Original name: Link Shi Eldridge
This was a name his parents gave him but he only learned it when he turned 33 years old. Until then he doesn’t really think he’d have such name as Link.
Meaning behind the original name (aka my reason for the chosen name):
- From Chinese 时 (shí) meaning "time, era, season", 实 (shí) meaning "real, honest", 史 (shǐ) meaning "history" or 石 (shí) meaning "stone". Other characters can form this name as well.
- Eldridge, originating from Old English, signifies ‘sage ruler’, symbolizing wisdom and leadership.
Additional names: Sprite, Stolen, Keaton, Mr. L-R, Time
Sprite is the name Wars gave to him at the orphanage Dragon’s Hoard. This is the name he keeps as his real name. Though, Wars never called him by this name if there was any chance for the orphanage’s keepers hearing it. It’s a special name just between the two of them.
Stolen is the name the owners of the orphanage Dragon’s Hoard keep calling him. It’s the reason he’s not fully grasping the actual meaning of such words as “kidnapped”, “stolen”, “snatched” and so on.
Keaton is his own choice when he did stunt driving for show but he never revealed his true identity during his active time nor after he quit.
Mr. L-R is a name used when he was interviewed at a television show as he put his work in bringing down the orphanage Dragon’s Hoard down. Yet, he didn’t want his real name to come up so the show’s interviewer came up with the nickname. It is simply shortened into two letters from his chosen last name of LonRan (Malon’s last name as he didn’t have his own last name).
Time is the name he picks for himself after Malon’s death. In his opinion he ran out of time and he just wants to remind himself of everyone having limited time with those they love. It is also partly for him to mock himself for the loss of time with his loved ones.
Nicknames by Wars:
Little kitten due to cuteness and purring. Wars himself purrs too as it helps to calm Sprite down from time to time.
Little one due to Sprite being smaller than the other kids.
Gremlin whenever Sprite’s been either mischievous, having bit of banter between the two of them or just getting on Wars’ nerves (very, VERY rare times, though).
Other “names” used of him:
Brat, kiddo, all kinds of swear words, named by the masks for the Special Operations, son (few times by Talon), pet names by Malon
-.-.-.-.-.- Description -.-.-.-.-.-
Species: ½ Hylian, ½ Fairy
Gender: Male
Guardian Deity: The God of Protection (Fierce Deity)
Date of Birth: Midsummer (Summer Solstice)
Main outlook:
Quite well going along with how he looks in the games of Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask and Hyrule Warriors.
After gaining the Fierce Deity’s markings, his outlook’s quite well one on one with Linked Universe’s version with the exception that he has longer hair.
Has slender build even though he has lot of strength in him.
Birthmark:
He has a small flying bird in his neck that is looking down towards his left hip. He’s unaware of this as Wars never told him.
Scars:
His body is littered with them. Main ones are in his arms and torso. His hands have scars of having been pierced. His legs are filed with scars too but not as roughly as the rest of his body.
The scars, due to the scientific part of the keepers of Dragon’s Hoard, act like normal skin.
He doesn’t like his scars being touched but he slowly gets better with this feeling. Especially with Malon but after her death, it’s slowly aided by the seven boys he adopts and later on by his big brother.
He gained the scar over his right eye when he was 18. He defended Malon from group of four guys. He lost his sight from the eye due to that strike. Sadly, it was safer to remove the eye so he now has glass eye in there instead.
There’s less noticeable scar in his neck from the time he cut his hair short after Malon’s death.
Both of his wrists have self made scars due to attempted suicide during the first year after Malon’s death.
So far some of his scars are gone through in the story of “Seven boys, seven scars, seven stories”. For now, the rest of his scars will be explained in his background stories once I get to write and upload them.
Hair:
Not as long as Wild’s is in Linked Universe but maybe half of that.
Likes his hair being braided. Mainly did it by himself but Wars did his hair now and then too. Later on the main one to do his hair is Hyrule.
Loved to have Malon do his hair.
Time cuts his hair quite well into the length he has in Linked Universe after Malon’s death. Yet, after that he just lets it grow without much of care how it looks. At least until he starts to adopt the boys and he puts more notion into his own wellbeing too.
Eyes:
Sky blue but will darken into near midnight blue if he’s seriously raged.
After he loses his right eye, he gets a glass eye into there. Usually uses fully white one without markings. Easier to deal with and having something in there so no need for eye patch or such.
He does have few other glass eyes too for the lost eye. His main fave during Halloween time is actually blood red eye with a scar over it which he lines up with his own scar. He doesn’t scare his boys with it but it’s more of a memory for the Halloween after he lost his eye and Malon got him that glass eye so they could really play a trick on people.
-.-.-.-.-.- Personality (in a way) -.-.-.-.-.-
Righteousness:
He has very strong sense of righteousness. And yet, he will stretch it needed. For example, he “stole” a pink stuffed toy rabbit for Legend on the day he fetched him from the orphanage while telling that “the orphanage owed it to him”.
