WATCH: The Save Our Schools Network Southern Mindanao posted a video of Bai Lita Ambuat, niece of the late Talaingod chieftain Bai Bibyaon Ligkayan Bigkay. Ambuat accompanied Bigkay for the past twenty years and said they fulfilled Bibyaon’s wish to be buried right away.

My father who is of Agusan Manobo descent once spoke of meeting older relatives who were the last to be tattooed of their generation. I don’t have pictures of them so I can only wonder if they looked anything like these. It seems other Manobos had kept their tattooing customs for longer than my family did.
