On the Wings of Black Vultures (Poem by Dean Martin Wilknott)
Writing words in secret on the wings of black vultures, I found myself dazed and deprived of the sunlight I sought. And there against the hollow dreams I somehow saw and fell into a book I knew very well—
It was writ by a man named Jean-Paul Sartre.
And he talked about too many things there— in between the many empty pages of the endless screams where he saw the truth that told him
as it fell from the sky as it melted from the sunlight
He saw before him and so he wrote about the veiled humanities that unfolded around him, calling them unjust indeed, and I came too, came to know him and understand the plight of what I could only described as the modern flight of man, a future which needed more than Marx and Lenin to fix the tenor of a misspoken language. And there in my own falling from his words and calling, those many, many
things eventually found a home in my head, or as I sat looked at the map of red I lie awake or see it clearly in my sleep while I lay in bed.
And I knew it was true, that sunlight does sink heavier than cast stone when it falls into water.
And as a writer Sartre felt the weight of his own words, believing one should not allow oneself to be turned into an institution of stone but to become the sunlight was the key to the flight.
As Icarus did before I rummaged passed the drifting of the industrial plumes, and passed the wreckage he unwound and sought in his thoughts, and so Sartre was in my head, and out of my sleep came the undeniable truth there in.
Sartre found himself wound in the confines of capsules filled with heroine along a different path he devoured an endless supply of candies made of morphine that left him with a better mouth feel for the thoughts that clouded the brainstorms that exploded in his head.
Sartre tittered on many occasions getting stuck in the gaze of my sleep, and as Morpheus met him in the hidden channels of my mind, the two ate heartily the stew of sunlight and begged for more, they traveled hand in hand looping through one image and into the next—one after another and into one land from another their bellies now swollen and full as the vultures above wept looking on, and I too became unglued from my sad perch fetching my pen and sat next to them writing the words I heard them share, and wrote them on the wild wingspans of those same giant black vultures that flew over our heads, and there sat Morpheus, me and Jean-Paul Sartre, where we three dreamed of this powerful sunlight and a new institution for mankind.

Look it matters not to me, but whether this is valid to you is another thing. I have to say that after two weeks I convert all my posts to private - including anything that got featured, sometimes I make my posts private right after they get featured, I don't know how many others that blog do the same thing, but your algorithm probably doesn't take that into account, so its far from accurate. As an aside I was featured 13 times in October. Cheers Dean
Alright, I am rather new to tumblr. I wasn't aware of the possibility that one can pull one's own posts from tumblr and after experiences from facebook etc I thought what's on the internet once stays there forever. Of course the algorithm only takes those posts into account that are still on the public tag stream.
tumblr just got a lot more sympathic.
To be absolutely honest, the statistics were just a byproduct of messing around with Python. I shared it with a few friends privately and after they seemed interested I chose to post it. I must confess, the way I worded the post it has a too official and accurate air, which was not intended.
So to rectify myself: The statistics show an accumulation of all posts that were public at the time I compiled them and that were featured in October.
Thanks for your input Dean.
Cheers, Allan
manfrommontreal replied to your post: Why the fuck did I ever start a writing blog in...
Well… writing in any capacity is like most things -its math, the equation here = time, writing takes time. I find writing when I’m not on tumblr far more productive of my time, and spend the time I have on tumblr reading… just saying….
Maaan...I can't write at all, but since I'm wasting time on tumblr, I figure I could write something, because it's expected, but I just can't. Guess I'm just not feeling it. Doesn't really do anything for me anymore. I don't know.
I also hate math, that might explain why I hate most things, if most things are math.
Out and Down
Well, I feel quite even more at ease in this place knowing TWO others share a chapter I have read.....