Truths and lies:
He does his absolute best to always speak the truth. Yet, obviously, he will withheld some informations if he so feels like when he first came to Lon-Lon Ranch and gave very minimal information about himself.
He will lie too if needed. For example, he would never give full truths out to bad guys and hold back information with all costs… Except if his family that’s in the line of danger. Only at then he will comply to pretty much to anything.
On rare times he lies because he thinks it’s a better choice. For example, he quite well lied to Hyrule about the boy’s mother. Yet, he had FULL intention of clearing things out eventually once he would’ve found the right words in a way of fixing the situation without Hyrule losing his trust in his mother and will to meet with her. Sadly, he wasn’t given that chance as Hyrule called her without having been given heads-up about it.
Example story of this trait:
- Lies to correct
Protectiveness:
He is VERY protective. There is absolutely NOTHING he wouldn’t do for his family. He’s ready to, for example, lie, steal, die, end up in jail, and go through hell just to keep the people he loves safe and sound.
Example stories of this trait (at least):
- Catch a knife
- “DON’T TOUCH ME!”
- Old friends not worth keeping
- Four’s colors: Blue (anger issues)
- Special Operations Mission: Becoming Fierce
- Lies to correct
- Never a monster by heart
Playfulness:
He can be very playful too. For example, he pulls off wolf / dog act for Twilight, allows Wind to rig a pack of playing cards and he plays a rabbit for Legend.
Not yet written into actual stories but some of these can be found in the next short pieces within the “story”:
- Snippets for Ranch Family
Openness:
If his family asks anything from him, he will answer. He might not talk without being asked or shown interest considering something about him. And yet, he will talk about stuff from his past if he thinks it will aid his boy(s) to heal from their own traumas.
Example story of this trait:
- Seven boys, seven scars, seven stories
Patience:
Could say that he has the patience of a saint. At least, when it comes to his family. If he EVER shouts at his boys, it’ll be clear as the brightest day that he’s distraught and worried at then. Otherwise there’s no chance he’d raise his voice at them. He understands the boys as, in a way, he’s been in their place so he’s aware what they’re needing.
Sadly, there will be a time when this doesn’t hold true. At then he absolutely hates and despises himself. Unfortunately, that leads into him trying to avoid all confrontational situations. It will clear out but it will leave its mark into him.
Example stories of this trait:
- Lies to correct
- Never a monster by heart
Sneakiness:
Usually this is just for playfulness with pranks or playing Hide-And-Seek. Yet, he’s also needing this for some of his Special Operation Missions. He’s gotten better with this ability since he was a kid. Back then he could sneak into lot of places but he often ended up caught due to getting sidetracked from his original reason of having gone to the area.
Time’s own rules to the boys:
He is very loving and caring towards the boys. He never barks at them. He tries not to reprimand them. And he has only few rules to follow.
- Be honest whole time. Line such as “I don’t want to talk about it” is accepted.
- Answer into his call. This can be done either by a text or by accepting the call.
- NO running in the stairs. At least not when coming down them. Unless, of course, it’s an emergency such as fire or bad guys in the house.
- Clear any fights or misunderstandings before bed.
- Don’t hesitate to come to him with any problem be it small or big.
-.-.-.-.-.- Likes, Other & Dislikes -.-.-.-.-.-
Likes:
Won’t be going too far into this as there’s not much he wouldn’t like.
- Considering food, he’s omnivorous but he really enjoys hot chocolates (and anything Wild cooks up)
- No animal would ever harm him unless there’s something very wrong within them but his main fave is prolly the horses
Other:
Since this isn’t exactly liking or disliking, I’m just putting it up here:
- Considering people, he’s willing to give everyone a chance but some just have this feeling of wrongness which gets him to be wary of them but he tries not to let it dictate his actions towards the person
Dislikes:
There isn’t much he dislikes but there are some huge pieces worth of mentioning:
- NEEDLES (he has a fear of these)
- Orphanages (originates from orphanage Dragon’s Hoard)
- Bad guys of all kinds (mainly considering mad scientists but will grow with time as he learns about other kinds of bad guys)
- Work as bar’s bouncer (he needs the money but he HATES the job)
- Being away from his family (Special Operations Missions)
-.-.-.-.-.- Life -.-.-.-.-.-
Time was kidnapped only few days after birth and brought into an orphanage called Dragon’s Hoard. The moment he was brought in he was already dumped into a five year old boy’s arms. That kid became his older brother, Wars.
For ten years Time, named as Sprite by Wars, goes through absolute hell in the hands of the keepers of the Dragon’s Hoard. He’s both tortured and experimented on. Yet, some of those are his own fault as he tried to aid other kids and find evidence to bring the place down.
When Time turns ten, the keepers of the place are up for killing him. Wars, having been aware of this being a possibility due to his little brother’s protective (read: nosy) behavior, aids him to escape the orphanage. Wars taught a lot of survival skills to the kid and, most of all, about how to live from what the nature can provide him.
