The group formed in 1964. Cuba Gooding joined the group in 1971. They had 11 chart entries 1970-75. They had two top ten hits and a third that made the top 40.

“Looks like that’s been around a time or two.”

“Every time I’d stir a little in, a few more Cabal ended up vaporized, and I came out of another firefight still kicking. During the day I’d hide in bombed-out buildings, use a hand-crank I rigged up to recharge the battery packs. Come nighttime, I had enough charges to cover myself so I could move around. Kept up that way till I found the resistance in the City, but I sure wasn’t gonna swap this for some other gun by then. Didn’t wanna mess with the recipe.
“So I kept fighting with it, only now with fresh cells, till the Traveler awoke and the Red Legion went down. Saw me through every time.”
“Sounds like a good piece. And they say Vanguard standard issue is usually junk.”
