Well, I'm in the process of transferring schools so lately my eyes have been glued to my email making sure I get my paper work done and so on so forth. So its about 2am when I convince myself I won't get any further emails and I get distracted by the news updates they have on AIM.....
Uhh something about weather, a kid is missing and some rich lady talking about how horrible it was to be married to an abusive pro-basketball player. At this point, I'm pretty much done and I tell myself that I'll let it go through one more slide of news stories before I call it a night and then one video catches my eye...
Its this grey haired guy sitting at a table with a tape recorder and he has this expression on his face that is just priceless and the title reads
"One-man film sheds light on touchy subject" or something along those lines, So of course I had to click it. I mean come on, who doesn't love a one-man show?
It led me to a one-man film about the "Don't ask Don't tell" um, law (for lack of better words) and I watched one clip....and I was hooked.
This man has recordings of almost 200 or so gay people and straight people in the military and he...
....becomes them.
He voices them.
He takes their recorded voices and he acts them out. He becomes the mask for them to wear, but with their own voices.
Its fascinating to watch him, and it really fills you with emotion, I was crying at some parts, and I really want to share it, not because it makes you angry at the military. That's not the point of the film.....I have full respect for the people who work their asses off in the military to make sure we're safe.
...the point is that this man went across the U.S. and let them tell their story without fear of being judged and prosecuted so that one day, hopefully soon, it can help make our country better united.
You guys are lucky I can't sleep, I really had to go through my history to find some of these. XD (then I realized just change the number at the end because I'm a dumbass and its nearly 4am)