For a year Time lives in the nature as much as possible but he also ends up living in the streets of towns and cities. He prefers the nature, though. Safer and easier to survive in there.
When Time’s eleven, he takes refuge from a ranch for a night. The ranch’s keeper’s daughter finds him from the horse stables. For his surprise, he’s not chased out of there or called the police on him. Instead, he’s given a chance to stay.
Time, having learned during that year alone in the nature and in the streets that everything’s an exchange, he works harder than the regular workers of the Lon-Lon Ranch. After all, unlike the others whom work for money, he works for food and a roof over his head. He doesn’t really understand, nor is it actually ever said to him, but Talon LonRan actually unofficially adopted him. It confuses Time whenever Talon calls him as his son to anyone whom is going against him in one way or the other.
Time’s main goal at the time is to stay alive and grow up to be old enough (aka adult) so he could get people to listen to him and bring down Dragon’s Hoard. He keeps that in mind whole time but doing such, he forgets some of the guidelines Wars gave to him.
- Stay alive
- Stay safe
- Live your own life
- Find happiness
- Come back for me when you’re ready and capable
Time, without even realizing it at first, falls in love with Malon, the daughter of Lon-Lon Ranch’s keeper. At first he tries to ignore the feelings and act normally. When thoughts such as wanting to kiss her and wanting to hold her hand and so on, appear in his head, he tries to squish them as thoroughly as he could. He keeps in mind two simple things:
- He’s trying to stay alive so he could be old enough to save Wars from the orphanage
- He owes to the keepers of the Lon-Lon Ranch for the food and roof over his head so he does NOT have any of rights to fall in love with Malon
Yet, bigger thing is that he doesn’t consider himself worthy for Malon’s love.
Eventually, after watching for two years of Time avoiding confessing to Malon, Talon finally acts and, slightly bit unintentionally, corners the nineteen years old youngster. Obviously, he gives his full blessing to the duo.
Time is 21 years old when he finally marries Malon.
Together (and with Talon’s aid) they start to work even stronger on figuring out how to save Wars and the other kids of the Dragon’s Hoard. As things start to gain the form of a plan and wind into its wings, things crash:
- It is only few months from the wedding when Talon ends up into an accident at the ranch that takes his life
- Only couple of months from there, with Malon more or less pressuring him, Time finally puts things into motion. He talks with police and he’s in TV program where he tells about the orphanage’s work while showing the scars
- Only day or few later as he’s up for going with the police to see the orphanage getting brought down, Malon gets badly sick. This keeps Time from going along which, sadly, prolongs things from taking action.
- Two days later and the Dragon’s Hoard burns down
- About six months later Malon dies due to cancer. Sadly, she was unknowingly pregnant and their unborn child dies with her.
After all this, while being alone at the ranch, Time gets very depressed. The ranch and the animals, even though he promised to Malon to look after them, isn’t enough for him. He feels like he’s lost everything. This, sadly, gets him to attempt suicide.
- First attempt is shallow and bit snaps Time back into reality
- The second attempt is closer of being successful but Epona, being VERY clever girl, manages to call the vet and save Time’s life
On the day Time’s up for attempting for third time, he sees the Luck Bird. Just before midnight he finds a piece of paper where Malon wrote: “If I can’t have my own children, I would adopt them.” This saves Time’s life as he begins to work to fulfill that dream.
The next year isn’t easy for Time as he goes through the orphanages in search of the right kid he could help. Going into the orphanages is already hard for him but it’s even harder to leave without being able to bring the kids with him. He feels absolutely hellish of not being able to help in any of way.
Time, at the age of 24, was ready to give up on finding a kid he could adopt and help. Yet, on that day he saw the Luck Bird and chose to give it one last chance with the orphanage he had written down into a piece of paper. This time around he brought Twilight with him.
Having someone to look after and do his best to help, Time finally finds a reason to live. It’s not yet much but it’s a start. And, about six months later with Twilight’s rights, he brings over Legend. After that, with about six months between each of the boys, he brings in Wild, Wind, Sky, Four and Hyrule.
With each of the boys, the life is looking that one bit brighter for Time. The seven boys bring joy, laughter, nightmares and family to him. And yet, with there still being one empty room in the house, it doesn’t fully feel right to him.
Time is 29 when the seven boys of his find Wars and brings him over. After the first shock and explanations, Time finally feels like his family is full. Sadly, this doesn’t last than couple of years.
Time is 31 when he finally gives out all he’s gathered about his boys and of his brother. This starts a year of heartbreaks to him while beginning from Wars whom he kicks out due to having found out of Wars being the son of the keepers of Dragon’s Hoard without Wars having told it by himself. From there, one after the other, he’s there with his boys as they meet with their remaining blood relatives. Things don’t go too easily and while most leaves the ranch to their own places to think about stuff, Wind is the one whom he has to let go by him returning to his family. The ranch slowly falls quieter with only Legend staying at the ranch with him.
