Dawn, now that you're living with Doris, what's the biggest thing you miss about ToonTown?
ToonTown is loud and can feel like an earthquake is happening, like every hour. But there was one thing I really loved and miss about it. Outside of my apartment window there was a salon. Salon of Seville.
I have a picture of it.
I never went in. It's way too expensive. I just watched toons go in and leave in the late evening. At that time, stars where coming home and they'd make a stop there first. You see, it takes a lot sometimes to be animation ready. A lot of the outfits are uncomfortable. And I would see princesses, warriors, robots and more walk into this salon. When they came out, it was always amazing. They looked so comfortable to have the piles of accessories, jewelry and every painted add on taken off. Like seeing someone have the weight of the industry lifted from them. Everyone has seen these stars be beautiful on screen, but when they're relaxed and not heading out to entertain for a whole day, that's when they're stunning.
I really miss seeing that transformation. It was nice and comforting. A great note to end the day on.
But, I do like my new home in Burbank (Do not ask for our address).
Good night to everyone out there who entertains and helps the public while in the most uncomfortable uniforms and conditions. I hope you get to kick off your shoes, put on your favorite worn out clothes (or no clothes, you choose) and just fall asleep watching your favorite movie.
Thanks for the question!
