines from the novel.

The translation I read left me rather confused a lot of the time because there was no indication of tone of voice so I wasnt sure how to read certain scenes and that’s why I want to hear the audio drama very much. I’ve read comments that it’s super faithful to the novel so I think that will help me with my interpretations and whatnot. Also I just love hearing/seeing all the emotions in the characters and their reactions.

I love your writing and I was wondering, how do you think the other three would handle/react to Mal being seriously injured? Who'd call the shots while their leader is down?

I firmly believe Jay is second in command, though a lot of the films suggest Evie.

 - Jay has been shown to be the most protective

 - Jay has been Mal’s longest friend (according to the books)

 - Jay had the most experience dealing with tough shit on the Isle (according to the books. Evie never left her castle and Carlos spent a lot of time in Hell House or his tree house). This means Jay has the most experience keeping a level head and rationalizing things

 - Jay has likely been in the most fights and knows how to bandage fight wounds (though Carlos is a good second)

Carlos and Evie can absolutely be leaders if given the chance, but that’s not their go-to role. Evie is a caretaker and Carlos is a problem solver.

In case of emergencies, Evie will run around getting blankets and water and towels while Carlos is giving care (stitching Mal up, popping shoulders back into place, etc.). Carlos has years of practice taking care of himself from Cruella and Evie has practice patching all of her friends up. Jay can give medical care too, but he’s not the best at it.

While Mal is recovering, Jay is in charge. He’s gotta make sure no rivals (Uma) know Mal is down and ensure they don’t lose any territory. Evie is spreading rumors that Mal is away on some super evil mission from her mother and Carlos is keeping up on all her homework.

All of them help take care of her, just in different ways.

Nope I kindaish explained why here also I already queued all the pretty boy polIs rest of the year so that’s just gonna make extra work for uswe have gotten a person to help manage this blog but they won’t be doing HK polls either they are gonna help with the regular love polls so unless someone comes out and helps with them there no HK polls on this blog unless one time ones are requestedso if you want a pretty boy poll for the hk characters consitant someone have to step in and help we won’t sadly do 15 characters it’s way too much for us to handle sorry