About a year later there’s an attack at the ranch. To save his family, Time allows the bad guys to knock him out cold. Yet, before worse can be done, Wars, whom has been keeping close check on the ranch ever since he was kicked out, saves the day. Time gets some much needed answers from the attacker as he’s adamant of talking with the person whom is held at the police station at then. With the gained information, he fixes things with Wars and re-invites him back to the ranch.
Only a year later Time finally opens an envelope Wars gave him the day he escaped the Dragon’s Hoard. Time, having thought it to just include some much needed information about the orphanage, is entirely shocked to find his own birth certificate and other information from there. Only few days later he’s already meeting with his own parents and sister.
I won’t go further with his life story due to two reasons:
1) To avoid further spoilers considering the (currently) upcoming story.
-> I will (hopefully) continue this part once the story is done
2) I have not yet thought much further than this
-> There will be stuff like encounter with Majora, dealing with other bad guys, missions for the Special Operations and so on. Besides, there will be LOT of stories that need to be done for the START of the whole series.
Few other notions that I wasn’t able to include into the actual explanation:
- Only couple of months after Time’s brought Wild to the ranch, he picks up a work as a bouncer for a bar. It’s for the money but he hates the job with passion. He only quits the job couple of years later after an incident that almost takes his life.
- At the same year he takes up the bouncer’s job, he gets approved into Special Operations. It all starts from the need of money but in the end it becomes something far more and important to him.
- Eventually, at much later age, Time gives Legend the Lon-Lon Ranch with Twilight getting one piece of the land too.
-.-.-.-.-.- Skills and abilities -.-.-.-.-.-
Magic: Fire, Ice, Shield
His main magics are Fire and Ice. He doesn’t really master them as he’s not really needing them. Besides, fire is dangerous magic to use indoors. Yet, much later, after having gathered his boys, he actually figures out how to use these to work with his body temperature. It’ll keep him from overheating during winter and getting hypothermia during summer.
He does use Fire before too. Main part is during Halloween with Malon when they play a trick if such has been requested for.
Shield magic (aka Nayru’s Love) is something that comes up unconsciously. It’s rare and usually only if someone else than himself is in danger and he’s unable to get to them in time to save them. He doesn’t have control over it nor does he even know he’s the one whom cast the magic in the first place.
(Notion: Magic will be cleared in different chapter but main thing is that everyone got magic in their usage. It just depends on how much one practices with it for it to be useful ability.)
Prophecies:
He has prophetic dreams. He’s unaware of them being such and might never draw the line into the understanding of it. For example, he dreams of a wolf the night before he goes to the orphanage from where he brings Twilight to the ranch.
-.-.-.-.-.- Disabilities -.-.-.-.-.-
Needle fear:
This is something he gained from the Dragon’s Hoard. The keepers were very cruel with needles and made sure it would hurt. He keeps claiming it’s nothing but it is very sever fear.
If he’s alone, he’ll tremble and whine while holding his eye shut tightly. He doesn’t whimper even if he’d wish to. He will flinch roughly when the needle pierces his skin. Usually at then he goes fully rigid and barely breathing until the situation’s over.
If he’s having someone else there with him while not being the one to get the vaccination or stitches, his gaze is fixed into the needle. He might growl quietly but he stays put and fights to keep his trembling from sight.
If he’s the one to get the vaccination or other reason for needles to be used and he’s NOT alone, he’ll still tremble but not as badly. His voice will waver but he forces himself to be functional for the sake of the others.
If, for some odd reason, he’ll be the one to DO stitching, he’ll be quite certainly rambling off anything and everything to take his notion off of what he’s doing. Afterwards, though, he’ll be trembling even more while quite well fighting to breathe.
Even the simple word of “stitch / stitches / stitching” will bring the fear up. He’ll be trembling and his voice will waver. Though, this is something his boys will help him to heal from.
Problem with words:
He has problems with specific words and lacking to fully comprehend the meaning of them. This is mainly because he was called as Stolen by the keepers of Dragon’s Hoard. The word has different meaning to him than to anyone else. There are other words too that he struggles with since the keepers of Dragon’s Hoard didn’t really give other word for specific things such as Bread Jumper meaning toaster (Malon went along with Sprite’s word for the toaster and named the thing as Sir Bread Jumper and when they needed to get a new one, she named it as Sir Bread Jumper The Second).
Fear of tight and dark places:
When he was a kid, one of the scientists of Dragon’s Hoard locked him into an almost airtight cabinet. Darkness all around him and too tight to move even an inch. The scientist kept talking about how the air runs out at there and how there’s bugs and whatnot that wants to eat the kid.
Wars is unaware of this as what felt like hours or even days was just minutes. Time was never able to really talk about it. He never even told to Malon. In fact, he thought he’d never be in such place ever again… Until Never a monster by heart happened.
