I am: BACK. Not to make Maliksi cry just yet (next submission ko na 'to humanda ka sa 'kin itlog ka) but in relation to my last sent question, here's a fic of anon x Makisisig ♡ (intended)

As much as you adored Maliksi and his love for his brother, it made you upset sometimes that Makisig would drop plans last minute when his little brother calls for him. You say it's fine, really. You understood and loved their connection. If anything, you even encourage Makisig to tend to his little brother's whims and caprices.

But it's becoming way too frequent now and gods, the little rascal was definitely doing it on purpose at this point— you're well-aware of his disdain for the likes of you, human, and he'd be very much happy to have one less obstacle, because one less of you means more time for him from his brother, and you just wish Makisig sees it himself too.

You sat alone in your dimly lit room with a heavy heart, the disappointment echoing in your heart as you replayed all the broken promises and plans. You were upset— who wouldn't be?

It was 12 am. He may or may not have forgotten about his promise of spending time together tonight, the already cold food on the table you've spent hours on making for him already forgotten— because Maliksi had tantrums that Makisig had to tend to.

Realizing his mistake, Makisig knew he had to make it up to you. He took a deep breath, walked into the room where you sat, meeting your gaze. With a gentle smile, he softly said, "I'm sorry, my binibini. I know I let you down."

Without waiting for a response, Makisig positioned himself in front of you, his voice trembling with sincerity. He gently strummed his guitar, the soothing melody captivating your attention. "Labis na naiinip, nayayamot sa bawat saglit..." Makisig's voice quivered with emotion as he began to sing, pouring his heart out.

"Hanggang kailan ako maghihintay na makasama kang muli sa buhay kong puno ng paghihirap?" and you swear, all your anger had melted. If it weren't for the fact that your eyes were slightly puffy from crying out of frustration earlier and a reminder of what he did, you probably would've forgotten why you were mad in the first place.

As the last note faded away, Makisig reached out and gently took your hand in his. Gods above, you were weak for him. You always were. "I'm truly sorry, my binibini," he whispered, his voice filled with genuine remorse. "I promise to make it up to you. Will you forgive me?"

Your eyes softened, and a smile slowly formed on your lips. In that moment, you feel like you fell a little harder— if that was still even possible.

True to his word, he did make up— in more ways than one.

...Not gonna lie I haven't thought about Makisig's family yet? Despite it all (the 20+ page lore doc) he's escaped my curse of generational trauma meanwhile 4/5 of my other main group of oc's has plot-relevant, multigenerational trauma. Insane

Ione is likely the closest he's had to family since the horrors, but it takes them a while to properly admit it due to trauma on both ends.

Her deceased cousin, Iris. They were close growing up, but she died in an accident while out adventuring a few years ago. It gave Ione a hefty amount of survivor's guilt, as she was also injured, but survived.

🌈 : What does this OC like and dislike about themselves?

A lot of what Makisig currently likes about himself is on a practical level? Like, he values his skills, what he can do, etc. especially when he's so focused on a goal he's been pursuing for like... 300 years.

I think that self-love is something that... honestly he's gonna have to work on post-canon because it took like, 85% of it for him to realize how much he wants to live a fulfilling life after so many years of feeling like he's... not progressing or not doing enough.

He has a lot that he dislikes about himself, especially with his past mistakes. It would take a lot of self-reflection on top of that he already needs to do in order to like, really qualitatively say what he enjoys about being himself.

The same kind of applies to Ione since they're parallels, namely in mostly liking stuff about herself on a practical level... but with Ione, I think she has a more exact idea of what she dislikes about herself. Namely, what she views as inadequacy due to what she perceives as failure during key moments. This is also why she tends to lash out at people when they're like... similar to her in a way she doesn't enjoy? Kid has issues

OC questions

01. What is the character’s go-to drink order? (this one gets into how do they like to be publicly perceived, because there is always some level of theatricality to ordering drinks at a bar/resturant)

Ione always orders hot brewed drinks of some sort, regardless of weather. While this is in part due to her low sweetness tolerance, it has more to do with her wanting to come off as "mature", so she never adds anything to her coffee or tea because of that.

However, she also dislikes really healthy vegetable-heavy drinks and stuff like that, so she's also just kinda picky despite claiming to have a mature/refined palate (even though in reality, that kinda just doesn't matter. Ione is just Like That about her image? lol)

I also made a quick tier list of how everyone takes their coffee including human designs because. it's fun

010. What objects do they always carry around with them? (What do they need for their normal, day-to-day routine? What does ‘normal’ even look like for them.) 

I already answered this question for Ione, so I'll do this for Makisig instead! I'll put it under the cut for sake of length.

Makisig always wears some sort of armor, but it’s rare that he dresses up the way that he’s depicted in his reference; with his full plate armor and cape and etc., since it’s time consuming to take off.

300 years ago, he dressed somewhat differently. I don’t think he would have kept bags on his belt the way he does, but 300 years without an adventuring party demands self-sufficiency, so nowadays he carries a much more diverse inventory.

Where he used to carry maybe just like, medicine (IDK like vulneraries and/or concoctions from FE), now I imagine he would also carry stuff that would like, substitute for elemental attacks since he doesn't have natural magic? Think soulstones from 8/PATH.

Makisig also always carries a weapon. Even without one, he’d be fine in hand-to-hand combat (FTR he’d have like 29 STR in DnD, that’s how strong he is lol), but still. In the past, I want to say he used a different weapon but currently uses a large claymore. (WAR -> DRK)

Makisig doesn’t accessorize too much, I think the main one he’s really committed to is his fur cape. Well, that and one more thing: a ring that he keeps on a chain necklace around his neck.

It belonged to his partner, Eden, and it was the only thing that Makisig kept of him after he died. His armor and everything else, he buried with him. Because the ring doesn’t fit on Makisig’s hand, he keeps it on a chain, and underneath his gambeson.

It’s very well-kept. Even 300 years later, it’s still in prime condition. He rarely wears it openly, but in times of stress, holds or fiddles with it, still attached to the chain.

But yeah Makisig... is very rarely ever apart from that ring. The one scene in-canon where like, he is, is a super fucking huge deal.
