Rough Days and 'Dinner Dates'

It had been a very rough day. Orton breathed deeply as he tried to focus on getting himself groomed for tonight. Apparently Block had invited him for a 'dinner date' at a fancy restaurant in the year 2175 and naturally, Orton can never say no to an offer that meant spending time with Block; Even though he's felt really crummy and upset from studio work.

Maybe a nice meal and chat with his dear boyfriend will do.

Orton smiled at this prospect and he fiddled his tie to make it form a simple bow. Extremely fancy formal attire isn't his thing, so all Orton settled for was a simple navy blue coat with a matching bowtie along with dark brown trousers.

After minutes more of powdering up and cologne, the man made his way to his backyard where he made a parking lot just for Block to park has Time Cadillac whenever he visits to prevent his exposure to the public. It was a perfect spot, high above the hill containing Orton's house and garden, nobody can find his time traveller boyfriend; Except for him.

He sat down on a nearby bench to wait, occasionally looking at his watch but his heart is still heavy with upset and distress from the day's activities. His manager had been nastier today and Orton had some buttons pushed which led to his severe stress. It's hard for him to mask this, but for the sake of his boyfriend, he tried his best to smile. Just for tonight, and just for the person he had loved the most.

After all, Block had heard of the problem via Orton's little rant over their intertemporal communicator and that was when Block had immediately suggested he go out with him to a nice dinner in the future; Oddly he sounded extra happy as he spoke of that but Orton had thought it's because the restaurant is a new place so it's natural for his dear other half to get all excited.

With that being thought about, Orton shrugged slightly and returned his gaze to the car parking space, expecting the glossy black Cadillac with Block to appear anytime soon. Wanting to distract himself from the time and stress lingering in his heart, he tried thinking of other stuff; Stuff like what kind of clothes Block is wearing for the dinner, what kind of restaurant they're going to, everything that counts.

Anna Analyzes: Possible Secrets Being Kept From The Audience

I just realized something, Mr. Block mentions (in cannon) saying that he’s going to go to the past to watch a movie, right?

Well, what if this is a massive hint that he’s maybe...visiting somebody who’s in the past but he doesn’t want anybody in the Bureau to know?

Going to the past just to see a movie seems so excessive.

Plus we (the audience) learn from Backwards to School Night and possibly also Love Toboggan that we’re not even seeing all the instances of Time Travel that Dakota (arguably one of the main characters) is doing.

Also, we only have Brick and Savannah’s word as to what they got up to before being re-assigned to pistachio duty.

Basically what I’m saying is that Mahlblock (AKA the Orton Mahlson/ Mr. Block pairing) could very well be happening right under not only the audience’s noses, but also kept secret from those at the Bureau as well.

Only time will tell!