-.-.-.-.-.- Family and friends -.-.-.-.-.-
Parents:
Mother: Alana Eldridge (Half-Fairy)
Father: Liam Eldridge (Half-Kokiri)
Status: Both alive, in rest home
They have never stopped searching for their kidnapped son. As they have a picture of their baby and of his birthmark, it’s easy for them to know if one claimed as their lost son is real or fake. Many try to fool them due to the money they’re offering for finding their boy.
The birthmark was never given into public or put into their son’s medical info. On this way it is only in the knowledge of the parents.
Younger sister: Saria Eldridge
Blood: Half-Kokiri, Half-Hylian
Status: Alive, living her own life
Born about decade after her brother was kidnapped.
She has heard about her lost brother so much throughout her life that she’s not really interested of anymore. And each time someone comes to claim to her parents about their kid or the person himself is their son… Well, she’s getting very fed up with it.
Deep inside she’s hoping to actually meet with her brother but she’s not trusting him to show up in any of way. She keeps claiming he’s dead rather than believe him to be alive.
All this is the reason she’s very hostile towards her brother when he finally shows up at the rest home where their parents stay at. She demands proof by DNA test even though the birthmark is already a huge proof on its own.
She hates herself a bit for taking sadistic pleasure out of her brother’s needle fear when the DNA test is up for being done as it’s made by a needle. Lucky for her brother, the doc sees how scared the patient is and very much scolds her before more or less commanding the patient’s boys and brother in for the patient’s support.
After rocky start she will get very close with her brother.
Wars: The big brother.
One whom raised him, kept him as safe as he could and helped to escape. With Wars, he’s really capable to just let go and be totally childish. There’s always a smile for one another.
When the boys find and bring Wars to their caretaker, they get to see a totally different side of him. One that is full of mischief, puppy-dog-eyes, cuddles and banter. It’s a surprise but also quite a delight to watch and listen.
Talon LonRan: Malon’s father.
Besides Wars, Talon is the only father figure he ever has had. The caring and love means the world to him. And before he really realizes it, he’s not just working for the food and roof over his head but to make Talon proud of him.
Talon is the first adult he truly trusts and cares about. He’s a proof that not every adult is bad. And, more shocking to him, is the fact he wants to be like Talon. Caring, affectionate, loving and having a huge heart to love people, animals and the life itself so much.
When Talon dies, it hurts him as much as it hurts Malon. They aid one another through that loss.
Malon LonRan: The love of his life.
They start from simple friendship that grows to be something far more.
Losing her leaves him (almost) fully beyond repairing.
He never stops loving her and will certainly feel pain and possibly even end up crying no matter how long it is from her death. Worse is that she was pregnant when she died. Time never takes off the wedding ring.
Son: Link Faen LonRan
He has a child whom never was born and died into the womb within hour or so after Malon’s death. He never learned which gender his child was so he always calls the unborn child of his as “Beloved little one”. Only after his own death when he meets with Wars, Malon, his parents and Talon again, he finally meets with his kid. He knows the young boy to be his the moment he sees him even though he doesn’t know his name.
Workers of Lon-Lon Ranch:
He gets along with them. No actual friends but after he had reminded them often enough about not getting paid but having food and roof over his head, they finally accept him. They care about him but none of them get as close as what Talon and Malon do. Yet, when he becomes one of the owners of the place, they do respect him and follow his orders willingly.
Mouse family:
There is a small mouse family at the ranch. He and Malon befriend the small beings and teach them to stay away from unwanted areas. It is the only way they can ensure their safety by not needing a cat or traps at the ranch.
The Dotour family:
Talon is childhood friends with Kafei’s parents. They come often during the summer to meet and spend time at the ranch. Malon knows Kafei and introduces the boy to him. After slight bit of awkwardness, the three of them are close.
For a while he thinks about Kafei and Malon getting together but, then, at one summer, Kafei comes over with Anju. At first he’s not certain how to feel about that but as he keeps close eye on things, he realizes Malon’s not interested of Kafei and she’s honestly happy for Kafei having found love.
After Malon’s death, Kafei calls him once a week to keep in touch and in hopes of aiding his friend through the loss. Yet, for a long while Kafei’s unaware of him having lost also a child when Malon died.
When he starts to gather the boys, and more so when he brings Twilight in, he gets more in contact with Kafei as he requests for his help in tracking down the youngster’s past. This work to uncover the secrets and such keeps them as close friends.
The boys: Twilight, Legend, Wild, Wind, Sky, Four and Hyrule
He absolutely adores his boys. They pretty much end up being his lifeline. There’s absolutely nothing he wouldn’t do for them. He swears he’ll be reached by a phone no matter of the time or where he’d be, he’ll always answer.
If the boys have nightmares:
There are (at least) two different ways this goes down. Yet, of course, it depends fully on what kind of nightmare the boy was having.
