Axe The Tax on Female Hygiene Products

So as an Australian I find that the cost of living is excruciating enough as it is. Until once a month for most females we get hit by an onslaught of pain and agony awaiting the painkillers to kick in and the swathe of costs associated with maintaining female hygiene. In Australia though we are also slogged with tax for said female hygiene products and continually shamed for what our bodies do naturally.

I am calling all Australians to join in, and even non-Australians to help spread the word, in the petition that is currently being run through the Parliament of Australia to revoke the luxury tax on female hygiene products.

Would you consider bleeding every month to be a luxury?

The link takes you to the Parliament of Australia’s e-Petition page. All you need is your name and a valid email address because they send you a link to click that counts as your “signature”. There may be a delay on the loading screen but it will load.

Make sure to verify your contribution by clicking their link in your emails. Otherwise it’s not counted.

As of this post there are 66,203 votes to revoke the tax but we need 100,000 by March 30 to make it happen. I am hoping every Australian, male or female, signs the petition to make it happen.
