But before I could do anything he tossed me down into the chair and it began to bind itself around me. The time cop walked over to the display and pressed his against it. With his hand scanned all that was left was for him to say, "Activate."
The device grabbed my head and began to wrap itself around it. I couldn't move. I couldn't get away. I was trapped! I could feel the he thing warming up.
"Starting scan," he said and the wall in front of me began to light up, transforming into a screen. I could a feel a tingling roll throughout my body, especially in my scalp. I had trouble focusing and I could feel my lip between to twitch, but the screen stayed a blank white. "What's taking so long," I could hear the time cop mumble. "Do I need to turn it off and on again?"
Then the screen began to pop and fizzled with static. "What the hell is going on?" The time cop yelped. The machine began to have meltdown. Sparks shot out of the control board and the Time Cop rushed out there.
Oh,no I thought I'm trapped in here. I could hear the machine begin to whine. I could see it start to smoke, but I was still strapped down. The chair was still clinging to me. What could I do? I tried to struggle, but the machine was too strong. I was stuck here!
And then suddenly it began to give way. The chair recoiled from me and I slipped out. I was free. The time cop was gone, but for how long? The machinery had stopped misfiring, so how much longer would it be until he returned. It could be minutes. It could be any second. I had to act quickly. I rushed to the machine and began trying to search for the source of the predictive engrams. What was fueling this system? Where were the servers that tracked the timeline and how could I get to them? I found this but they were so far away. What could I do from here?
