The thing about this is that it becomes difficult to plot out every eventuality for each combination of various past choices. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I can only imagine how complicated it is to implement beyond like, little cameos and mentions and the like. Still, it would be neat, yes.
I’m not talking about every possible decision having an impact. There are simply too many and too much chance for variation. But some key decisions would be easy to work with, and there are other games that manage such a thing. Some examples I’ve been thinking about are -
- the fight with Solas is harder/impossible to win if your Warden took Morrigan’s offer because of what happens with the old god spirit
- Character X is crucial to the ending but you killed him in a previous game so now this good thing doesn’t happen