1) Twilight, Sky, Four
If the boy wakes up screaming, he will dash out of his room and crash the door open no matter if it was locked or not. In his opinion, if the boys are screaming, they’re in danger and he needs to be there on that second.
2) Wild, Wind, Hyrule, Legend
If the boy wakes up quietly by whimpering, crying or with a gasp, he has a sixth sense of sorts that tells him his boy’s not okay. At then he leaves the room quietly so he wouldn’t wake the others up while following that feeling as it more often than not brings him to right door. He knocks softly on the door and asks if the one’s awake. No matter what kind of answer he gets, he tells after that he’ll come inside. After that his actions are fully dictated by how his boy reacts and he comes only as close as the boy is comfortable with.
No matter which way the boys wake up from nightmares the end result is the same: Midnight hot chocolates and calming down.
The teammates from Team Masks (more at later section):
He doesn’t have too close friendship with other teams than Team Termina. He’s been with few other teams but never longer than maybe a mission or two. Team Termina is where he handles most of his missions. And those three become close friends to him.
Stripes (cat):
At one point Twilight brings over a stray cat. Twi’s seen the mice and, the farmer he is, he obviously believes every farm needs a cat. His caretaker is NOT happy but he’s not the kind of guy who would deny it. And, as cats are predators, in his opinion the cat is only doing what it is meant to do: Hunt.
He knows he should’ve told of the mouse family and what they mean to him but cat is a cat and does as cats do. Sadly, before Twilight realizes the full situation, several of the mouse family lose their lives even though Time does his best to keep the mice safe and sound.
Eventually Twilight manages to teach the cat to be friends with the mouse family and to NOT hunt birds. After all, the Luck Bird is a bird and that’s another thing Time was terrified of seeing brought dead with the cat being proud of her abilities.
Luckily, no Luck Birds are killed by Stripes.
-.-.-.-.-.- The Luck Bird -.-.-.-.-.-
Species: Siberian Jay
Names: Luck Bird, Soul Bird
The Luck Bird, unknown to him, is his Soul Bird. It is his guidance and confirmation.
He calls it as Luck Bird because that’s what Malon called the bird. He only learns from Hyrule that the bird is actually a Siberian Jay.
As Luck Bird, the small avian, as its name says, brings luck. It means he’ll survive some harsher situation or that he’ll figure out something that’s a huge problem to him for some time by then. It also gives info of having reached a safe place where no-one hurts him. This kind of situations are such as:
- The day he escaped the Dragon’s Hoard
- The day he came to Lon-Lon Ranch
- The day he found the paper about Malon having wanted to adopt if she couldn’t have her own children
The Soul Bird part is bit different but it has already showed up in “The place to belong to” and “Lies to correct”. The thing is that usually the bird is seen by the others instead of him. It’s to show that something bad is going to happen but he’ll survive through it.
The Luck Bird / Soul Bird has “magic” of its own in a way. When the bird is seen, either by him or by someone else, things will happen within that specific day. There’s only time until midnight as after that its luck will not last anymore. For example, he finds that earlier mentioned paper just moments (maybe 5 mins or so) before midnight.
-.-.-.-.-.- Places he’s lived at -.-.-.-.-.-
Hospital: Kidnapped only few days after birth.
Orphanage: Ten years living at the orphanage Dragon’s Hoard.
On streets: One year living in forests and streets.
Lon-Lon Ranch: Coming to the ranch and staying there ever since.
-.-.-.-.-.- Living through hell -.-.-.-.-.-
What was done in the Dragon’s Hoard:
Torture:
Most of his scars come from this. Mostly he’s targeted by the keepers of the Dragon’s Hoard but sometimes he ends up into it due to protecting others.
Scientific experiments:
He gains actual magic into his usage. Fire and ice are main ones he’s capable of using. Yet, to avoid being called freak and such, he rarely uses magic and hence makes it seem he doesn’t have such.
His body temperature acts odd by reacting into the weather. It keeps dropping during heat waves and increasing during extremely cold winters. Once he gets his magic under control, he’s capable of working with this problem and, in a way, to fix it.
His scars act like normal skin unlike with normal circumstances. Yet, the scars he gains after leaving the Dragon’s Hoard, are normal scars due to the time that’s passed since the last experiment.
Mental hell:
He doesn’t think he has the rights to rest and recover when he’s sick.
He has very little of care about his own wellbeing. Yet, he has good self preservation all the way until he loses Malon. After that, until he starts to gather the boys, he is ready and willing to just die.
The memories of what he went through in Dragon’s Hoard will never leave him.
He has lots of cruel nightmares. Mainly considering his own hell but sometimes his guilt takes over as he recalls of having not been able to save some of the other kids.
