While I agree that Allison's glow up at the end of the movie was more of a glow down, let's be honest: it was realistic.

Claire, the popular girl obsessed with makeup and shopping, would totally want to give her new friend a makeover. Hell, I'm not into makeup or shopping at all, but me and my friend used to give each other makeovers all the time for fun.

I think it wasn't that they disliked how Allison looked, it was just a teenage girl bonding with her friend.

And I think Claire was a lot like Andy in the sense she liked being able to see her friend's face. She didn't like all the heavy makeup, but I think it's because she wants to show people Allison is actually very pretty, but no one - including her in the beginning - sees past her makeup.

I don't know, I'm rewatching the breakfast club for the third time in the past two days so I'm a bit into it right now, and I just think it's in character for Claire to like makeovers.
