Band Director: Okay guys I know that we just set this drill at the last rehearsal and we put music on it today and we’ve only marched and played it once but we’re going to perform it in front of an audience of hundreds of people right now anyway.

BAND CAMP TOMORROW WOOO
Every Section in my School’s Band Except for the Saxophones:
The Saxophones, Watching the entire Band get Yelled at for Fighting:
The Saxophone Section at my School, by Grade
Freshmen: Playing meme songs, complaining about rehearsals, tries to boss around the sophomores,“you know you’re in band when...”
Sophomores: Only plays when told to, tired, done with the Freshmen, honestly just trying to get through the season, “lol I still don’t have the stand tunes memorized”
Juniors: Honestly really good players, blasts high notes at any given opportunity, “next year when I’m section leader...”
Seniors: Carries the section on their backs while playing, also blasting high notes, team bonding, either “oh my god this is the last time I’ll...” or “thank god it’s finally over”
“Oh, the Christmas Parade? Don’t you mean Hell, but frozen?”
-Me, every year during the parade, knowing I’ll get sick after it’s over
“Look at them, those poor, poor souls. They have no idea what they’re getting themselves into...”
- Me, watching 8th graders audition for color guard every year after I quit
Band Quotes
So I've been in marching band for two years now and let's just say you hear a lot of interesting things while in it. So I wrote a few down and decided to share them with the world. Enjoy.
"FOR THE LAST TIME WE ARE NOT WEAPONIZING THE BAND UNIFORMS!"
"Lick her eyelid one more time and I swear to god-"
"If skittles are made in rainbows would that make them gay m and m' s?"
"Wanna know the manliest show ever, *proceeds to play My Little Pony theme and all the boys sing it*"
"No we are not going to get a band chicken and call it KFC,"
"Trust me band kids are always thirsty,"
"Its your turn to get on your knees, it was my turn last night,"
"Social life? I haven't heard of that in 4 years"
There are plenty more to post and I may make this a weekly thing..
March On
"Left. Left. Left-Right-Left."
The orders echo in my mind, my body moving automatically to the beat of the music as if in auto pilot while my mind is in another place.
I raise my arms in front if my face, my aching, sore, tired arms. My body screams for me to let them down. But I hold them there. I hold them as I begin to play my part.
My chapped lips barely allow a sound to pass threw my instrument as I continue to march on. My tongue begging me for a drop of refreshment but I continue on, making it an empty promise of refreshment soom.
"One more time!" He yells at us, Saying the same thing he has said the last gazillion times. Just like he'll keep saying until we are absolutely perfect with no flaws at all.
We all move about the field like lifeless zombies, the energy drained from us after redoing the move over and over and over again.
But we know how important this is. We know the cost of being off by one second or missing a high not.
We know that right now might be fun but later will be.
That it will all be worth it.
Some call us weak, others nerds, even some of our peers like to make fun of us. But we march on.
We are the first one's at the games and the last one's to leave.
We are the one's who practice ourselves to exhaustion and yet our efforts are never noticed.
We are the ones who bring home trophies and medals, Yet we get no reward.
We are the forgotten.
We are a family of people able to make an unbreakle bond.
We March On.
(If you didn't know I am a marching band nerd and I really get annoyed with how my school always seems to forget us, So I wanted to do a small thing about the band. So here it is)
