Mangalajodi is the heaven of water birds. It is the home to a wide variety of Avifauna. This vast wetland attracts thousands of migratory birds from far away lands, like siberia in the winter season. In the peak season, it is believed to be hosting about 1.5 lakhs of Birds. Magalajodi has been declared as the International Bird conservation Area. This place is also famous for it's traditional rituals like Danda Yatra and Paika Akhada. Both the Chilika Lake and the Mangalajodi are famous for their scenic beauty and the soothing atmosphere.
