the synths you encounter in fallout 4 – there aren’t a lot of them that are actually sentient and programmed to feel emotions like a real human would. many are merely machines without the ability to conceptualise things like slavery or free will; they’re very basic… well, robots. it’s unfair to call them servants because they don’t know what servitude is: they simply are.
so I don’t have a lot of sympathy for machines. absolutely the advanced ones should not be manufactured anymore and that’s what carmen does – no more cruel parodies of humans, please, no more danses that hate themselves for being mechanical inside when they bleed like us, no more bodies than the commonwealth is already struggling with.
but gen 2s, of course? you need manpower to change the world. if it can be fabricated, even better. what I’m saying in a nutshell here is… I still think (hint: think, this is my opinion only) that the institute are best equipped to transform the commonwealth into a civilisation unlike the one we live in now, basically the greedy, corporate version of the government before the war. they’ve made many transgressions but that’s why it’s your chance as the new director to fix them…
