Today's run was a shorter distance (and a slightly slower pace), but was by far the hardest one so far. Twice as much running, same walking gaps, heel lift stretches in between - my legs are on fire. Completed the session though - just gonna have to shamble home from here! What do you mean I got under the 10 min/km mark today? What do you mean I did it by cutting 44 secs/km off last time? Are you saying I fucking smashed it today? Because I am damn well saying that! Today was the hardest run so far, but it was because it's suddenly gotten much easier to push my body past what I thought I could do. Willed myself to walk faster? I walked faster. Willed myself through the stitches and aches? Kept going. Might succeed after all... Also, my jogging bottoms were too small at the turn of the year, now I.have to tuck my shirt and hoodie in to keep them up! I need to add two things to my usual dull commentary on these pictures today: firstly, I do apologise for posting stupid, self-congratulating pictures all the time - I know it's not interesting, but it helps me keep track of myself, and with the motivational issues I've been having, I need all of the little bits of help I can get. Secondly, I have not been doing as well as I had hoped in January, which I think is what got to me last week (thank you for those of you who worried, it means the world) and left me with lacking self-confidence. I've got some ideas on how to help with this in February, so we'll see how I do! Third run/walk of the year today, and another slight increase in pace. Going to stay on this "mission" for this week though, as I've been sporadic thus far. Can't wait until I can drop under 10 mins/km! Today is also the first day where I've done everything I set out to do, so I'm feeling proud of myself. So, this morning I woke up with a very unusual amount of motivation from nowhere, and I've done some shopping to motivate me a bit more, a bunch of stuff to help with the exercise thing. Also had salad without any of the unhealthy extras for lunch, and have been snacking on fruit all day - and have drunk way more than my fair share of water!
