I think it’s one of those subtle things that’s often meant to be like “We should look for the common good in everyone” things that sounds really nice to people.  Like of course everyone wants to be peaceful, but that’s not how peace works.  Insisting that there are no problems or that people need to look for the good in the side committing evil is...really backwards.  Like I hate to get political, but look how things are going with the US right now.  Biden’s whole “We have to seek peace with the other side instead of getting caught up in the awful things the Republicans did the last four years, or we’ll never move forward” sure worked out considering all 0 Republican votes he got for the massively popular policies he also doubled back on.  Peace doesn’t exist until the oppressor faces consequences, and those beliefs are changes.  Sitting back and trying to just find the good in them is an impossible task because it’s working around what’s necessary to enact the peace we seek.

Mercedes - Do you believe in a higher power?- I am a pretty ardent atheist. At one time I was a vagueish Christian. My maternal grandparents are Jehovah’s Witnesses, my paternal are Catholics. I did go through an edgy atheist phase, and I was a major dick at that time. Here’s my position. We do not know if there is a god or gods. We do not know which god or gods. It is therefore impractical from my position to hold any one religion or god or set of gods from any other.If we want to go any further with other vague higher concepts, I don’t believe in fate or destiny. Those have vague-ish deterministic realities with some sense of “purpose.” I am unsure of it, but I think free will doesn’t exist. But don’t confuse that with fatalism. Based on what I’ve learned about quantum mechanics, we do not live in a Newtonian World where one could be a Laplace’s Demon and deduce all fated realities. For that reason we can’t know one way or the other, so just don’t worry about it. If the world truly is deterministic then it feels no different than one with free will, and since the information of the universe ever increases we can’t predict the future...so don’t worry about it. Jeralt - What job would you happily spend the rest of your life doing?- Man, I would have loved to be a virologist. Or a YouTube educational blogger.

FE3H Ship that you find cute but don’t ship: Caspar/LinhardtLike I get why people like it and do buy them as friends. But for some reason it just doesn’t... tickle my fancy. I really can’t say exactly why, but eeeh. Maybe just cause I like their chemistry with other characters more on the romance side.

FE3H Ship that you can never see happening: happy-ending Claude/HildaDespite how very canon they feel (ditto for all lord/retainers). Playing GD proper might change my mind, but right now knowing how badly Hilda regards Almyrans I have a really hard time picturing happy outcomes of her becoming Queen of said people. Like... you could argue her eyes would be opened, but there’s a LOT of IRL examples of someone coming to power and treating that group of people they’d already hated like trash. It just can’t picture it ending well... (despite not really having a good alternate ship for Claude)

FE3H Ship that is unpopular but I like: Edelgard/HubertMaybe this isn’t that unpopular, but I feel like different ships for each have more attention/content. Unlike almost every other character in the game, Hubert has Edelgard’s total confidence and trust, and totally displays just how willing he is to burn the world to make her smile. Edelgard also acknowledges what he does on her behalf, how he’s capable and dangerous- which is why Hu’s devotion doesn’t feel creepy. It’s a working relationship, which can easily tip into more. And well... in more than one route Hubert might be the only one who stays by Edelgard’s side and that’s something.

That’s pretty much what I’m doing.  We’re on to round 7 now.  What I have learned is that all the banners have the exact same number of blue units available, but the good news is that there’s two of them that have no focus 5* blue units, so that’s where to focus my efforts probably.  It would remove the 3% chance for the focus.  Where that gets allocated, I have no idea.  But some day, I will have Ninian...