-.-.-.-.-.- Work (spoiler warning!) -.-.-.-.-.-
Ranch hand:
He starts this work as a way to pay back for the kindness, caring, roof over his head and food. He works MUCH harder than anyone else on the ranch as he feels like he owes to Talon and Malon for what they’re giving him. He’s not trying to make others look bad or steal their work. He honestly just feels like it’s the only right thing to be done. Besides, the others are paid for the work they do, he’s not. And he’s so far learned that everything in world is about exchange so in his opinion the work is his exchange for what’s he’s being given.
Later on, when he understands what love, and most of all unconditional love, means, the work becomes something far more meaningful to him. He loves the work as he loves the animals and the people of the ranch. It all just becomes as part of his family.
Unfortunately, after he has lost Malon, the ranch and the work at there lose all meaning to him. He does the minimum but other than that he more often than not tries to figure out how he could get rid of it all. Sure, each time that thought crosses his mind, he absolutely hates himself as he had promised to Malon to look after Epona, the other animals and the ranch.
Things begin to heal up when he brings Twilight to the ranch and the place slowly begins to feel like a home again.
Jockey:
This was something he bit dreamed of when he aided Malon to raise Epona. It was a surprise when Talon and Malon asked him to take Epona into races.
He and Epona work like a dream team. It is a rare situation when they don’t actually win the competition. Though, usually that’s due to other reasons such as ending up aiding someone else or there being something unexpected on the road.
Mainly jumping obstacles but few races now and then too. Epona got the speed but she loves to jump.
After he’s alone at the ranch, he doesn’t take part into any competitions anymore. Yet, he doesn’t let anyone else take Epona into any races either.
Once he begins to gather the boys and, unintentionally, getting aid in looking after the ranch, he and Epona take up a close by being race every now and then. They do it mainly just for fun and to get bit difference into the days. The money’s just extra for them.
Masked driver (nicknamed Keaton):
He has a thing for speed even though he’s not too eager to drive. He ends up seeing a document about a stunt driver of sorts whom doesn’t play a part in movies but does tricks and whatnot on a track. Talon even gets them tickets to the show which is held at the closest town. That sparks his wish to do the same work.
He only performs in the same town he saw his idol’s show. Yet, after the first show which is actually free for everyone to come and watch, he keeps the ticket prices low. Whatever income he gets, he gives into the Lon-Lon Ranch’s upholding. After all, he’s not really needing the money while living at the ranch and getting all he needs at there.
His shows are only during summer due to safer driving conditions.
He postpones the shows when Malon gets sick and retires fully when she dies. Unlike his idol in same work, he gives a reason for canceling the shows and eventually quitting: Unforeseen situation in family.
Like his idol, he never reveals his identity to public. Yet, during the training program of Special Operations, he gets to meet with his idol… And beats him in the driving section of the training.
Bouncer for a bar:
He hates this job from whole heart and more but it pays well. The work is two nights at a week (Friday and Saturday). He applied for it due to the money as he was low in cash but not wanting his boys to know of this. Yet, they do suspect as he comes home few times from a fight but bigger sign is his mood which, obviously, is fully changed just by getting back to his boys and being surrounded by them.
The job is mainly to uphold order and making sure fights won’t start at there. Yet, he does far more than that. Sadly, THAT sometimes leaves him with smaller salary. The bar doesn’t kick him out as he’s actually worth the money.
- He keeps underage customers out and sends them off to much safer disco or such instead.
- He acts as a body guard for few V.I.P. customers which is a work he hates even more as those are usually people whom got their money by wrong ways. Still, this usually gets him bigger salary if he does things right which he clearly manages.
- He keeps eye on what’s going in the bar and does his best to keep it clean from drugs.
- He does his best to look after the customers
-> Making sure no-one whom is too drunk is going to drive
-> Making sure no-one ends up preyed upon by bad guys
-> Tries his best to stop pickpocketers but some are better at the act or then just using the chance when he’s not looking
He doesn’t quit the job until things go into absolute hell as he ends up jumped by some seriously cruel bad guys. That leaves him into waking up at the hospital with his boys and big brother around him. It wasn’t far that he would’ve ended up dead.
The reason he kept the job for so long was money. When he starts as a bouncer, he’s gathering the boys two at each year and eventually getting his big brother back too. He needs lot of money to be capable of giving his boys the life they want. And some of his boys don’t have cheap dreams.
Special Operations:
Things start off by him throwing in an application out of curiosity and the money that’s being offered just by sending an application. It’s a very high price and he knows he can do a lot for his boys just by that alone for few months.
He doesn’t wait for getting into the program so it’s quite a surprise for him when the approval letter comes. He still contemplates for a moment about whether or not he wants to head forward with things but the money is a big motivator for him. Again, NOT for himself but for his boys. Wild’s cookings aren’t exactly cheap and he really just wants to feed into his boys’ interests and, with the money offered, he’s more than capable of giving them a chance to reach towards their dreams.
He doesn’t exactly wait to get all the way through the training program but he is taken by curiosity and will to see how far he CAN get. The amount of money the participants get keeps increasing the further they manage in the training.
