DON'T LOOK GOOD BROKE
DON’T LOOK GOOD BROKE
When I was still working in the religious organization, I was labeled as PASTORA FASHION because of how I dressed up, how I applied make up and of how I accessorized myself. I also believe that presenting ourselves the best that we can isn’t bad provided that we did it moderately and it will not lead us into debt.
Today, I still have two pouches of Make Up. I check and notice that there are…

15 Makeup Bag Essentials
For girls like us, dealing with the struggles of high school sitting next to icky boys, tearing up over yet again failing another science test and changing for sport class in a quick 45 mins while still trying to find the time to eat, a fully equipped makeup bag is essential! Here are the 15 most important necessities every girl should keep in her makeup bag (and a few little tips and tricks):
1. First things first, The Bag - I like to think of a makeup bag as a girls hidden treasure chest, a box full of all her treasures that is exclusive to no one but herself, so its got to be cute, right? A makeup bag should be a reflection of a girls personality, radiant and colourful or dark and alluring. Although it must also be practical, a great feature in a makeup bag is to be able to see whats inside without having to haul everything out, so preferably clear or sort of mesh so you can see through is great. A bag must be flexible, not too big or too small and avoid purchasing a bag with a fabric lining because all your products with leave ugly stains and it won’t be looking fresh for very long.
2. Hand Sanitiser - I honestly don’t know where I would be without my hand sanitiser! It’s a gods gift! One thing I despise is when at public toilets the soap never seems to be stocked or at school when you accidentally touch some gum under the desk.. EEKK!! So its always handy to have your own portable soap with you for those times in need.
3. Deodorant - Have you ever left the house and thought “omg I forgot to put on deodorant!!!” I think we’ve all been there. Because of this unescapable forgetfulness it’s always smart to keep an extra mini deodorant in your makeup bag (especially after sport class).
4. Lip Balm & Lip Gloss - So many of us suffer from cracked lips, am I right? It seems every time the weather changes my lips just give up! Because of this, every girl (and guy) should carry around a lip balm with them, not to mention the yummy smell vibrating of your lips. Also have your favourite neutral lip gloss colour with you just incase you forget to apply some after you leave home.
5. Hair Ties - For those days when you’re having a really good hair day… for a few hours at least, and then it starts to rain! Hair ties are a must-have in your makeup bag or just simply around your wrist.
6. Nail File - If I had a dollar for every time I was bored in the car or sitting down waiting for something and I wished more than anything to have a nail file, I would be one rich girl! Nail files are the cure to ultimate boredom, trust me.
7. Mascara - Mascara is a must-have for any girl at any time, keep a small one in your makeup bag 24/7.
8. Wisp - In Australia we have these things called ‘Colgate Wisp’, they’re like mini portable tooth brushes that you run under some water and thats it! These things are great for people with braces or after a very garlicy meal!
9. Tissues - If you’re like me and you are allergic to what it seams like absolutely everything, pollen, dust, pet fur you name it! I can not stress to you enough the importance of having tissues in your makeup bag! There is nothing worse than having a runny nose and having to sniff every other second, YUK!!
10. Mints - After a meal most people just can’t help but feel self conscious about their breath, so to cure this anxiety always have mints or gum to chew on.
11. Roll on Perfume - Ok I’m going to share a little tip with you that has helped me survive high school, and here it is; have you ever been unwillingly placed next to a sweaty, stinky boy straight after lunch and you just can’t seem to escape the musty, vile smell?! Because I know I have, so what you do is you take out your roll on perfume and you roll it on under your nose just above your lips and .. Tada!! The smell is gone and replaced with the scent of fresh floral, now you have freedom to breathe! You’ll thank me later.
12. Face Wipes - An essential for those times when your best friend is crying over her last breakup and her mascara is just running down her face like a black waterfall or when your face just feels a little too oily for comfort.
13. Pain Killers - Ever get a raunching headache or a tight tummy cramp in the middle of the day? Always carry some Nurofen or any pain killer too sooth the pain on the go!
14. Nail Clippers - In my experience, nail snags are a distraction magnet! Once you get one you just can’t resist the urge to keep playing with it until eventually you pull at it too hard which results to bleeding and your finger starts to throb and it just all goes down hill from there. To avoid this happening to you, keep some clippers in your bag to quickly cut the snag before it takes over.
15. And last but not least, it had to be said, Girl Troubles - You never know when it might be that time of the month again so to just be safe, always have some extra supplies incase of emergencies!!
And there you go! Hopefully these 15 suggestions have helped you get through your busy day with a little more ease and elegance.
