I think this is such a good idea for Zero Waste beauty! Cotton pads, make up wipes, and make-up removers are quite wasteful and can sometimes cause issues for people with sensitive skin because of all the chemicals in those products. Purity Made Simple, for Those of us who are just too Lazy.
Having a way to remove makeup and wash your face is incredibly important. Makeup on your skin can cause all kinds of icky stuff that none of us want. If you’re like me and you love wearing makeup and dread taking it off, here’s something that might help.
Philosophy is a brand that’s well known for their scented body washes but this is the only product I own from them. Purity Made Simple is a facial cleanser that works to wash your face as well as get off all your makeup. It’s a nice formula and it really helps to get off the ten pounds of product I put on every time I decide to go out.
For me, it’s worked wonderfully. The only thing it doesn’t get off is my mascara and sometimes liner, and that’s primarily because I have very sensitive eyes so I don’t put it there, duh. A few Q-tips and some Aquaphor easily remedy the situation.
There are downsides, of course. It won’t really help with acne unless your acne is caused by makeup remaining in your pores, it doesn’t have some benefits using a general face wash would have, and in the reviews I’ve read a lot of people reported it breaking them out. I also find it can dry your skin out if you forget moisturizer before bed too many times.
Not everyone’s skin is the same, so it’s important to consider that. Purity works great for me, but it may not work for you, but I do believe it’s worth a try! I just bought my second bottle about four months ago and this is how it looks now.

The Neutrogena Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes work really well, and take less than one minute to remove even water-proof mascara and lipstick.