His first several missions are with different teams. When the masks and teams are shared, those are supposed to be their main parts. Sadly, not everyone is capable of dealing with him and usually the team’s leader is the one whom requests to remove him from the team. The reason for such is usually in differing opinions on how to do things, the leader is too much of a “It’s my way or you’re out.” kind of guy or the actions taken do not cope well with him.
Team Termina is eventually the group he gets along and handles the rest of the missions that are to come. He starts off as a follower but, during one mission, the leadership is actually given to him.
Eventually, much to his surprise, Team Termina actually becomes one of his closest friends.
The Special Operations Missions are rare but they pay extremely well, mostly due to the fact of them being dangerous.
Anyone from the team can decline from the mission for any given reason. Yet, usually that also means that the rest of the team doesn’t get send into the mission. Usually the members are paid part of what they could’ve gained to compensate for the lack of getting into the action. Sometimes, if the teammates ask for it or some other team is man or few short, they can get to join some other team for different mission that’s to be dealt at the same time.
-.-.-.-.-.- Miscellaneous -.-.-.-.-.-
He is the Hero of Time reincarnated but he’s entirely unaware of this. At least all the way until he’ll face Majora and Fierce Deity gives him what he needs to defeat the Demon. Though, it is still uncertain whether or not he’ll decide to gain the Hero of Time’s full knowledge and memories. After all, such information load could (and quite certainly will) change his thoughts and behavior whether or not he wants. In all reality, he might just follow Fierce’s directions in the battle instead.
(Bit like in my Linked Universe story “Febuwhump 2024, Chapter 36: Extra 6: Immortality” where Time followed the instructions / directions of the fairies.)
His favorite era of Hyrule’s history is the Linked Era which can also be dubbed as Linked Universe.
He loves music but there are some songs he’s not liking even one bit. Such song, for example is, Numb from Linkin Park. In fact, he quite well freaks out when he hears Twilight singing along that song.
He fully enjoyed dancing with Malon but after her death, he hadn’t really been able to do that. He tries to dance when no-one sees but he just ends up breaking to pieces as he’s not having Malon there with him. Yet, one time the boys sees him dance for a while before the loneliness and heartache strikes. That’s when they decide to ask him to teach them to dance. It heals his condition a bit.
He is unaware of being partly of Fairy blood. The voice of the nature, as he calls it, is actually the fairies. He learns the Fairy Language swiftly due to being partly of Fairy blood.
So it's an purgatory the natsuko and her idol anime director from her childhood are stuck on
U la la. I wanna watch the rest as soon as possible. Personally I think the creator of the world is just okdokie with being in this universe where she just rewatch her story unfold over and over again because writers like to tortured ocs.
But natsuko is a fangirl of this anime and is trying to rewrite canon, and she doing alright, so in the 8 episode she's probably gonna fight with her creator
In the end, will she face her possible love for Luke? I feel like she really connected with him because she low-key lived him, and also got a hyperfocus on the anime.
Maybe she will show him her true feelings and go back to the real world and open herself for some love experience? That's sounds kinda bad, I like to view her as asexual, but whatever, let's see
A spell to break bad habits/ break addictions/ bind negative attributes of yourself
-Inspired by Bilbo Baggins’ ability to part from the One Ring-
You will need
A ring (doesn’t matter the kind, but it must be disposable, or a ring shaped representation, also that is disposable)
an envelope- to represent you shutting and sending away the negative aspect
your favorite incense- to aid in your focus
a white candle- to represent cleansing and purification
a small glass of water- also for cleansing
tongs
What to do
For at least a day before the spell, keep the ring or ring representation with you. (the longer you keep it with you, the better attuned to it you will be.)
Immediately before the spell, think of your addiction, bad habit or troublesome attribute of yourself that you wish to be rid of, focus on it, and force it into the ring.
Visualize it as a mass of energy leaving your body, any color, and wrapping itself around the ring like a wire.
Light your incense and candle, pick up the ring with the tongs and (if you’re using a real ring), run it through the flame of the candle a few times. If you are using a non metal representation of a ring, do not put it in the flame unless it is NOT flammable! If it is flammable, hold it above the candle, but where the air is warm.
Visualize the energy on the ring, melting into it, turning into words upon the band or item.
Remove the ring from the flame. It may be hot so dip it in the water for a moment to cool it. Then run the item through the smoke of the incense and visualize the smoke creating a barrier around the ring to seal the negative energy in.
Place the ring in the envelope and seal it.
Find a place to properly dispose of the ring where it cannot come back to you, and do so. As you are disposing of the ring, imagine yourself free of the bad habit, addiction or troublesome attribute, and say “You have no power here, You have no power over me, you have no control here, and now I shall be free”
** If you do not wish to use a real ring that is fine! Use a stem from a plant that you have wound into a ring, or a paperclip you have curled into a ring, or simply cut a piece of paper into a ring and use it. It is simply used to represent a physical form for what you are trying to get rid of!*
