I love randomly complimenting people because it brings me so much joy to see the look on their face. Their eyes light up and they smile and are surprised someone noticed them, someone saw them in the brief fleeting exchange that they have daily. We all just want to be seen, and that’s why I compliment people because they need to know that I see them.
Listen Up!
If you meet someone, who doesn’t talk much, is shy, drowns her/his sorrows in alcohol, doesn’t show weakness, doesn’t let her/his feelings show, cries to you about their problems, THEN YOU HAVE GOT TO KEEP THEM! She/He are probably broken, and you need to help them! All they probably want is a hug and for someone to love, someone to love them, forgetting about every mistake the broken person has done and just love them! That’s all anybody really wants. Is to be loved. Because in reality, who doesn’t? Someone who doesn’t like to talk, who doesn’t trust easily has probably been hurt so much that she/he has given up on love, that someone will ever love them. So help them. Help them overcome what’s haunting them. Listen to what they have to say. Don’t just give them hugs or whatever, actually let them know you love them, pick them up from work, send them flowers, take them to lunch, MAKE THEM SMILE FOR GOD’S SAKES! MAKE THEM LAUGH! MAKE THEM FEEL LOVED, CARED FOR, FEEL SPECIAL! Don’t do all that, and then leave them, Just Don’t Leave Them, they want you by their side, always. If the person keeps pushing you away, don’t leave, it’s their way of saying to stay and to never leave. Trust me, I know what it’s like to be broken and it’s not good, so please, it doesn’t necessarily need to be a broken person in order for you to take action and make someone smile. Help someone out by being there for them and making them smile.
