Promt: ' Ive Got you' (P.S. I love your content)
asked from this prompt (omg i’m so glad u like it)
remus is fucking nervous. he knows that he shouldn’t be. they’ve been together for over a year so why is the prospect of this date so terrifying? maybe it’s because it’s his first time taking sirius out in muggle london, or maybe it’s because they’ve been so distant because of their missions with the order of the phoenix, but remus wants it to be perfect. perhaps that’s why he’s checked to make sure he hasn’t misplaced their tickets to the london eye three times, and he’s looked in his camera to make sure he has two extra rolls of film on top of the partially used one inside. maybe it’s why when sirius comes in, all flustered and haggard from his day on missions, remus’s face falls because he thinks his boyfriend will cancel on him, even though he wouldn’t be mad if sirius did.
“hiya moonpie,” he greets, pulling remus into an embrace. “i’ve just gotta go get changed, yeah? i know you said you had some date stuff planned for us tonight. uh- is it gonna be casual? can i dress casual? merlin, i’m knackered.” sirius is mostly rambling, pulling remus towards their bedroom as he rambles.
“oh, yeah? it’s not anything fancy or anything. just wanted to do some stuff with you that i know you’ve never done,– if you’re tired though we don’t have to go...”
“oi! yes we do. we haven’t been on a proper date in ages, moony, i absolutely will not spend another night holed up in this flat when you went and planned a date for us.”
remus is grinning at that, glad that he can finally do something nice for his boyfriend. he doesn’t want to come off as insensitive, he gets that there’s a war on, but he just wants to spend time with sirius while he can. in whatever time they have. because remus would be lying if he said his missions weren’t dangerous– if there wasn’t some very real possibility of death when he leaves to spend the full with greyback. so in the time that they have it’d be nice to spend it doing things they love, experiencing new things, together. “so i wanted to take you around muggle london. i got out money and stuff from the bank, so you don’t need to worry about it, yeah?” “but i’m the disgraced black family heir! you can’t expect me to not want to throw around money on my adorable half blood werewolf boyfriend my parents would never approve of!”“you can’t use their money anyways. muggles don’t accept galleons.”“i suppose it’s acceptable then.”
remus grins, leading sirius out of their flat, and down the road to the tube station. “rem–uh–i’ve never– can we just apparate?“sirius you can’t just apparate into the middle of muggle london. statute of secrecy, remember ??” “oh yeah– i just –”“you’re scared of the public transportation system?” remus chuckles, “so long as you stay behind the yellow line, and mind the gap, you’ll be fine!” he’s grinning like an idiot now, because this is comedy gold. when the train screeches to a halt; however, the look of terror on sirius’s face and the way he presses himself into remus’s side is a bit less funny. “sorry– i should have warned you, it’s loud.”“i can see that, moonpie.” “i’ve got you. it’s just a train. a loud train, but a train nonetheless.”the two of them step inside the train, and remus can’t help but snap a photo of sirius on his first tube journey. his first muggle transport. it’s hysterical to remus. when they finally depart the train, remus guiding sirius’s way by using both his own oyster card and an enchanted piece of parchment he had given sirius, they make their way to the london eye. sirius seems taken aback by it, which was mostly what remus was going for. he just wants sirius to see the city that he grew up in, the one his parents never bothered to show him around.
“cool, right?”“you’re sure muggles made this? this looks like fucking magic.”“all muggle invention. promise. this is a ferris wheel.”
when they make their way into the carriage, it’s set up with a bottle of champagne and it’s just the two of them inside. sirius is shocked, to say the least, that such a muggle experience could exist. he watches as they make their way around the circle of the eye, getting the most beautiful 360 degree view of the city and celebrating with bubbly. remus, ever the mom friend, takes a million photos of his boyfriend in the light of golden hour, with the city skyline behind him, and he’s never felt more at peace or in love then he does when the sun shines warmly on sirius’s face, and he looks so happy. it takes a moment for the heights to set in, and as they near the top of the wheel, remus looks just a bit uncomfortable. he, unlike sirius, prefers to keep both feet planted firmly on the ground.
“so this muggle experience thing is new for you too.” sirius grins, scooting closer to remus and tightening the arm around his waist. “well i’ve got you. even this high up. promise.”
remus leans over and kisses him, and in that moment everything is perfect.
