I don't hope that Marathon (2025) gets canceled, per se, but I think that if it comes out and it's lame, it'll inevitably dominate the conversation around the franchise, drown out attempts to grow appreciation for the original trilogy as cult classics, and generally do us all a disservice as appreciators of the arts. "I don't like this game -> I'm not interested in its history -> Marathon name associated with 2025 being bad and little else -> general public ignores Marathon name on instinct".

I don't want that to happen. Unfortunately cancellation seems the likeliest way to avoid it.

More sci fi needs to do what Marathon did and have cyberneticaly enhanced corpse super soldiers, not only that but also(if you wanna follow in their footsteps further)have said cybernetics/tech be from a bygone godlike civilization. Like you cant say that zombie cyborg super soldiers doesnt sound cool you just cant.

Plus there’s fun topics to discuss here. Things like the ethics and morals of reanimating the dead, the of possibility stripping one of their autonomy, exploring how some might and might not like being brought back, existential crises of both being a cyborg and being undead, critiques on how the military doesnt like letting soldiers go and will use any means to keep you in service if possible etc etc etc :3
